    Virgin has shuttles that can take you to Bayside Market for a while. We arrive port around 10 am then head off to Bayside until our embarkation time. The Wake, Razzle Dazzle, Gunbae, Extra Virgin, TestvKitchen opens at 6pm on Embarkation day.

    Great tips! Several questions. 1) Can you pre book your dining reservations online or via the app before embarkation day? 2) Can you reserve an embarkation time? 3) on board entertainment. can you pre book your reservations prior to embarkation day?

    • @BobandKellyGo
      @BobandKellyGo  11 месяцев назад +2

      Hi there! Yes you can pre book dining via the app. If you look on the app on the first page scroll down under “ship just got real” you’ll find when your window will open to book dining. Yes you can also reserve an embarkation time. In the app also on the first page under “ before you sail” you’ll see a check in area, complete all that info and you’ll be able to choose an embarkation time. Thirdly, you cannot book any entertainment until embarkation day. We have another video titled “more tips for first timers navigating the app” that will walk you through everything. Hope that helps! 😊

      @BobandKellyGo  Год назад +3

      Hi! We never had a fancy or “formal night” on either of our cruises. Honestly I’m not sure if they do on longer sailings either. People can choose to dress up for dinners or you can go as casual as you like. That’s what’s cool about Virgin, it’s a “do what you are comfortable with” kind of cruise line. But some people will wear formal red attire on scarlet night. You’ll see people way dressed up and others with just a splash of red. Hope that helps!

    • @BobandKellyGo
      @BobandKellyGo  11 месяцев назад +1

      Hi! We had an XL sea terrace on our last cruise and it wasn’t bad actually. We’ve cruised with Disney also and their bathrooms are way smaller than on the Virgin ships. The shower we had on Virgin was tall and spacious enough for us. There was lots of counter space in the sink area too, so we had no complaints. I think they may be a tad smaller and configured differently on the regular sea terrace rooms though. Thank you so much for watching!

    • @BobandKellyGo
      @BobandKellyGo  11 месяцев назад +1

      Hi! On the app on the home page you’ll see a section that says “share and add your mates” you can link your reservations so that you can book dining together. Once you Click on “share and add your mates” you can choose how to send your friends a link (text, messenger, email…) once your dining reservation window opens you should be able to book for all in your party. You can check to see your sailor mates are linked under “messenger” in the app once you click on that you’ll see a red button called “contacts” and you’ll see your friends listed there once you are linked. Thanks so much for watching! Have a great cruise!

    Going on our first virgin cruise. It's bucket list for my girlfriend and I'm seeing so many mixed reviews.I'm not sure how this is going to go. At the very least she can say she'd got to do it once.

    • @BobandKellyGo
      @BobandKellyGo  6 месяцев назад +1

      We think maybe a lot of the mixed reviews come from people who aren’t prepared, it is different than other cruise lines. Our best advice is make dining reservations when your window opens. We know the pool is also a negative for some folks but if you aren’t a hang by the pool all day sort of person there’s lots to do on the ship. If there’s any questions we can help with feel free to ask! We hope you have a great time on your cruise, we’d love to hear how it goes. Thanks so much for watching!

    Hi Bob and Kelly. Great video. Very informative. Do you have any tips about the glass sliding door in the Rock Star suites? I’m travelling with my daughter next month in a Sweet Aft Suite and we are quite bemused about the glass door to the bathroom. I’m aware that the window in the Seriously Sweet suite can be covered by your cabin steward. Are you aware if they can do the same with the sliding glass door? I’m super curious!🧐 👀 Cheers

    • @BobandKellyGo
      @BobandKellyGo  10 месяцев назад +1

      Hi Susan! We aren’t aware of any way to make the door to the bathroom a bit more private. But the toilet area is more private and away from the door if that’s a concern. Even though the door is glass it does have colors and gets fogged up when the shower has been on. I’m a very private bathroom person myself and it didnt bother me at all. Hope that helps! Have a wonderful cruise! - Kelly

    Great tips! Myself, husband and two college age sons are FIRST TIME cruisers and are booked with Virgin for July. I am nervous about all the planning and making sure I don't miss something, being a true "Virgin" at this. We have the app, good WIFI tip from you about logging in at the terminal to begin booking, thanks for that! My question is, will their App work while we are off ship at the Bimini Beach Club and Cozumel beach excursions? I've seen mixed reviews on that.

    • @BobandKellyGo
      @BobandKellyGo  6 месяцев назад +2

      Hi! Thank you so much! You all are going to have an awesome time! Our cell service was great on Bimini and in the Dominican Republic. But we switched to our regular cell service (T Mobile) while we were on land instead of WiFi . I would imagine if you have cell service then your app will work just fine. When we got off the ship we received messages from our cell carrier that we were good to go.
      I just researched that Bimini has the same WiFi name as the ships WiFi so you should be good there if you don’t have coverage with your cell carrier. Sorry I didn’t have a better answer for you about Cozumel though.

    Can you make reservations for shows in advance of the cruise, in the terminal, or do you have to wait till you're on the ship? Can you get a list of shows in advance of the cruise?

    • @BobandKellyGo
      @BobandKellyGo  Год назад +2

      Unfortunately you can’t book the shows until embarkation day but you can As soon as you get in the cruise terminal and on the ships WiFi. I don’t know of any way to see a list of the shows and what times they will be ahead of time unfortunately. But if you’ve already booked dining reservations and a show you want to go to interferes with it it’s pretty easy to shift dining times on the app.

    • @BobandKellyGo
      @BobandKellyGo  Год назад +2

      So sorry… we just realized you WILL be able to see the event line up ahead of time on the app, if you go into the home page on the VV app scroll down and it will give you dates where you can see them. (You do have to have a cruise booked to see it) also the event lineup can change after you set sail, they sometimes add more shows and events as the cruise goes Along. sorry for the confusion, hope that helps!

      Hi Tim, Virgin Voyages are amazing in our opinion. There are some distinct differences between how Virgin does their cruises and how other traditional cruise lines are. Those who are used to how other cruise lines are may not appreciate the style of Virgin if that's what they are used to. Everyone has their own way of how they like to vacation, our advice is watch some vlogs and see if it fits your style. We fell in love with Virgin cruises from the moment we took our first cruise, hope you give them a try, and if you do, please let us know!

      @BobandKellyGo  7 месяцев назад

      Hi Melissa! To be honest we wondered if we would fit in on our first cruise too. Bob just turned 61 and I am almost 54. We’ve seen all age ranges from 20’s to 80’s having a great time on these cruises. There are lots of things to do besides partying, trivia, games, karaoke and shows to name a few. There are also lots of spaces that are quiet around the ship. We’ve never sailed with NCL, only Disney so I can’t really give you a comparison; But we feel very at home on a virgin voyages cruise. Very informative, thanks for the video! I'm super excited, I just booked my 1st Cruise with Virgin Voyages and went all out and did the "Rock Star" package! I have a debarkment question, what time-frame do you think is safe to book a flight back home from MIA and or FFL, I want to leave enough time to get to the airport and don't want to miss my flight

    • @BobandKellyGo
      @BobandKellyGo  11 месяцев назад +1

      Hi! That’s so awesome! You are going to love it! You should be safe booking a flight anytime after 12:00noon. It’s about 30-45 min back to MIA and about 45-60 min to FLL depending on traffic. If you leave the ship around 9:00 am or earlier you should be good to go. We don’t like to rush it either and choose to walk our own luggage off the ship rather than collect it after debarkation. You can also book an Uber/Lyft ahead of time to avoid any wait if you won’t have a car. Have an awesome cruise!

    Hi Bob & Kelly. Myself and Partner are booked on Virgin Scarlet Lady later this year ( 1st time with Virgin) . The more I see reviews etc the more worried I get :-( . We need to eat early all they time due to my partner having to , she also needs GF food. I am used to traditional ships ( over 20 cruises ) but this will only be her 2nd. We are also somewhat older than the average age of people on virgin cruises although that does not seem to be an issue. The way the galley works how can you be sure you get GF food ? ANy suggestions would be appreciated.

    • @BobandKellyGo
      @BobandKellyGo  3 месяца назад +1

      Hi Peter!
      One of the awesome things about Virgin Voyages is they are very good about providing vegan and GF options on all their menu’s. All of the menu’s including the one on the galley have indicators for vegan and GF items. I would recommend Razzle Dazzle for an early dinner or later brunch, as they focus on healthier vegan and GF items. They even offer GF pizza crust in the pizza place which is awesome!
      Your servers will also ask if you have any dietary needs and will be able to make suggestions for you that will work for your partner.
      We’ve seen all age ranges from 20’s to 80’s on the ship all having a great time, don’t worry we think you will to!
      Let us know if there are any other questions we can help with.
      Also if you do a Google search for “virgin voyages restaurant menu’s” you can see everything they have to offer, including the GF options noted with a (gf)
      Hope that helps and have a fantastic time in your cruise!

      Hi! That is so exciting!!! Congratulations! We would love to cruise Australia someday.
      So very sorry for the misinformation, we should have said the Galley is open for breakfast on debarkation, not the Dock (margaritas and filming don’t mix well) 🤣 the Dock is open on Embarkation day and they have a lovely tapas style menu.
      Choices for breakfast on debarkation day are the Wake, Razzle Dazzle and The Galley. Thank you so much for pointing out our mistake and hope you have a fantastic Honeymoon cruise!

    Do u book the shows in the app in the cruise terminal. Do u need to create a username and password for signing in to their Wi-Fi in the terminal

    • @BobandKellyGo
      @BobandKellyGo  2 месяца назад +1

      Hi Laura you no longer have to book shows ahead of time, they are now first come first served with the exception of dinner shows; which are an extra charge. Those you do book through the app and can be done in the cruise terminal or at the sailor services help desk.
      To sign into WiFi in the cruise terminal put your phone in airplane mode and connect to the ship WiFi, it will then ask for your birthday and cabin number as far as I remember. But it guides you through the process. You don’t have to set up another username and password for it. If you still have difficulty go straight to sailor services on deck 5 once you get on the ship and they are happy to help.
      Hope that helps

    • @BobandKellyGo
      @BobandKellyGo  Год назад +1

      Right, we’ve experienced different things; on our last sailing we couldn’t book dining until 30 days before as standard passengers so it is a bit confusing. The app will tell you for sure when your booking window opens. Thanks so much for your comment we really appreciate it!

  • @tomkilcullen9593
    @tomkilcullen9593 Год назад +1

    Thanks for the video. Sounds like you need a reservation for most dining and entertainment and you have to do it way in advance or as soon as you get on-board. Appears to be a hassle. I heard you can only book a reservation for each restaurant only once. Is that true? The late boarding time is also an issue, Once checking out of the hotel what are you going to do with all your luggage while finding something else to do.

    • @BobandKellyGo
      @BobandKellyGo  Год назад +2

      Most sailings are near full these days so reservations do help unless you are willing to eat at off peak times. If you get on the ship’s wifi early it’s pretty easy to snag reservations in the app. Yes on the shorter cruises (ours was 4 nights) you can only do each restaurant once for dinner but you can repeat Razzle Dazzle or The Wake again for breakfast/brunch. I’m pretty sure on the longer sailings you can repeat dinners.
      We stored our luggage with bell services at the hotel and went to the Bayside shopping area for a late breakfast and then just hung out in the hotel lobby for a while. I’m pretty sure every hotel will hold your luggage for you until you are ready to head to the terminal.
      Thanks so much for watching and let us know if we can answer any other questions. Have a great cruise!

    Great tips! For shore excursions, does Virgin offer those or do we find our own?

    • @BobandKellyGo
      @BobandKellyGo  Год назад

      So glad you found this helpful. Yes if you look on the virgin app or the virgin voyages website you’ll find excursions under “shore things” there aren’t a ton ( depending on your ports) so if you don’t find any that you like on their website look on Trip Advisor, they often offer the same excursions and some others that Virgin doesn’t.

    • @BobandKellyGo
