I often think health and safety has gone too far these days, however not around these very powerful animals. I grew up in a village and we never petted animals around our farms. They deserve the respect of their carers at all times. I have observed none of the tourists actually view this historic seen through their own eyes. The wretched cameras have taken over. The horses aren’t mainly stressed, most enjoy the attention they get! However I do remember some of the horses from my time😩 if the back of the box had been opened when Rochester was in there and that had happened there would have been carnage🫣 For those who know Rochester kicked forward as well😩

Most of them have never been close to a horse before. I'm surprised that most children don't find the sheer size of the horses intimidating. I regularly visit a bird of prey centre where they do flying demonstrations and the commentator will say something like "If one of our birds lands next to you please do not poke or stroke them as they may poke or stroke you back and you wouldn't like it." Something similar needed here.

I am not sure you are meant to speak to the guards. They are not permitted to speak to to you, except for commanding you to move bacķ, or make way etc.
The guards are not supposed to interact with the public, but will yell at anyone who grabs the reins. If you watch carefully, you may see a guard acknowledge someone who they recognise as an old army veteran, by giving a small nod.

The man with the boy was incredibly foolish to walk up behind a horse like that and through the sentry box. If the horse had been startled by his sudden close appearance, there could well have been a kick.

I can't even imagine how much pain a horse's kick can give someone. My grandmother, when she was a child, did get bitten by a horse. This happened in the winter when she was wearing a heavy, thick coat. In spite of that coat, she had a nasty bruise. People do not think of potential consequences🙄.

I also recall that some years back, the Queen advertised for Cleveland Bay geldings, in exchange for a similar number of mares, for the Royal Artillery.

My thoughts have always been that like dogs, horses just don't like the scent of some people. Also, probably some of these people have been snacking on something, and the horse smells it, so they try to find the source of the scent. We used to have one that could smell peppermint if someone walked by that had recently had one, and tried to find it.
This is just so stupid and once again the police aren't doing their job. The rear end of the box has been opened because the next guard is going to come in behind in a matter of minutes.

I used to ride when I was younger, and I don't think that I have ever seen horses that tall. Just how tall are they? They are beautiful animals and they are so well behaved to have people who just come up and pet them. They are very patient and on some days, they seem a bit cranky. Mmm I don't blame them for it though because they seem to have to do it daily. I bet that the guards and the horses as glad when their shift is over and they can get to go back and rest.

They are beautiful animals and they are so well behaved to have people who just come up and pet them. They are very patient and on some days, they seem a bit cranky. Mmm I don't blame them for it though because they seem to have to do it daily. I bet that the guards and the horses as glad when their shift is over and they can get to go back and rest.

I would have yelled that man. I would always say thank you to the guard. They need to rope off n if they try n climb over yell at them They act as though they never seen a horse n by the way people this isn't Disney Land.

Theses poor guards 💂 and horses firstly there there to do a job yes it’s ok for visitors to want a photo but from other video’s I’ve seen it’s not ok to smack the horse and it’s definitely not ok to make fun or put your hands on the kings guard 💂♀️ there doing there job and have set routes they must walk …so please visitors remember that also remember if someone did that to you doing your job how would you feel…shoe some respect to the kings guard 💂♀️ and horses
7:10 when father not a father lead his child in danger zone. Where is King Charles , need a new sign board saying do not go through the horse box it will kick you and don’t go too close to the guard horse . I feel sorry for the guard have to these to leave the reins don’t hold the reins.
