    You look beautiful. My hair seems to be the same texture as yours, fine and curly/wavy. I'm now in the process of letting the color and bleach grow out to go naturally grey. Thanks for the great tips.

    You are inspiring Sharon! Love the curly/wavy hair tips. Since I started watching you, I've cancelled haircuts & color (saved a lot of $$$) and just let my hair go natural. My husband loves it curly which is a bonus because I love the low maintenance. People are complimenting me, which is surprising too. I thought I needed to blow dry, etc. This is so freeing!

    New subscriber and sooo glad I found you! I am 52, and I let my hair go gray about 3 yrs ago. LOVE it, but have needed tips on how to get the yellow out and how to style my long wavy gray hair....working my way through your videos, and am learning so much! Thank you!

      That's great and welcome aboard the gray hair freedom train. For yellowing - shampoo with baking soda and water and a couple of drops of shampoo. Condition as usual and voila.

      Will try that first thing in the morning! Have tried the purple shampoos, but they just don't do a great job, plus they dry my hair out so badly. Thanks so much!

      AND when you use them regularly they create a metallic look to the hair. You may have to fiddle around with the measurements. My hair doesn't dry out from it but others experience. So use a good conditioner.

    Brilliant. Oh I can't wait til my silver hair grows out! I had it cut to an ear-length bob for summer but also to remove my rather blonde hair that was color-stripped; part of my growing out grey process. My hair is much like yours, and I am so eager to have long, glorious silver waves like yours!!! And regarding the water-filled squirt bottle: Every woman should keep one at their vanity!!! For hair....spritzing on a wrinkle in a shirt....so many uses! I swear by mine! Thank you for this video ❤

    Since we have the exact same hair and part, could you help me with this: What can I put on my hair (product) after I was it and brush it out using only my fingers to keep as much of my natural wave as possible? I no nothing of products. What I want to do, really, is just keep my own natural wave, add a little shine/de-frizz to it, and that's it! What do you recommend for this? :)

  • @lhuff482
    @lhuff482 8 лет назад

    I seem to have the exact same texture as yours. I sometimes let my dry natural then finish with a diffuser, but I have had the same issues with going flat at the roots, especially in this summer humidity. I did recently find what I think of as a miracle product and that is the dry shampoo by Dry Bar. I've tried other dry shampoos, but they never seem to do much for me. They seemed to weigh my hair down, but not this one. It works amazingly well for me. Because my hair is thin, it gets very limp and greasy looking very quickly, this particular brand actually absorbs the oil, provides lift and volume, so I now shampoo much less than the every other day schedule I have had for most of my adult life. The one drawback is the price, it is quite expensive. I'm going to see if I can't get your method to work for me.

    • @twominutetips
      @twominutetips  8 лет назад

      Thanks Lisa - I've tried dry shampoo and not really a fan as my hair feels too gritty with it. The other think I forgot to mention and similar to backcombing is just roughing up the roots and first couple of inches of our hair with our fingers in a kind of scratching motion - it really does puff out the hair. Actually though I use a combination of roughing up and backcombing.

    Have you ever tried dried shampoo Sharon for added volume? It's what I use for when I do buns etc I use Battiste and it can be found at Shoppers. Just in case you wanted to try it out. IF you do decide to try the dry shampoo make sure you shake the can well and hold it far away from the section of hair.

    • @twominutetips
      @twominutetips  8 лет назад

      Thanks Sarah, I've tried a couple of different dry shampoos and am not that impressed or like the way it makes my hair feel. And I'd still have to backcomb anyway. But thank you just the same.

      Actually I made this bumpit myself - very easy with synthetic hair close to your colouring and wrap a simply fine hair net around it. Here's a video about it I did to. ruclips.net/video/VHzokH8dHMk/видео.html

    Hi Sharon, I've just watched some of your older videos about hair and it would be incredibly helpful if you could list some of your products used and if possible where you buy them. I've been using hair scrunchies and some extensions for many years and finding them is difficult. I live in Victoria and do not have a Trade Secrets. They no longer appear to list the scrunchies and bangs. Your help would be very much appreciated. Thank you!! Susanne

    • @twominutetips
      @twominutetips  8 лет назад

      Thanks, but I don't use anything special - believe me. Just hair spray and a regular shampoo and conditioner. The industry would have us think products make all the difference in the world and give us the hairstyle of our dreams. Not so. Yes there are products that each person needs for their specific hair type, but honestly the range is small. The more important skill is learning how to style which takes practice. Now that I have wavey hair I do use Curl Keeper Original when I shampoo, but I am not sponsored by them as stated in the video. As far as hair appliances are concerned, its true that gray hair is difficult to come by and in my videos on hair extensions there are links in the description boxes for Uniwigs which is where I bought some. And scrunchie can be found on line. If you join us at facebook.com/groups/goingray.lovinit I have a plethora of information in our files which you will most likely find useful. Hope this helps.

    • @sharonhanna5179
      @sharonhanna5179 7 лет назад

      I am letting mine grow. I had it long about 4 years ago...about your length...then got a wild hair and got it cut. Wasn't happy with short hair because long hair is so much more versatile...in my opinion anyway. I am patiently waiting for mine to get long again. I have the hair scrunchies like you use sometimes...or showed in your review and I also bought a clip in pony tail...but it is Platinum...the closest thing I could get ...or afford...close to my pretty much solid white color..except for right in the back. I was a natural blonde in my youth.

    • @twominutetips
      @twominutetips  7 лет назад

      Bravo for using hair scrunchies and other hair accoutrements. With summer coming and wear it up a lot, by Fall you'll notice more growth. I agree that longer does give some good options, and I've seen and styled quite a variety of looks for short hair too.

    • @sharonhanna5179
      @sharonhanna5179 7 лет назад

      Thanks. Mine is just about long enough to put it up without using a scrunchy if I so wish. I just watched your video about tattooed eyebrows. I got my eyebrows, eyeline and lips done about 3 years ago and have really enjoyed them. I will NEVER get my lips done again because it was so painful and it took forever to heal...no infection at all...just being on the lips and having to move my lips to eat, drink etc. it was awful! They looked great and I still have enough color to not look like a dead person when I wake up. LOL. Thanks again for such great videos! Oh...one thing. I'm having a hard time finding a lighter gray eyebrow pencil for when I want to make my brows look a different way. I think manufacturers/beauty houses are just now finding out that we...the older ladies...are out here and wanting products that suit us!

    • @twominutetips
      @twominutetips  7 лет назад

      Yup - brow pencils and white and light gray extensions are extremely hard to come by. The beauty industry only caters to the demographic that buys just about anything without questioning or they sell dreams of living forever with anti-aging whatever. Argh.
