16:47ish, so nice to hear your complimenting American tourists respect for the Guard. Too often we hear about the "Ugly American".Thank you, as an American.
I'm pleasantly surprised, so far. I'm waiting for the loud, obnoxious college boys. So far our American brothers and sisters are behaving very well. We do actually have manners, believe it or not.
The two horses that came into the Yard during the heavy rain? One of them was a Clydesdale: the bigger horse on the right with the beautiful white 'Feathers' on its legs. There was a time when this breed was on the edge of extinction, until a group of breeders brought the breed back. This particular breed originates from Scotland.
The lady guard is bloody brilliant, she shouts at people and then just eyeballs them until they go fantastic, can be feeling so low and watch your videos John soon get cheered up, the way the guards look at people really as me to stitches 😂😂

Those rain coat ponchos are also a great deterrent to pickpocketers. Everything is under cover. You would feel if someone tried to get anything. In french it would be Touche pas les lignes. Don't touch the lines or reins in this case. Go home and dry yourself off my friend!!! Most people from the US that have travelled have been to Arlington National Cemetery, or have at least heard of it. After all, I believe our ceremonial guard is based on British tradition.
Wow. No not Monty, only 1 white sock. Kenny (left) and Indianna (right). Beautiful duo, must be brothers, so alike. 😁 The 3 police horses were Bullseye, Wilma, and huge Yeoman!
She doesn't need a speaker . . the Spanish always shout at everything. I live in Spain and there is a good reason why they shout, It goes back to Franco days when there was trouble if caught whispering or talking Quiet.
Thank you. I've just been reading "Homage to Catalonia" by George Orwell and that's an awesome little historical fact. It's quite amazing how the realities of living under a totalitarian regime can echo down through the decades and give rise to cultural quirks like this.

I was an Army brat, so I ask about where they were stationed and things like that because I know where my uncles and cousins were during WWII.

John, there are good reasons why US citizens are respectful of military. To quote a very popular song lyric "I'm out here on the front line. Sleep in peace tonight. I'm an American soldier". We are, as anyone can tell you, a fiercely patriotic people. That includes total respect for anyone who signs on to be willing to die for the rest of us. We also respect your soldiers. In the southern US we even pull our cars to the curb, get out and place our hands over our hearts or salute if a vet, when a funeral procession drives by. Hope that explains us a bit. Thanks for the positive comments. We are more or less used to being maligned so you are refreshing.
I'm confused as in part one, he kept saying it was a rainy Wednesday and then he's just said about the Chelsea pensioner selling poppies, as its the 11th on Sunday. It was March 11th yesterday, Monday and of course, poppies are only sold near to remembrance day, in November. Is this a repeat for some reason?
