Although I feel like I am able to express emotions well, I definitely have noticed a lot of resistance to particular emotions likely purely due to conditioning. People saying oh, you can’t show that in this situation, etc.
It’s part of customer service that really drains me is having to smile all of the time. It’s impossible to be happy all of the time, why is that expected? It’s so inauthentic. 🤷🏻♀️
I recommend “break through difficult emotions” by Shinzen Young, great short audiobook on this
What does it mean if I can't help bursting into laughter when I find people ridiculous in serious situations?
I try to remember this.
Does an emotion need to be expressed outwardly to be real? Happy or sad outburst? Or is just me realizing it enough?
Every expression is different but it seems usually just feeling/acknowledging is all that's called for
@redrockengineer yup. I get that.
Dunno if it's my natural British disinclinaation... but yes, for me it's either an internal acknowledgement...or laughter at the beautiful absurdity of life... which just makes me laugh 🤷♀️
I would respectfully disagree with the gentleman who stated that emotions are survival signals. As a while they are not. Fear is initially but it fades quickly has the adrenaline pushes blood and hormones from your adrenaline glands up to your brain. After 2 or 3 seconds of the hormone flood you find lucidity that is none emotional and purely primal.
It is in the wane of those hormones that emotions are released. Memories locked and analytical review of our actions occur.
Survival is primal. Emotion is higher. We have to process our part and others' parts in our traumas.
Absolute truth zubin hard to deal with in the normal here in the netherlands we where so progressive and a lot of common sense its gone and makes me sad and angry i have to use to it
