Did you compression test the saw? Reason I ask is if it's like mine compression is fine. My issue is timing. Flywheel is too far advanced causing snaped the ropes and a sore wrist. Better rope and a D hand too but would have been cheaper to retard the timing a couple degrees.

I don't have a compression tester handy but with the modifications I did it helped it out
