Tuned into this today as I heard Shakey talking about it on BSB. I'm sorry I've missed it for all these months, but I'm delighted to say I'm now fully subscribed! 😉👍🏻 Your reviews of both vehicles were excellent; fun, informative and engaging. Shakey needs to do more of this kind of thing; he's knowledge, has a great sense of humour and he's a natural in front of the camera. Ariels' Atom and Ace are two extraordinary pieces of engineering, but they're also incredibly beautiful. If I had a few grand kicking about, it would be, 'Somerset, here I come!'
Welcome aboard TLBS! Glad you enjoyed the episode. Shakey's got a ton of ideas for two wheeled content on the channel, which we hope car and die-hard bike fanatics will appreciate.
Halfway through the video and had to stop to comment just how much I like it. Love seeing shakey on a bike, but the combination of both of you just being totally natural, it feels unscripted, it feels honestly made, I honestly think it’s superb work. Well done JS and SB, maybe we can see more content from you as a pair going forwards?
Sorry. But I have to agree too. There IS a good chemistry between these 2 characters; and the larrikin that exists in Shakey Byrne comes out in a good manner for TV. Thankfully, you don’t use those on/off flickering montages that seem to be so prevalent and beloved of UK car shows. Great work and I’m looking forward to more. Another instant subscriber.
There's a great chemistry with Jonnie and Shakey, hopefully there's some more future collaborations. Beautiful looking machines the Ariel. The bike doesn't look to be overpriced, very nice piece of kit with proven engine and nice styling
Wow what a brilliant pair of reviews for the Atom and Ace. Shakey has done a brilliant job and his contribution is just making this channel even richer! So great!
Repect Shakey, i'm just coming out of a years recovery from an accident and somewhat hesitant to get back on a bike, but after seeing you turn traction off and wack open the throttle on a wet road with cold tyres on a strange bike I am ready to get out there again 😀
Same here. I keep on having conflicting thoughts in my head. I crave to go out on a bike, but at the same time I am scared to hell just at the thought of it. As soon as spring comes, I will do a test ride or two, just to regain that confidence that I need to buy another one.
@@thaifoodtakeaway it's the lack of awareness in car drivers I'm struggling to get over. I'd he happy to do a bike track day again but of the 3 accidents I've had on a bike it's all been car drivers not paying attention of my presence on the road. I don't think id have fun on 2 wheels surrounded by idiots I don't trust.
“They are out to get you “ So many times i avoided an accident using that thought in my head. I don’t ride anymore but I always give a chance to bikes and they do appreciate it😀 my cousin will never walk without crutches again after a car drove out in front of her. She was a mother with two young daughters at the time. Respect to all bikers👍👍
I wish you nothing but sucess with the channel and thank you for making this episode. Sat on the sofa with a brew eagerly watching this unable to contain my exitement.
A great fun episode. More Byrne Out's please. You both look like you had so much fun making this and that does make a difference. Beautifully put together.
I've watched every single late brake show episode but this might be my favourite so far. Just so obvious that you two had a brilliant day and the chemistry is great. I was grinning from ear to ear from a few mins in
Absolutely EPIC! Top work lads and Chops, just brill work. I’d love to see Triumph and maybe any other electric bikes maybe? Tested against other electric cars possibly? Dunno, but it was a great format, well done.
Being from India, where motorcycles are more common than cars as daily vehicles I'd love to see more insight into the British bike scene through various types of videos like reviews, opinion pieces etc etc. You guys don't necessarily have to always talk about the latest stuff on the market either imo. Excited to see more of Shakey Byrne soon.
This is a brilliant combination and you two obviously get on well. Came across as really natural, not staged which made it feel comfortable to view and had a good mix of not too much of one vehicle at one time, switching between the bike and car nicely. Genuine, well done Jonny!
Just had to comment and congratulate you jonny, you have impressed me with every single evolution of the channel. Best motoring content of anywhere hands down. Choosing Ariel as you’re first 2wheel crossover is a stroke of genius given that the atom is arguably the closest a 4 wheeler will get to a fast bike experience. More power to you, well deserved and continued success.
Absolutely fantastic . My first love is bikes but I love cars also, this is content like no other with a brilliant addition of Shakey. Probably the best content I have seen on any platform including TV. More, more, more please.
Sexy ladders and weapons of mass distraction. What a debut to have for Shane! Loved the 0-60 test, noticed the speedometer was blacked out 😉😂 "of course we stuck to the speed limit officer" Watching you two was like seeing an old pal down the local pub, chatting about the things you love and adore! Just bundles of enthusiasm which is so infectious! Quality viewing as always 🙌
That was excellent! A really refreshing add on to an incredible channel! Alternating between high power, high money bikes and sub 10k, smaller bikes would be interesting and keep both the fantasy and reality bike options reviewed....
Shakey is a natural presenter, he know's his topic inside out, it's just a natural thing for him to talk about it and explain it. Love it! Thanks Guys!
Hearing a Honda start up, then seeing THAT CAR is quite surprising. Watching those two giggle in glee while zooming down the road is priceless. Hope to see more of both of you in the future.
Yay Shakey! So glad to see he's as cool as I imagined him to be when I was a kid! And what a rider; has hardly ridden in years, on a new and unusual bike and spins the tyre all the way through first gear! Keep 'em coming!
This was probably the one show I enjoyed the most of all your shows. Flippen awesome man. I don't have any suggestions since this one was the one I would have suggested. Great show.
So good to see Shakey enjoying a bike after learning the horrific extent of his injuries post crash a few years back. I met him briefly when he came to the bike shop at which I worked, about 20 years ago. He hasn’t changed. Brilliant. Long live the petrolheads. Looking forward to seeing more Byrne outs
It’s a match made in automotive heaven , what a great start to hopefully many more Byrne outs , well done Jonny on taking the risk on branching out , Shane is a great addition to TLBS.👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
Great to have you back on two wheels Shakey. As someone who bought the old Fast Bike mags and VHS you still had that crazy laugh as you were doing the stuff that us mere mortals could only dream of. Now how about those 4th mingers, next episode eh?
I'm so so pleased to see Shakey back on a bike and sharing a brilliant space with Jonnie. 4:24 is all that needs to be said. Well done gents. Well done Shakey, welcome back mate.
That was fantastic to watch, and your face when you went out in the Atom with shakey was priceless, I thought you were going to have a heart attic, looking forward to more like this, thanks
I'm not really into bikes but loving the new bike content and Shakey is a great addition to the channel. Looks like he's pretty handy behind the wheel too! Love the way he so casually describes losing the brakes at 187mph. A different breed :-)
Great first episode, setting up for a really entertaining. I'd like to see a good balance of high-end performance bikes and more obtainable, everyday bikes, and some more bike vs car videos will definitely be good to sprinkle in too.
Welcome back Shakey!! So so good to see him back on a bike, ripping it in a car & generally reliving the old fastbikes style road testing. Please keep this going guys ✊🏻
So damn good to see shakey light it up, looks like it lit him up also! Great content from an unlikely duo and a good relationship already for hopefully a load more car/bike content
Great idea, fantastic video. I dropped a like as soon as Shakey said "I haven't ridden a bike properly [on road] for 4 years" then proceeded to redline it out of the gate 😀
What a pairing you two make. This has to be the best all round motoring show on TV, RUclips or any delivery channel. Well done everyone involved in producing this. I look forward to more like this.
So grateful to Jonny for thinking about bikes and bikers. Shakey is a great fit, this was a great video. Very excited to see what the future holds for this collaboration. Best thing on RUclips for me personally, should be on TV!
What a great combination! Shakey has forgotten more about bikes than most riders will ever know, he’s full of incredible war stories (so there I was at the end of the main straight at Snetterton, 180mph and no front brake…), but also a great presenter and a perfect foil to Jonny Smith. Bring it on 😊
A truly fabulous first Byrne Out. You couldn't have asked for a better product than Atom car & bike to ride and review together. Worked so well that it just great. Long may it continue & looking forward to the next episode. 10 out of 10
The ace is ART...... stunning piece of engineering. Great to see Shakey presenting. Im amazed the somerset rozzers haven't banged you both up. Those speeds over rumble strips in a little village.... PC plod would normally be rubbing his sweaty little mits together.
I have loved Ariels cars for years, had no idea they made bikes as well. WOW do they make bikes! The frame and front fork on those things could be in a modern art museum. They are absolutely beautiful.
Awesome video. It is not very common, at all, to have a legendary bike racer doing reviews of anything. Add to that on the Late Brake Show!! I hope to see more from Mr. Byrne and the Byrne Out segments. I love cars and ride bukes, no garage at the moment. I've been riding since a young man and have owned many bikes, ridden many more that weren't mine and have built and owned 40+ cars and beater cars. I started flipping cars, buying junk and rebuilding them, as a teenager in the '80's. I bought mostly used bikes and fixed them up or modified them, starting in the 90's, after leaving home (Mom would allow me to own a bike, one of the reasons I bolted at 17!). So, Jonny, you now have brought my two favorite things together. The two of you seem like old friends, which is nice. Shakey's knowledge of bikes and riding is gonna be a GREAT addition to the Late Brake Show.
Great to see Shakey back on a bike. I know he may not be able to race but he has alot of knowledge and people want to listen to him. Hope to see more videos. Good effort Jonny👍
Jonny, your videos are now the benchmark for quality car reviews on RUclips. Production values have got so much polish - terrific stuff. Well done to all involved. Looking forward to seeing a few more bike reviews too - I’m not a ‘bike person’ but I do find the content interesting.
Jonathan Charles Smith and Shakey Byre are very different characters but both clearly share the same passion (whether it's for 4 wheels or 2) and you "bounce-off" each other so well. All the best for Shakey's Byrne Out content!
I haven’t ridden for about 4 years and I’m nervous…. Immediately turns traction control off and spins it up pulling out of the factory…. Got to love a bit of Shakey 🤣🤣
This works really well. Shakey seems really relaxed and charismatic in front of the camera. I'm not a bike person but I'll be watching Byrne Out. That atom looks like it would make your cheeks hurt from grinning so much.
Great episode. Really enjoyed it. Gotta love an Atom and great to see the bike as well. Before my time but my dad used to tell me about his Ariel twin which he must have owned in the 1950s when he did his National Service in the army. Don't know what he'd have made of the latest incarnations. In terms of visceral experience, I suspect the nearest thing to an Atom would be a BAC Mono but very different price points
Howdy from Texas! Watching Shakey launch the bike on a damp cold road, wiggling its rear end as it debated whether to accelerate or maybe dump on its side… I realized I was worried and holding my breath. Ha! That’s brilliant motor journalism! Thank you for not just chewing up tires (tyres) doing burnouts and power slides. Y’all are a refreshing alternative to the same old predictable videos. I’d love to see you continue to cover unusual creations when possible. Now I’m going to look up whether the Atom 4 can be registered in the US of A. Edit: Yes! They’re accepting pre-orders for US vehicles. This is terrific news because in a decade or so I may be able to afford a used 2022 model.
Loved the looks JS gave Shakey as he was driving the Ariel. Fantastic first outing for you both loved all of it. I hope Shakey is going to ride all types of bikes not just superbikes and expensive machines. Looking forward to future episodes 👍
Great video. Shakey's an inspired addition to the channel. I can remember when Shakey was a road tester for Fast Bikes magazine & it's great to see his road testing style hasn't changed! Top work lads. Look forward to more videos!
Superb video. Smiling all the way through. Been subscribed to the channel a while now, and always look forward to the new videos. Great move bringing the legendary Shakey on board. Obviously enjoys 4 wheels as much as two. Keep it up guys 😁
That was an utterly fantastic video. Thank you. As a motorbike fan, and a Shane Byrne fan, it was great to see him riding and having a lot of carefully considered comments about suspension compliance, linear power delivery and so on. Not just hooning about on one wheel ( but I guess the weather had a hand in that.....) There is real chemistry between Johnny and Shane and I look forward to further episodes...
Recent subscriber am I. Lifelong bikerider (bought my first car in 14 years last year, a 500 quid yaris , for the salty winter days as i got fed up of watching my bikes rot). I subscribed after watching Jonny in the 6r4. Imagine my joy finding Shakey here too! You two are the cats pyjamas.
I never thought the late late show would go in this direction, alavert this is possibly only so good because of the chemistry!! And the presenting skills.
What can I say didn't think your show could get much better but it just went to another level of brilliance with Shakey on board love it keep up the great work
Another excellent episode, jonny...... shakey fitted in seamlessly, proper professional while still being down to earth, brilliant addition to the team. Looking forward to more from Shane.
Shakey in hooligan mode!!! Sticking to two wheels here but can Shakey please recreate the hotel to restaraunt scooter wheelie and if he can draft Jamie Whitham in to do the same with his R1 test ride from many moons ago, that would be a hoot. Not sure how well they would go down today lol...and apologies again Shane for calling our GSD Kiyo!!! 🤣
Brilliant to see Shakey back, he's a great presenter and i have so much respect for him as a phenomenal rider!! So so pleased for you Shakey, great honest review! Now I'm going to watch the last half of the video! Lol 🏍️🏍️🏍️🏍️
Jonny and Shaky, sounds like a comedy team at a carnival. this was a very fun review of two fantastic vehicles! Great job and Shakey is a fantastic addition to your team!
Once again a great LBS video, review(s) and also, insight into a great little company. Great to see Shakey on board and hope it's the first of many more as 'Byrne Out' is a winner for me, Shakey always comes over as super-personable and someone you want to listen to. Great also to see, for me anyway, was that Aerial has an identity that carries over from the car to the bike...you look at the car and it tells you it's an Aerial and it's the same with the bike...it can only be an Aerial. Top job as always by the LBS Team 👍👍
I also had to stop halfway through the vid and say that THIS BODES VERY WELL! Awesome to have Skakey on board - if there's a person I'm going to listen to about motorbikes - it's him. Top work team. And aren't those bikes (and cars!) gorgeous ;-)
Great video! Glad to see bikes are now on the channel too! I was a passenger in an Atom 4 on a track day last year, I ended up with quite a few pulled muscles!
Was literally frothing at the gash seeing Shakey back on a bike and lighting the back tyre up. Then to follow up with some serious Rev-limiter bashing in the atom and a few cheeky donuts…prime content. Was hoping for the trade mark rolling burnout but no doubt that will come on later episodes. Well done to you both especially Shane on his monumental recovery. Can’t wait for the next one.

Jonny and Shakey teaming up is automotive dream team. Shakey reviewing bikes takes me back to the 90’s and performance bikes mags and videos 👍😃
Anything that reminds us of the '90s is a good thing, according to Jonny.

Enjoyed that for something a little different. Always moving the boundaries Jonny, great job!
I loved this. Was nearly in tears when I realised Shakey was actually riding a bike again. What a moment.
Thank you both for yet another fresh, new dimension to The Late Brake Show. Ultimate respect to Shakey - a legend, giving us his thoughts and wisdom 👌
Great episode. Really enjoyed it.

Edit: Yes! They’re accepting pre-orders for US vehicles. This is terrific news because in a decade or so I may be able to afford a used 2022 model.
Fantastic. Just a joy to watch. Johnny and Shakey make a great team.
Loved the looks JS gave Shakey as he was driving the Ariel. Fantastic first outing for you both loved all of it. I hope Shakey is going to ride all types of bikes not just superbikes and expensive machines. Looking forward to future episodes 👍
Brilliant video, as a lover of both cars and motorbikes its nice to see the two come together.
Great video. Shakey's an inspired addition to the channel. I can remember when Shakey was a road tester for Fast Bikes magazine & it's great to see his road testing style hasn't changed! Top work lads. Look forward to more videos!
Both vehicles and presenters were brilliant well done guys more like this plz...
Superb video. Smiling all the way through. Been subscribed to the channel a while now, and always look forward to the new videos. Great move bringing the legendary Shakey on board. Obviously enjoys 4 wheels as much as two. Keep it up guys 😁
Damn, for him being such a massive legend, he is so down to earth, such a humble and genuine guy! Love him!
Excellent guys. Loved my Atom 3. Shakey you are a natural in front of the camera. Loved it !!!
Excellent! Two enthusiasts, straight talking.
Big fan of this channel & Shakey is an excellent addition. Keep it up!
I never thought the late late show would go in this direction, alavert this is possibly only so good because of the chemistry!! And the presenting skills.
What can I say didn't think your show could get much better but it just went to another level of brilliance with Shakey on board love it keep up the great work
What a super enjoyable video, could have watched these two bantering for hours. Grin city!!!
Looking forward to the next episode, great chemistry and a really natural joyous vibe
Great video guys. Jonny and Shakey have an amazing chemistry, so looking forward to future content!
Brilliant to see Shakey back, he's a great presenter and i have so much respect for him as a phenomenal rider!! So so pleased for you Shakey, great honest review! Now I'm going to watch the last half of the video! Lol 🏍️🏍️🏍️🏍️
Great show and superb addition to the channel. Don't know much about bikes so a great introduction to that world from Shakey!
Can’t wait for the next one.
perfect first episode, defo one to keep watching
