- It's another race weekend and I head to Donnington Park. The racing is good but things don't go to plan, things break and I try some quick fixes.
Please let me know if you would like to see some content about my £1 Yacht. I'm always interested in all your comments so please feel free to get in touch.
Excellent new music by a young artist Alex Carter. Please check out his new album on Spotify:

Thanks for the videos, enjoy immensely and good to see your confidence improving.
Love to hear about your $1 yacht. Trevor YPLM.
Thank you for your kind words. I’m working on the £1 Yacht video and hopefully release it on Friday.
Always a fun video Richard. Bloody well done. See you at Brands. Cheers 😀👍
Thanks Rick, this racing stuff is hard. How come you make it look so easy?
Who wouldn't be interested in a £1 yacht 😂 Well done on the top 10, you seem to be properly getting the hang of it now. Thanks for the vlog.
I’ll get to work filming on my £1 yacht when I return from work.
I have had a real increase in performance following my engine rebuild, I still need to continue to focus on driving accuracy and consistency. And maybe a little more bravery too.
Will always be interested in a £1 yacht! Completely agree with the tyre stacks being dangerous - enjoy your videos, i'd love to be racing single seaters one day - will stick to my trusty MX5 for now!
Single seaters are amazing fun, I love the purity and simplicity. And the cost isn’t outrageous too.
I’ll definitely film something on the £1 Yacht, sailing is a rather fun thing to do on my days off.
As for the tyre stacks, there is mounting pressure to have them removed.
Good video as always Richard
Thanks Duncan
Would love to no more about the yacht.
That’s great, I’ll get to it when I’m home and have a little more time. I do have a race car to prepare for the next meeting.
What sort of camera or lens do you use that allows the camera to seemingly move around on its own while you are racing? I race a Sprite in the US and would like to be able to achieve similar videos. Thanks.
I use an Insta 360 camera and I like the results. I picked my up secondhand from EBay and it’s a first generation. The software is pretty good but it does take some time to edit the footage.
Very cool... I've always used GoPro. What sort of mount do you use?
In 25 years of racing and fixing Formula Fords, and taking my welder to the circuit, I have only welded cracked exhausts on cars that have a rear mount for the muffler. Those that don't have a mount, do not crack. My own car does not have a mount, it has not cracked. Do yourself a favour, ditch the mount.
You are not the first person to mention this. Unfortunately we have to run mufflers in the U.K. and this puts increased strain on the welding. Do you think a redesign of mounting bracket could help?
My tailpipe is not solidly mounted. It's only held into a cradle with a stiff spring. The support for the cradle is a rod cut in half. A stiff section of heater hose in the middle gap. Works great!
Thanks Uncle, I’ve had my exhaust welded (again) and will have another look at the muffler support. I hope I have time before the next meeting at Brands Hatch.
I’m very grateful for your comments.
Where do you keep your yacht?
I will definitely film a video on my little yacht. I keep it at Dell Quay near Chichester. It’s a very reasonably priced mooring for a very reasonably priced yacht.
Who operates the camera?
I’m a single handed RUclipsr, I do almost everything myself. I would love to have someone film me but hanging around motor racing tracks isn’t appealing for too many people.
track limits are ruining club level motorsport.
I think track limits are causing problems in all motorsport. Grass and gravel are always a slower surface than the track so just make there’s something slippy just the other side of the white line.
Interestingly, there’s no problems with track limits at Monaco.
@@toooldandtooslow when folk are being sin binned in testing it goes too far. For amateurs on a tight budget you can be stood feeling like you’re setting fire to £100 of testing fees. Hopefully common sense will prevail one day!
