I built a privacy fence around my yard on the Gulf Coast in 2001. I attached all the 6 foot fence boards to the stringers with "temporary" 18G brads, planning to go back and attach with screws once it was all finished . Well, 17 years later those "temporary" brads are still holding that fence together. Made it through Katrina and several other storms and have never lost a board. While I don't recommend this method, it sure made hanging those boards easy and has held up better than I would have expected.

Where did you purchase the fence pickets by themselves? I have only seen pre made fence panels where I live.

Question, those units need good air flow. I know this boards don't starve the unit but still curious. How did you find the appropriate spacing around the unit to use?

No particular formula, just spaced out the fence boards to allow air flow.
