- The Girsan Witness 2311 9c BRAT is a Double Stacked 1911 with the 2011 Polymer Grip. It has a 3.4" Barrel and full length grip. It Shoots very smooth and the reliability is top notch, but the real story is the price. Thank you to EAA Corp for sending the Brat for this review. @EAACorporation
Big thanks to Fiocchi USA for Supplying our ammunition! @FiocchiUSA

Battle Hawk Armory has the "Brat" in 9mm and .45 on sale for $523. The .45 mags are 11 rounds. Awesome.
There are always alternatives, thanks!;/
Already OOS its no longer showing on their web page when I searched. Hopefully a few of us good guys got one and not somebody reselling.
$649 now on there
I wish it was optic ready
@@OG_BeeRad back to 549 there
I have the Brat in 45 acp. I love it. Very reliable. The break-in period was approx 200 rounds. Gorgeous finish. Super-sold!
Turkey 🇹🇷 made my 2011 Ford Transit Connect. The best van that I still own. Excellent Quality. My favorite firearms were made in Czechoslovakia🇨🇿 Yugoslavia, Austria🇦🇹 and Germany🇩🇪.
@@johndeere1951a My first was a CZ 75. A great piece of work.
❤LETS GO GIRSAN❤ lessoning to their clientele, actually trying to arm regular people with something nice at a good price. Not a lot of companies like this nowadays.
If you actually USE the gun, it'll show its true color. Turd brown.
Thanks for another great video Sootch
Turkey's turning out some quality firearms, thanks Sootch!
All valid points :) my favorite part is always the bloopers
I’ve been waiting on this one thanks
As i can see the Turkish made handguns are dominating the US market. Happy new year Sootch, i don't know if this will be your last vídeo of 2024, but i will send my message anyway. I hope that 2025 will be a good year, not only for the USA, but for the entire world. Cheers from Brazil.
Sootch00 powering into the end of 2024 with another great review. Excited to see if there’ll be enough new models in 2025 to match his review output of 2024.
Thanks just got mine in 45 acp good video
Great review... i can tell you really like this one... Girsan really makes fine weapons... this looks like a winner...
Fine???
Oh boy. You need to get out more friend.
@terdog55 maybe you should enlighten all of us... I have 2 from Girsan, never a problem.
Great looking gun 🔫 and great show 👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍👏👏👏😁
Another great review!
Great Video! Awesome review! Thank you.
Excellent Review as Usual!
Great video nice girsan 2311 brat thanks for sharing sootch00 happy new year
😎❤I've been watching your channel for a very long time. For the knowledge and art of metals that come together in amazing ways.❤📌
Looks like a nice gun, but when you said the price, I had to rewind to make sure! Thanks, Sootch 👍
Right on sootch!
Platypus style with non-2011 mags are the future.
At this price point being a lefty I don’t mind the slide release being on the left side .
That trigger may not be a soft as a more expensive DS1911, but since the gun is sized appropriately for concealed carry a slightly heavier trigger is probably desirable. I certainly would not be unhappy with a 5-6lb trigger in a carry gun.
Enjoyed your video!
Sorry but with all respect must disagree on the Brat being appropriate for concealed carry - that full size grip and magwell (mag-funnel ?) will print like a mofo, and the short barrel means the weight of the weapon is above your belt line and will lean outboard…
Quality and affordable, and EAA has some phenomenal imports that are solid and accurate. My luck with the HP clone and 10mm hunter not so good but they are tanks and run anything. Thanks for review. Happy New Year.
My hunter was a complete wreck and aeaa was a waste of time.
I'll NEVER BUY ANOTHER girsan
I respect the heck out of you and the legacy you have created here on YT. Hence, I am not criticizing you but rather like to suggest a few additions to your review process (if I may): 1. If you make a comment like 'looks like it takes 2011 style magazines', why don't you just grab one from a 2011 you have just to confirm your assumption? 2. While I trust that your sample size of one was performing great, several other YTers have had less luck with guns they purchased for review from EAA Girsan (instead of getting it shipped from the manufacturer). In this context it can be very helpful to the potential buyer to know how the support process of the manufacturer works. EAA Girsan has very strong stipulations on the customer that require money to be spent before any warranty work happens. RIA for instance is much more customer friendly in that regard. This subject is important as it is relevant to determine the potential TCO of a gun. 3. Which brings up the final point I like to make. When you compare the Girsan to the Bul Armory, you conclude that after the purchase certain gunsmithing jobs can be made to get the Girsan on the level of the Bul Armory gun. Again, trigger jobs are not cheap. It would be great if you can quantify the cost of improvements you mention so the viewer can get an idea what the package in the end costs. I get that those upgrades are not necessary to shoot the gun but in all honesty, 6 lbs trigger weight is horrible for a 1911 style pistol, don't you agree?
Please don't take my comment the wrong way. In no way, shape or form do I say you do a bad job. I just like to share a few observations I made during the last months .
Thanks a lot for keeping the 2A community informed with your presentations.
You think he had time to read your life story?
Bwahhhh. Just buy a Ruger. Excellent customer service i hear. On the cheap get a rock island armory.
@@AlexRamirez-vz1vjwhat are you doing here? Your mama was calling for you to leave your basement room and eat lunch.
You're comment is fair...tbh this is the ONLY positive review I've seen on this tool..and...now I'm questioning this gentleman's standards on what actually constitutes a good firearm...I'm ok with girsan..even own a regard and would recommend one for the money..but this tool is no regard.
@@carywright978I was very excited about this girsan 2311 when I heard it was coming out and then when my shop got some in I was very disappointed. I buy a lot of dumb ass guns I don't need and throw in a pile to barely if ever shoot again after a first range trip and when I picked up the girsan I didn't even want to take it home knowing it would end in that pile. Buy the tisas 9DS it's 10x the gun for the same money. The fact RUclipsrs aren't crapping all over it makes me think they're getting paid. Unless the 5 I got in the store were dudes? I dunno.
I love it great looking 2311.
Always wanted a little Para Worthog , this wobe awesome for the collection
I have one. EDC it every day. Prodigy mags fit it. It shoots like a dream, and feels great.
Was about to say totally fine with 600 for an edc, I like the amount of t if rounds as well you have on it!
What holster are you using?
Using a Vedder Light tuck for the Staccato CS. It is pretty close, holds decently. . Heated it up for a minute and pressed it in with the foam rig I made for making knife sayas. @@BigBisI_1
What kind of holster are you using for edc?
@@carrollwaters5375 if I had to guess I would think that it would be compatible with a Bul SAS II UL or a Staccato CS holster ?
I would love to own another BUL Armory and really wanted an UltraLight 2011, but my wallet said no. Instead, I picked up an RIA BBR 3.10 for half the price. When I heard about these being released, I wanted to see how it might compare, so thanks for this informative video. They look to be about the same size, and with the larger 17 round capacity mag I added, weight is at 37.5 ounces, so heavier than the Girsan, but the BBR has a full metal frame. I like the BBR, very controllable thanks to the weight, but if this had been available at the time, I would have heavily considered this.
Thank you sir 🙏
Thank you 🎉🎉🎉
looks like a sweet piece
Excellent review ! And 17 plus 1 that hits the sweet spot !
A couple hundred bucks for better sights, flat trigger and Ed Brown hammer and sear would make this thing very good.
I wish you would test these types of guns with defensive ammo, not just FMJ.
I have never seen a gun you don’t like 😂
It won’t be on my channel if I don’t like it.
@sootch00 i look for a real opinion on guns so I know what to expect
Thank you Sootch! Best gun reviewer on you tube!
Thanks for the info
These look nice, but that's about where the quality stops. The slide to frame fit is not good. The frame is not hard aluminum and I've seen galling between slide and frame to the point of locking up. The trigger is terrible. You must have received a golden sample because we've tested them to upwards of 12 lbs. You'll have inconsistent ejection, which is a by product of the slide to frame fit and how the action is running. 2011's are expensive for a reason. To make them cheaply you need to cut corners, and Girsan ran out of corners on this thing.
You can see lots of the ejection issues in this very video.
Don't forget that one of the tests the 1911 had to pass was the disassembly, mixing of parts and random reassembly. The best shooting 1911 I ever shot rattled like crazy. I have owned Taurus. Ria, Citadel and a Girsan. When I could afford more expensive 1911's I went thru Kimber. Colt, and S&W Performance Center. All those closer tolerance 1911's had issues. I don't want one that doesn't have a little rattle
As a disclaimer I am not a competetive shooter but I have no problems staying in the black with my Girsan.
Basically 2011’s suck, which is why they have to be over engineered and overpriced to work right.
@@howardbecton6274 Kimber makes some of the worst 1911's I have ever shot in my life. I'm not even slightly kidding when I say that to this day out of the 10+ Kimbers I've tried, not ONE of them was reliable. Most wouldn't make it through a single magazine out of the box without jamming. Even after breaking in the 3 I was dumb enough to acquire over the years, they still wouldn't run reliably. I shouldn't have to change out half the gun with WC parts to make it run reliably. So many people I know carry a Kimber and every time I've asked to shoot theirs, it has jammed. The only thing reliable about a Kimber is how reliably they jam.
@@MI2APatriot I know they're not cheap, but I stick with Wilson, Dan Wesson, Nighthawk, Staccato. Only two Kimbers I own haven't given me any issues in 1000's of rounds. That's their R7 Mako and Micro9.
I've owned 3 Girsan's over the last few years. I've sold them all. Unreliable to say the least. I choose the Fusion Firearms XP Pro for the money.
Great choice.
гарний випуск дякую
That watch though ❤
Always interesting. Not the carry gun for me (admitted Glock fanboy) but possibly a real fun range toy.
CCW should be all drop safety. It should have a series 80 trigger.
Very cool
Well the price is right!
you know i bought a steel frame, double stack, SA, John Browning derivative 2011, 30 yrs ago. It's called a Browning Hi-power.
Love your website, great video..
As you mentioned, I’d love to see front slide cuts and a threaded barrel extension.
The finish looks kind of like it’s chipping in spots.
As you said the trigger needs a lighter break and it appears the catalog offers support for fine tuning.
No doubt polishing the internals can help that.
Mighty oily, think I would wipe all that excess.
Nice group, one ragged hole on the first three rounds !
Very reasonable entry points
It'll take a few months but once supply catches up we can actually buy this gun and maybe even under MSRP.
Could've made the end of the slide flush with the frame. That'd be better and very inexpensive to do.
This looks like a really nice gun. I wonder why they did not put the ability for mounting a red dot on it?
Seen several other reviews on the Girsan double stacks and they were listed in several "worst of 2024" videos.
its profile reminds me of the llama mini-max ll, which i believe was copied by the rock island bbr
Is there any gun he doesn't like? Honest Outlaw gives a real opinion on guns.
This has been on my radar but I need ammunition
I know this is a gun video, but I am liking that watch. What make/model is it?
Makes my CZ 2075 rami look like a skinny super model.
Would love to get one but I see they are all sold out and I live in FRED FLINTSTONES STATE and just looking forward to SUPREME court to get our rights back
Me too pigster
Damn wish it had optic cut.
Facts man!
BRAT means BROTHER
The ejection pattern is all over the place.
Curious what are you looking to hit with the shell casings ? 😂
that’s the best you got?
@@benbutz4900 When it is erratic like that, it is just a lottery and matter of time until it will malfunction.
@@benbutz4900wdym that’s the best you got? This is a huge red flag.
My WC puts me all in the same exact spot
It’s a nice pistol for the money and steel magazine
It is a 9mm not a 45 acp so whats the big deal? If it was a high capacity 45, I might get excited. There are plenty of 9s but a limited amount of high capacity 45s.
I'm not sure what your point is. 45acp is a bigger round than 9mm, you can't have a high capacity 45 without it being large.
They have a 13 round 45
I noticed that you did NOT mention your last 7 rd shot keyholing. I'd think that would be a big deal.
You can have that firearm. Nice that the magwell is removable. No thanks overall.
For this review what kind of watch do you have on.
Thanks
Do they offer a 38 super barrel? At 3:58, the magazine reads 9/38. Assuming it holds 38 super.
I'm a 1911 Fanboy and I'ma fan of Compacts. but bruh, this gun looks like someone just straight up Sawed off a 1911
It does look silly. Feels very nicely balanced. Picked one up yesterday and am just waiting on the range to open.
Scotch, how about a 2k round test? I don't recall you ever doing a durability test.
What do you say? You game to back up your 😘 opinion?
I’d rather just a get a Bul armory Ultra lightweight
Great video Scooch. All of Girsan's pistols seem to have decent quality at budget prices. There are some well known higher priced manufacturer's that don't have Girsan's reliability.
9mm short barrel with full grip length, Glock X19. 😁
It's cool, I just can't bring myself to buy a Turkish made firearm. Especially an American designed gun.
@DebaterJace
Especially with what’s happening in Türkiye/Syria.
Looks like the aluminum frame is just painted. Not hard coat anodized.
Seems like a downgrade from when the Witness was based on the CZ75/97 instead of the 1911.
Why no optic cut
Any gun I can have is limited to 10 rounds blows. Wish I could move but it isn’t easy
That price shouldn't mean 5-6 lb. triger pull compromise.
Got mine for 550
If you’re gonna get a Turkish 1911/2011, go with Tisas/MAC. Girsan is wonky.
Anyone know a good holster for it?
Mükemmel
I've had hit and miss experience with Girsan. I have a great little shotgun from them but a pistol that's not really great
They shortened it in the wrong place should have given it more barrel less grip
…..but Brat??? There’s a cultural misfire if I ever seen one.
where the hell do i buy one? is it not released yet?
Extremely erratic ejection patterns don't exactly scream quality.
What are the chsnces you get one that actually works?
Weird comment on this maker being reliable. I’ve read their Hi-Power is the exact opposite.
Its lovable gun but accuracy is very important
Girsan naming a platform after the catchphrase of one of the worst presidential candidates in U.S. history haha...🤭🤷♂️
Girsan 2025 line up is full of stuff I wana see tested
Buy American on a 45 Super !!!
Too much chit chat
My sas 2 ultralight has had nothing but trouble I considering this
No you’re not stop lying
@ you’re more than welcome to buy it from me an see for yourself
@ what sort of problems are you having?
@ just got it back after 8wks in Florida from them a ton of ftf stove pipes this is not the new model I got the last run I should have waited got it same day it came out didn’t even come with a optic plate as I found out it should’ve I’m so frustrated because it’s a beautiful pistol but the reliability makes it disappointing I’m not sending it back to Bul weighing my options to sell or fix at this point $1500 loss unexceptable
I had one as well. It was junk. It had a sticky slide. Fitment was off or something. Wouldn’t go into battery and got stuck when you racked slide all the way to the rear i was really disappointed cause i heard great things. I have a DWX and a Staccato P now. I may of had a lemon unfortunately because Bul armory has a great reputation. Kinds wish I sent it into Bul for warranty work.
"17+1 MAG capacity"!?
Why would you buy a 2011 frame (wide body) with an Officers (read concealed carry) slide? Your not gonna compete with this and trying to conceal the widebody full length frame is just silly. I don't get it. Girsan makes good stuff but..........
❤❤❤❤❤ very Nice beautiful ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Would rather have the Israeli made Bul Armory over this one.
9mm again. Happy New Year birthday to me. I know I like 2311 the new 2011 variant. By the way, only you and law enforcement RUclipsrs can use the newest guns. Compared to high school losers, they only use guns from WW2 era
Bought a Girson Regaurd to save a few bucks instead of a 92FS. Jammed 1-2 times every mag. Not worth it, get a better brand.
