I was just thinking this too recently. The fact that a game that basically started getting conceptualized in the 80s STILL has solid mechanics, graphics, music etc in 2023 is insane. Street Fighter 2 seriously has a case for being the greatest video game in history.
@@chiarosuburekeni9325 It's not about that point. All other fgs that had strong roots and still follow them are very solid today. It's a matter of repetition. And while I'm at that: SF's bigger popularity has nothing to do with those mechanics being superior to other fgs, which just isn't true. The main matter here is that SF2 was the early fg with the best original base mechanics. Combined with great presentation, music and roster. It's an early fg that got so many ideas extremely well thought AND well executed. When we see much more complex games that also are very well executed since the early titles like Guilty Gear, but this franchise is literally 10 years late than SF. Even though it's still worth of praise but it's not as much impressive because it takes advantage of many references invented by SF. That's the point. The timing and the influence of all those early ideas.
@@mechanomics2649 yeah I would say street fighter 3 third strike could be considered one of the best games of all time in general. But sf2 NAHHH not best games but maybe best fighting games
Wow the first ever hadouken was not blue!! this is really a surprise for me I always though was blue This move is LEGENDARY Love the video keep going the great work👊🏻
I like the street fighter 4 era Ryu hadouken. I think visually it’s the best. When it makes contact it looks like the opponent is engulfed in flames as you can see the fire dissipate from the opponents back
As SF went on and also having different dev teams, it's interesting to see the difference of vision about how to design the Hadouken. Mainly the projectile size but also all the special effects. Of course I don't mean how MvC Hadouken are bigger... MvC (and TvC) Hadoukens must be compared separately . I mean the differences between the SFA and the CvS Hadoukens for example. Or SF4 and SF5 Hadoukens (and now SF6 version too). So the devs never set a visual "model". But maybe it's better that way. More creative freedom.
I love seeing Ryu's hadoken in Marvel vs Street Fighter, Marvel vs Capcom 1 and 2, Street Fighter EX Plus Alpha and EX2 Plus, Street Fighter Alpha 3, and many others
Only noticed this the other day but in street fighter 6 when his hadoken connects with an opponent you see cupped hands behind the fireball just like when he throws it . Thought that was a really cool detail.
Takashi Nishiyama said he was inspired by the Wave Motion Gun called Hado Ho in japanese, a powerful weapon from the Space Battleship Yamato anime series
The WMG is great, absolute classic, and definitely inspired a lot of the classic anime force blasts, pre'sure Dragon Ball's Kamehameha draws from the same well(and conversely, DB is likely the well that was probably drawn from when giving VsCapcom Ryu Laser Hadous, since DB/Z was huge)
@@syrelianbut the creator never said he was inspired by db kamehamha and also the haduken and kamehameha position was inspired by fist of the North Star because kenshiro did it first in of the fights so both were inspired by kenshiro 👍🏼
Neat detail someone else pointed out, there's the shadow of his hands hidden in the SF6 fireball, you can see it most clearly for a few frames as he throws it, and when it connects
All my lunch money was converted to quarters and fed into the Street Fighter II machine at 7-11 before I got on the bus to go to school 8th-9th grade. I would dine on food kicked down by kids that got free lunch.
Waiting in a que to play Street Fighter 2 at the Aracde hearing the sounds of the epic sound track and Ha do ken are treasured memories , my favourite sound track was Ryu Stage , everything about the production was tight on Street Fighter 2 I remember my friend finally got to the end boss and beat him , it was really intense and on the edge of your seat , and a round of applause 👏 from people watching ...... also back then I remeber that M.Bison was the Boxer and Balrog was the last boss , for some reason they switch around the names when the game landed on consoles , ahhh those where the dayzzz.
in what game did ryu have a full screen hadouken that looks like a kamehameha? i think it was a ps1 game but i cant fint it anymore, it was a super attack that cost bar and not the normal "free" hadouken.
Wow. Interesting that Xmen vs SF still kept the image of his fists inside the hadoken. SNK vs Capcom also kept it. You can see a vague hint of it in SF4 and SF5. It's very visible again in Marvel vs Capcom infinite. Again faintly visible in SF6 after that. I find these creative decisions interesting.
0:31 I really like Ryu Hoshi's hadoukens in SF the Movie the Game (arcade) He is the master of 'Fireballs'! Something that this video didn't show is that after he fires his projectile he can make it going backwards! 😆 I would love a new shoto character having that kind of control for his/her projectiles
On my opinion, the BEST FEATURE of Ryu's Hadouken is in Super Street Fighter 2: The New Challengers and Super Street Fighter 2X The Grandmaster Challenge or commonly known as Super Street Fighter II Turbo👍🏻
Esse primeiro Street Fight eu me lembro 🤩 é demais 😱 suprendente uma ótima noite meu Herói ❤️que Deus abençoe sempre todos nós 🙏😇 abraços de seu fã Upi Vitória SEMPRE 🌀 Jonny cage Wins The flawers Victory Plimmmmmm Excelente ❤️ Fitallity 🔋

The way he yells "hado-o-o-ken" in og SF2 is the best.
Street Fighter ll was the best thought out game of all time. All characters have memorable moves, memorable themes, memorable scenarios.

Naruto - Rasangan
Don't know how I got here, but this compilation should be on the youtube top

I think that it can be said to show Ryu's evolution and mastery of it.
I love seeing Ryu's hadoken in Marvel vs Street Fighter, Marvel vs Capcom 1 and 2, Street Fighter EX Plus Alpha and EX2 Plus, Street Fighter Alpha 3, and many others
The shakunetsu hadoken is so powerful that it change the height of the people hitted by it
Only noticed this the other day but in street fighter 6 when his hadoken connects with an opponent you see cupped hands behind the fireball just like when he throws it . Thought that was a really cool detail.
You can see it for a few frames at the start as well, a cute callback to the SF2 design
Arguably one of the most important moves in fighting game history.
Without projectiles fighting games would be VERY different

Street Fighter II is the classic. But I love how it is a homage to Dragon Ball's Kamehameha.
I think Street Fighter the movie Ryu took some inspiration from the Rainbow edition.
Probably 😆
Ryu in Street Fighter the Movie the Game (arcade) is one of my favorites in terms of gameplay 👍
Inspirational, as you get older, you become more powerful
i think you mean, as Ryu's gotten older, they've nerfed his hadoken to do less than 5%-6% damage which is disgusting from his original power.
You said that Ryu was inspirational? GTAB
Ryu's hadouken was very powerful that could crush off the enemy.
1:24 the special is a super haduken in this game! where is this? hehehe
Nice that you included the og red hadoken glitch from OG SF2
I wish they kept ryu’s regular hadouken in mvc1 and used it in mvc2. The fireball looks different but not as cool as the first one
The JP version of the arcade Street Fighter I, Ryu will shout "Hadoken!" Instead of "Psycho Fire!"
I thought Ryu said "flying tiger" in Sf1 in the US version.
@@awsomkid3735Me "ball of fire" instead.
In the first Street Fighter, it was really tough to doing
My fave bit was the bit where he did a haduken and shouted haduken!
I'm happy to see some of his original fireballs.(fireball with his hand shadow). I played sf2, so his fireball were the original for me
Neat detail someone else pointed out, there's the shadow of his hands hidden in the SF6 fireball, you can see it most clearly for a few frames as he throws it, and when it connects
2:11 SNK and SNK2 Effect is the best. Pronunciation and Punchiness of the sound. That's what Ryu would sound like in real life
Missed the non charged S version in umvc3 where he shoots consecutive hadoukens.
Awesome 👍😎
The second burns in mind forever. Memories
0:32 is the only time the hands are inverted. It's always nearest arm at the bottom but In that one it's nearest one at the top.
Thanks for this, one of the sounds and posture that I still do to people even though I'm 55 years old 😂👍
🙏💚🌍🙌
0:55 my personal favorite. Love that they reused it in MvC2
Every other Ryu appearance : HADOKEN!!
Street Fighter : The movie : HOW-DO-KEN!!
All my lunch money was converted to quarters and fed into the Street Fighter II machine at 7-11 before I got on the bus to go to school 8th-9th grade. I would dine on food kicked down by kids that got free lunch.
From a energy ball into a kamehameha
I like the part when he does hadouken
That’s my favorite part also
Same
I like the part when says mystical fire
Which part was that? I mudt have missed it
Alternative title: Ryu bullying people with his hadoken
They still hurt after all these years.😸
Waiting in a que to play Street Fighter 2 at the Aracde hearing the sounds of the epic sound track and Ha do ken are treasured memories , my favourite sound track was Ryu Stage , everything about the production was tight on Street Fighter 2

With ryu super gem fighter mini mix cute design, i was expecting him call "hadouken" with his high pitched voice from alpha series
For all these years...
always loved the way the hadoken looked in tatsunoko and smash 4.
Is this where goku got kamehameha?
Goku came out before ryu so it's ryu got it from and I love it 🥰
its not even same thing
In Pokemon, Lucario's Aura Sphere is really a variation of Hadouken. Aura Sphere in Japanese version is called Hadoudan
Nice video, but woulda been great if you put the names of all the games in lower thirds
3:34 or 3:50 ? Which one would you pick?
in what game did ryu have a full screen hadouken that looks like a kamehameha?
i think it was a ps1 game but i cant fint it anymore, it was a super attack that cost bar and not the normal "free" hadouken.
The Marvel vs games
El Ataque Famoso De Ryu Se Acelera Más Y Más
Hadouken suddenly became a Haoh Shokoken in the 2D Versus Marvel games. Then a blue Optic Blast in part 4.
Ryu has some identity crisis going there.
Always interesting to compare which Hadoukens have hands inside the fireball and which ones don't. It seems about 50:50.
You should add the clip of Veldora spamming Hadouken from the slime anime season 2 part 2 episode 11
Man! This guy was in his prime in the first game.
You only missed the air versions in MvC1 but it's a small detail

The nostalgia is real😢
Old ryu be like:
HADoOOoOOken
0:31 I really like Ryu Hoshi's hadoukens in SF the Movie the Game (arcade)

Feels like the producers researched Rainbow edition pirate arcade a bit too much when thinking up moves haha
We already have SF Rainbow Edition.
MASCOT OF CAPCOM AND STREET FIGHTER
She pulled the Hadoken out, I like her.😅
Hadouken spelled differently is Kamehameha
Nope.
Do you own all these versions?
First one sounds hilarious
Where is Street Fighter EX2 plus?
I always thought it was Ah Dor Chit since Street Fighter 2
0:35 Now I understand what Luke is making fun of
effects improved slightly, damage cut greatly
Tsuruga Ami seal of approval!
I swear in Street Fighter 1 he's saying "Hot Pocket!"
Ohh yugits! Have come so far
I thought the Mongolian fighter was gonna bust out a “shoryuken!” for the KO.
In unvc3 no repeat hadouken?
0:24 best version
Marvel vs Capcom round hadoken is my favorite.
4:10-4:17 Perfect KO!! You win
since when could he do orange ones in WW?
Curious: ha-do-ken gets larger but weaker as years pass
I think they should add Denjin or Shakunetsu with more hits for Ryu....and the air Hadouken...similar to Akuma.
On my opinion, the BEST FEATURE of Ryu's Hadouken is in Super Street Fighter 2: The New Challengers and Super Street Fighter 2X The Grandmaster Challenge or commonly known as Super Street Fighter II Turbo👍🏻
Cool
3:21 they put that ball monument on the top of the mountain instead of the statue of Christ the Redeemer... Politically correctness at his finest.
Land 1 full uppercut game over SF1
Would the ones in Rockman X DiVE count too?
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I used to hear it as: “Coyucas!!”
Classic best game street fight
Summary: You need really big fireballs to deal with Marvel & DC characters.
0:02 PSYCHO FIRE
What about spark rhaegaryuken
I like the part where he said "hadouken".
Wow 😯😮

He is now a black belt at Hadoken. 😂
in 1987 version he sayin something quite different I guess
