Thank you, that was instructive. There are scores of people making "tutorials" here on YT who create really bad topology, which will never survive encounter with life outside of SketchUp (or even any boolean operation within SketchUp itself), and not a single one of them seems to be aware of it -- it teaches people horrible habits. I am not surprised that when importing some random asset from the Warehouse you encounter that sort of thing.

I live by making all my models solids, allows for easy editing and keeps you honest in having a clean model overall, this was a great tutorial, and general concept to learn. I use the Clean Plugin all the time, but to do all the manual work you did, I love using Solid Inspector as well. Will automatically erase all the items preventing a solid, or at the least highlight them for you to fix manually. Love the channel, thanks for the vids!

How were you able to get your UI to look like that? Also I am following the steps you take by on my screen it is not showing an extensions tab, or extensions that I have downloaded.

Why doesn't this software allow to declare a what an object is? It looks like it decides that something is a solid just to then make it a non-solid one moment later.
Shouldn't be the creator in charge of what is a solid and what not? They could easily make a solid rectangle, then pull up the rectangle and it's already a solid and it shouldn't change.
The solution conceived by sketchup is perverse.

Why don't the help files explain that you have to make point line plane objects into a group to use the solid tools?
