Both the Bar Council and Solicitors' regulatory authority have said that in a recent commons select committee, they they would be looking at the professional conduct and advice and case conduct and would be prepared to take action against members whose conduct falls below what is expected. Iirc the inquiry interviewed a solicitor who had been disciplined and fined £20k in Dec 2023. Both authorities have their own newsletters that report this, and AFAIK are already starting this process. BTW, aujard did appear in the inquiry, day 131, on the RUclips inquiry channel.

@rvarsigfusson6163 No, he is a solicitor afaik, having qualified in Australia and moved to the UK. Both the Bar Council and Solicitors' regulatory authority have said that in a recent commons select committee, they they would be looking at the professional conduct and advice and case conduct and would be prepared to take action against members whose conduct falls below what is expected. Iirc the inquiry interviewed a solicitor who had been disciplined and fined £20k in Dec 2023. Both authorities have their own newsletters that report this, and AFAIK are already starting this process. BTW, aujard did appear in the inquiry, day 131, on the RUclips inquiry channel.

I attended this hearing in the public gallery and truly believe that Mr Henderson and Mr Warmington are very courageous human beings and I admire them both for their tenacity and honesty. An honour to be in their presence together with Mr Jason Beer too!
So lives were ruined, and a few suicides. But lots of money was made, for people with lots of money! And those who died were not important. Mostly working Class People. There's lots of them.
