    Question can the throttle be switch to the right stick instead of the left stick and loosen the springs on the right stick instead of the left

    • @TheReelRahim
      @TheReelRahim  2 года назад +5

      Yes, by default is left stick for throttle which is Mode 2. You can switch to Mode 1 in the goggles menu, making everything flip to throttle right. Then you can tighten the right side F2 fully (finger tight is fine). This would loosen the sticks till there is almost no more spring tension in your throttle. Then screw in F1 to give the desired friction that you need. Hope that helps.

      Just what I'm looking for. I'm new to fpv and also more used to have the throttle on the right hand stick. So it's possible too in Manual mode / acro to have the throttle on the right hand side?

      Tanks man, hope it works out well for you. Fly abit, and you will notice if you like the F2 to be more or less friction. More is ok for smooth flying, but i prefer less for freestyle as you will need to bleep the throttle quite often. So its a matter of preference. Just bring the tool along on the field.

      Its odd, but gets e job done 😅🤟🏽. Just remember that the friction in F1 is very dependent on user preferences. Like if u wanna fly smooth, u may want more friction, but u may want looser for freestyle throttle blipping. Find a sweet spot, and it will make for an enjoyable flight experience. See u in the skies 🤟🏽

      How should I tighten my sticks for the best flight? My right stick controls throttle and yaw. Left stick controls pitch and roll. I currently have recentering disabled on both, and left stick slightly looser than right.

    • @TheReelRahim
      @TheReelRahim  2 года назад +1

      Oh man, thats something for my head to get around. 😅. So likely u are Mode 1 pilot. I cant really say how much, coz its more of pilot needs. Like for me (Mode 2, throttle left), i need my throttle without any spring tension (fully tighten F2), but i need some friction resistance (add F1). And i will add or reduce depending on how i feel the controls are working with me in flights. So advice is, the sweet spot for me is enough resistance for the whole throttle range, but not too much that it gets difficult and tiring when i do throttle bleeps. Maybe this could be your guideline. Hope that helps

    • @NickWeaver
      @NickWeaver 2 года назад

      @@TheReelRahim Thanks so much, that does help a lot. Only thing I'm wondering now is: How do you have the other stick set (not the throttle stick but the other one), and what does moving that stick side to side control--yaw or roll?

    Hello Rahim, I have just purchased an Avata and I plan to do indoor fly-through videos often with normal mode and horizon lock. I need to keep one constant pitch (speed) for the entire flythrough as I can always do the speed ramps in the post. I believe Throttle and Yaw are the ones I would need to keep moving. And as I am more comfortable with my right hand, I plan to switch to mode 1 so that these two, switch to the right side and then follow the steps you mentioned here to tighten the left control which in my case, would be for the Pitch. Is this right or there is something I am missing? Thanks a ton.

    Hi, how to stoped motors from controller?

    • @TheReelRahim
      @TheReelRahim  2 года назад +1

      Hi, this is for Manual Mode:
      1) Not Updated:
      - Right side of controller, press 'Start/Stop'. Maybe need to press twice, sorry cant remember as i have updated firmware.
      2) Updated to latest Firmware:
      - in goggles at Contoller Settings, set 3-way switch. Of the 3 positions, 2 will be OFF, one will be ON
      - I use this as its common for me as a DIY FPV pilot to use switches instead of buttons to ON/OFF motors.
      Remember that u need to bring throttle to 0 before switching ON motors, but to switch off, it doesnt matter throttle position. BUT that means drone can be switched OFF even while flying

    • @TheReelRahim
      @TheReelRahim  11 месяцев назад

      Sorry i missed this. PERFECTLY FINE. The only difference is that you will not have the drone easily hover in place in N and S modes. No need to re-tighten the screws. Just estimate the position of the throttle if you are in goggles. If you see that the drone is nicely hovering in place, then all good. There is quite a tolerance in the centre of the stick in N and S modes, so there is no need to be pin-point accurate to get it hovering in place. Hope this helps

I am a beginner into FPV and wanted something cinematic to fly so decided to get the dji Avata fly more combo with the dji fpv controller 2. One doubt that I have, the controller has Normal, Sports and Manual. If I loosen the screws behind the controller now, then if I want to fly in normal mode can I fly or do I need to redo what I did.

    • @TheReelRahim

      Hi and thanks for watching the episodes! Hope they have sufficiently helped you get to the skies safely. You do not need to reset the screws. You can fly N and S just fine. Go ahead and give it a try. Just that now, you will need to manually bring the throttle stick back to centre EVEN while you are in goggles . Remember that in N and S modes, that stick is Altitude control. So just adjust high or low till you begin hovering, and that will be where centre is. Eventually you will not care anymore and just wanna maintain hover and ur good to go.

    If I often switch flying from normal to manual mode, is it still recommended to adjust the throttle stick to not be springloaded? When it's springloaded I struggle with it when flying manual, but is the drone still nice to fly in normal or sport mode with the throttle not being springloaded?

    • @TheReelRahim
      @TheReelRahim  2 года назад +9

      Its not as nice definitely without spring load, but i know in N and S modes, i can afford to make late adjustments in flight. Id rather have no spring load in Manual mode as there is little tolerance for mistakes, and so ill need e best reactions on the sticks. Also if i the pilot had an emergency, i could always drop e throttle and let it crash. If it auto spings back to centre, its gonna send e drone thats still in Manual mode TO THE MOON 🤣

    • @TheReelRahim

      Actually just loosen both the screws until you do not feel resistance in the screw threads. Careful with that as you do not want to fully unscrew the grub screws until they fall out. Just enough till you get the sticks back to self-centering. Hope that helps.

      @@TheReelRahim I made two extensions out of the 2mm posts I took out of one quad when I upgraded to the O3. First I made 9mm extensions as that would match the height of the big black DJI box I'm used to flying. But that seemed too tall, so I made some 6mm ones. Flew that for a while and switched back to the 9mm. The height is right, but the body of the DJI stick is smooth, I need something prickly. Amazon is the only place that has them - those are too long and I hate Amazon (they stole $277.20 from me, but that's another story.) I'll probably end up designing and making some. I'll let you know when I do.
      Have you had any trouble with the RC2 saying sticks out of range or some such error message? I had it pop up in goggles yesterday, rebooted everything and it went away, but I've seen others say the same and it's somehow related to the adjustments we do to make the sticks as you describe in your vid.

    What happen when using stabil or norrmal mode? How to hover? Keep the throttle centered or down?

    • @TheReelRahim
      @TheReelRahim  7 месяцев назад

      Sorry I missed this. Been away for awhile. So aniways if you switch to N or S modes, all you need to do is keep the throttle around the centre of the controls. No need to look at the controls, just see in the goggles. Just adjust the stick position to whether the drone is hovering in place or moving upwards or downwards. In N or S modes, the stick will not be as sensitive to input. So that means that as long as you are generally putting the stick in the centre, then the drone will hover in place. Another good way is to observe your "H" at the bottom left of the screen. Its for Height/Altitude, and is a better gauge to whether the drone is hovering at that altitude. Hope that helps.

    Great content as usual. Is there any benefit to loosening the right to make it more nimble with less spring tension or am I looking for trouble, Rah? I got my DJI FPV quad a few weeks ago but I'm waiting until my Avata arrives to start in acro mode even though I'm sure I could fly the FPV no problem. The Avata was my answer to indoor flying this winter instead of getting a cinelog 35 and having to deal with betaflight and all the things that don't involve actually being in the air.

    • @TheReelRahim
      @TheReelRahim  2 года назад +1

      We all love that we can fine-tune our drone to perfection. And that was what the DIY drones could give. But here is the thing, i have a Cinelog25 myself and i realised that when i got it, i didnt give a shit anymore. lol! All i did was throw in rates that im familiar with and sent it. BOX STOCK and it has been a year and more! didnt care for filters, fine tuning etc. Just send it! and yes, im in comfort zone with the DJI FPV and Avata. Safety features present, personal rates in and just got it up in the air. Yes i got adapters and i used DIY props on my DJI FPV, but that was pretty much it. Just to have options on props. So anyways just for clarity, im a Mode 2 pilot. I only have my throttle (left stick) loosened and nothing else. No adjustment on the right stick. Someone else did so and crashed on landing as it didnt keep the drone level since the sticks were not perfectly centered. Nothing to stop you from trying, but i wouldn't recommend it. Anyways welcome to FPV and i'll see you in the skies friend!

    Great video! Thanks for the insights :) May I ask which flight simulator software you use? Got a quick question regarding the throttle. Thanks! I use Velocidrone and for easy on-the-go with my Android phone, i use this:
      ruclips.net/video/9WY297mYwzs/видео.html
      About the hover in place, its likely shaky hands. Im assuming you mean hover in Manual mode. Its not easy to do so in Manual mode, as throttle is on your full control. When I try to hover, im actually making micro, VERY MICRO bleeping of the throttle to keep it in place, and gets way harder to do so if its a windy day. So no fret, it takes awhile to really hover the drone in M mode.

      In one of the firmware updates, u can start assigning the right 3-way switch to on/off motors, but only avail in Manual Mode. Useful for me, as its common practice for DIY drone pilots to have a dedicated switch to arm/disarm motors.
