Great content. I've got to replace them all on my '78. Doors were rattling and I temporarily just adjusted the strikers in a little more until the new ones show up. For what it's worth, the NAPA part is just a rebranded Dorman number in a different package, they are one in the same. Also, Amazon has them for $10 each right now. Look forward to more of the '79 content 😎

That sound and feel that you got from the Ford/Mercury/Lincoln products of the 1970's and 1980's is why so many people say that the quality of these cars is so much better than it's equivalent GM/Chrysler counterparts. Ford just had better quality period. Gm cars you always had to slam and the door hinges let the doors sag. They were terrible. I think alot of new owners to these classic cars don't realize that you need to change the striker bolts is my guess. Either that or they are too cheap.

Great video and great Lincoln! I have a ‘74 F350 w/44K miles. All original. I changed the rubber door seals about 10 years ago and replaced the striker bushing. The door still won’t shut easily. I have to slam it. I’ve adjusted the striker dozens of times and still won’t close easily. Only thing I can think of is that since it’s a garage queen and I’ve put 2500 miles on it during the past 12 years that it’s not getting enough use to loosen up?
