Mark Mullins really? You agree with a man who didnt provide for his family and then has an affair with a stewardess and abandons his wife for a younger woman? Lol
I love how Rose and Blanch hate Stan even though he didn’t do anything to them. They love Dorothy so much that the will hate someone that has hurt there friend. Friendship GOALS
The writer's did the character of Stanley some big time justice. He is introduced as a low brow man who left his wife for a younger woman and he ends up not only with a big heart but driving his ex-wife, in style to her wedding and when the priest asks if anyone objects, although he is hurt, he knows he wants her happiness and accepts it. The touch of genius in his transition from point A to point B is well scripted, well acted and very classy.
I was just talking about this same thing with my ex wife a while ago. As much as they hated each other, in the end, they were actually better as friends than married.
@@perrywalton2464 Rose saying she doesn't like taking pills in one episode because it makes her slap happy, yet her admitting that she was addicted to taking sleeping pills is one of them, there was a peep hole in the front door, when Sofia thought the grim reaper was after her, only for it to dissapear in all of the other previous/future episodes.
"I just came from the hospital, they told me Sophia was discharged. Is she here?" "No I haven't taken her out of the trunk of the car yet..." Great acting and great writing
Hilarious exchange and also touching because in spite of the hurt and the divorce Stan still cares for his former mother in law and wants to be sure she’s ok.

I love at 4:14 after Dorothy says 'no i can't' you can hear a single audience member laugh a little as she goes to get the door. They know what's gonna happen and they are loving it. That's a good recurring joke. One that even if someone knows it's coming and they have seen it before they still laugh.
It's a sign of good writing where a reoccuring joke is still funny. They know that door, a quirky set-up, and Stan are perfect segways. The writers of this show were absolutely superb with the Golden Girls.

So Blanche had been getting media reporters after her and getting calls from them, so we all thought it was one such call. Turns out it was just Stan 😂

The only running gag as funny as Dorothy insulting Stan right into the face is Blanche slamming the door behind herself ...right into his face! 😆👌🏻 And the way Blanche spits out Stan on the phone - That's solidarity, sister! 👏🏻
I love how Stanley divorced Dorothy because he couldn't stand her, but keeps coming back to her for advice because he literally can't live without her. As revealed in a flashback during a visit to his mother's house.

My mom and dad also sit down and watch it with me sometimes and we just laugh and have a good time. The running gag of Dorothy slamming the door in Stan’s face always was so good to add to the show.
I wish he could have gotten a best supporting actors award. Because he was there over the years with them also. And he had to act out those scenes as well.
Why does he always introduce himself as if they don't know him😂😂😂😂 and I love how they always slams the door at his face especially blanche its like she forgets he is following her
It always cracked me up how he introduced himself like they had no idea who he was.

Actually, he took advantage of them and ruined their things (Blanche's date, Rose's bowl) when he stayed with them after he had heart surgery.
It's *Blanche* . About the rest I very much agree!
I don't think Rose hated him, it was mostly the others. Though, I don't think she liked him either.
I was thinking the same thing and then trying to pinpoint specific reasons why they disliked him.
I think it was more annoyance than hate for the most part.

You forgot another one, when Stan bought Dorothy her wedding ring back when she sold it to pay her half of her tax debt when they were married.
