  • Embark on a detailed exploration of the Toyota Crown's lighting system. Discover how its full proximity key system works with the vehicle's lights, including the activation of side mirror lights that serve as approach lights. Understand the functionality of the interior lights, which turn on with the unlock button, while exterior lights remain off until manually activated.
    Learn about the parking lights, featuring bright LED daytime running strips, and assess their brightness and potential for being mistaken as headlights. Observe the amber front and red rear side markers, as well as the stylish red tail lights that almost span the vehicle's width.
    Examine the turn signals' design and effectiveness, both in the front and on the side mirrors, and the distinct red rear turn signals. Join me as I test the low beams, a multi-projector system with an auto-leveling feature, and their cutoff point.
    Experience the difference with the high beams, where an additional light enhances the beam, and assess their effectiveness in various driving conditions.
    Discover the shortcomings of the trunk lighting, with a dim central light inadequately illuminating the cargo area. Learn about the vehicle's interior lighting, including backlit buttons, ambient lights, and reading lights, and how they perform in different settings.
    See how the Toyota Crown handles visibility challenges on the road, especially with its automatic high beam feature and auto-leveling system. Gain insights into the performance of both low and high beams, understanding their effectiveness and areas where improvements could be beneficial.
    Whether you're a Toyota enthusiast or considering a new Crown, this video offers a comprehensive review of the vehicle's lighting system, providing a balanced perspective on its strengths and weaknesses.

    Mike, I never thought about how important your "night reviews" are until tonight. Yes, they've always been enjoyable but that lack of light in the trunk is not acceptable. I drive an older baby Lexus and I have a light in the center console.......so why did Toyota miss that here? I'm sure the Avalon had a light in the center console, which this car replaces. I think every Toyota Crown should be sold with a "Mike's Personally Autographed Pointer" included.......(w/ the MPAP Package.) 😎💡🔦

    Nice. Wished toyota wound have made the rear turn signals amber instead of red. Never liked the brake and turn signals being the same.

    Bought the 2nd 2023 Crown in our state. Yes, interior lights are weird AND I feel the back seats sit to high because of the batteries. My tall grandsons and son, son-in-law are to tall for the backseat. That is one thing we NEVER thought about before buying. It's a great car, I was hoping for the perfect car at 60k. But, unless you are shorter it's great in the backseat. Lol

    rear turn signals are red, L for Toyota passing on the Crown. Why do manufacturers do this?

    Amazing review! Clearly Toyota needs to work on the Crown if it's expecting customers to dish out $50K (all-in) on the vehicle

      I doubt they will sell a lot of this car. It's in a weird price point where you're in the entry luxury point and it's a sedan where the competition is even tighter. If it was a replacement for the Avalon and starting at 35k maybe but for 45K starting I don't see this being a hot seller.

    still in 2023 adaptive high beam not allowed in US!!
    in my region we got adaptive high-beam

    Thanks for the video. I just realized I've been driving my brand new car at night with the "daytime lights" on because I'm not used to having LED lights lol. Those headlights are pretty bright. I thought the dealership accidentally put my high beams on, and since the cabin lighting isn't that great, I just picked the setting that looked right while driving home. The daytime lights are about as bright, if not brighter, than my 2005 Honda accord's headlights.

    Mike, does the front trim parallel to the DRL led light up. I'm taking about that clear trim under the hood that looks like a wrap across led light

    Our Ram 1500 has a wonderful amount of interior lighting. This really misses the mark.

    • @MikesCarInfo
      @MikesCarInfo  4 месяца назад

      RAM and Ford do a great job with lighting. They design the vehicle to benefit the user.
      Toyotas and some other brands are mostly just designed to sell. They know most buyers will not test the vehicle at night before buying so they just do the bare minimum.

    How to ebable the large LED light on the front? Japan and other countries have that light enable, why not in the USA?

    • @MikesCarInfo
      @MikesCarInfo  6 месяцев назад

      What Large LED? The largest LED in the front of the car is the high beam headlight. It turns on when the high beams are enabled. Shown in the video.
