The guard gave her a chance to let go before yelling at her but she was oblivious. Then she did the shocked stare at the guard as if she was the villain.
That horse was clearly calm and used to tourists but there were far too many people crowding round it. Either the police should prevent this or the horses and guards should have a barrier around them.
It would be difficult to have a barrier around the horses, as they need room to move from the site, every hour. Also they can be spooked or become restless and would need room. Visitors should be more aware the site, in this video, is the Guards and horses place of work and they should be allowed to carry out their duties unhindered. Therefore it is visitors who should have a barrier, not the Guards and horses. What can clearly be seen in this video is visitors lack of respect for the Guard and horse, which is shameful.
Paint a red semi circle around the horse and guard with the words DO NOT CROSS. Still free movement for change of guard, photos etc. but the horse is left alone.
@@vickytownsend1646 Thanks, but someone said it can't be done because it is a public footpath. Oh well . . . maybe another sign on the wall with a horse in a red circle and a line through it?
This poor horse had so many people touching his/her face. Why can't people just LOOK and not feel they have to stroke/touch the poor animal. This is a horse and guard who are on duty not there to be petted.
This one seemed pretty tolerant, even friendly. Other than a couple spots where he (she?) was starting to look overwhelmed, he was basically just going with it - eyes not freaked, ears positioned in what I read as "Yeah boss, I'm listening" with one, back at his rider, and "Who are you? Are you friendly? Got something for me to eat?" with the other at most of the tourists. For a capper, I noticed several times that he was standing there hipshot, with a hoof cocked off the flat. That's generally not a sign of anything but "I'm just standin' here chillin' and makin' sure the heavy lookin'-on gets done proper-like" in the horses I've known during my 50-odd years of making my living with and amongst 'em.

The shouted rebuke gets an instant response, preventing any mishap that could occur from handling the reins. Those are the horse guard's method of controlling her horse, and if they are interfered with, the horse could react and someone could get hurt. It's the correct response from the rider.

I think most of them are doing it to steady themselves, but it shouldn’t be happening. I agree they need a sign, so that it’s more obvious that they needn’t touch at all!
