Tecton X original was a breakthrough all-around beast. The X2 fits better, especially in the toe box. You can’t go wrong. This was my choice in a 200-mile road-trail race last Fall, the Cowboy 200, and the X can handle just about anything. Also used for the technical Sangre de Cristo 50 miler in Colorado and it works as well as the Mafate 4 or the Salomon line for rocky trails.
Secure the bag! This is gonna be for my wife, though, so it's even better for me because I plan to win this to give it to someone else. I'm such a nice guy!!
Secure the bag! Thank you Thomas & Robbe for your videos, never missed on of them. I would love to secure that for my next trail run. I also follow believe in the run on Strava. It is great, informative and entertaining, so much fun to follow you. Keep the good work! Aloha from Hawaii ! ❤

Secure the bag ! I'm new to running and starting to do the longer runs. Thank you for teaching a new guy here so much with your knowledge and experience.
I'm still up in the air between the Tecton X2 and the Saucony Edge. Keep hearing about how unstable the Edge is but I've never had a running shoe that I've sprained my ankle in. Secure the bag!
I have been running my two ultra races this year with the Tecton x 1. One 50mile trail race in 8h 28mins and one 6h race with the distans 71km, these are both PBs for me and I can partly "blame" the Tecton x for this. It´s a really stable/reliable shoe to run in, like a Mach 4 but for trail and with a carbon plate. Just as I will buy a supershoe like the Nike vaporfly 2/3 or Saucony endorphin Pro 3 for normal races I will definitely buy the Tecton x for ultra races :)
I have used the Tecton X for the last 12 months mostly on Trail. I have a gravel road 50 mile race soon. Should i use TEcton X or the equivalent for Road run?
El Nino happening in Malaysia. Its good to have Believe in the Run Weiss Hydration Bag for my companion preparation for upcoming ultra event during this hot weather. Secure the bag!!
I trail run, but i also love to hike in trail running shoes. I rock the evo mafates to hike and love them. Would this shoe be ok hiking? Or would the carbon plate make it feel funky at slower speeds?
Would absolutely be a pleasure to rock a believe in the run running hydration vest on the beautiful beaches around charleston, South Carolina! Hydration is necessary in the southern heat!
Secure the bag. Secure the bag. Hydration tip of the day: if you use a bladder and hear the sloshing of the water when you are out, take the bladder turn it so the the connection point from the bag to the tube is on top then sip thru the straw to pull all the air out. Sloshing gone. Favorite hydration goes to Skratch Labs.
You are amazing, very nice video and much useful info, thaaaanks! However i have now a TectonX and with my first trail very rough terrain session (very steepy DH) i sprained my left ankle in a track which i know like my "bip"!!....i understood why and it was a very terrible instability on the external sides (like a terrible "switch" with no warning) I used the speedgoat5 and the Zinal on the same track where i'm really flying DH like a beast.....i decided to use TectonX only on very easy trail, where i can slightly feel the contribution of the carbon plates....but nothing so helpful at the end😅
I was very skeptical about the idea of carbon plates in trail shoes. 🤨 My skepticism got extra fuel when I put the Tecton X on my feet. But... that was in the store. Some time after that, a friend of mine gifted me a pair of Tecton X. Guess my reaction.... To avoid disappointing him (we often run together!) I put on these shoes. The first run (10 miles) was not thrilling. But the next one (about 30 miles) was a breakthrough. Only then did I realize that my prejudice against carbon in trail shoes was.... foolish. Now I have my second pair of Tecton X. Unfortunately, I regret this purchase. I somehow missed the release of Tecton X v2 and bought the v1 a few days before it. 😫 I think , that this vest from Weis would be a nice consolation.
Brand new to running. Started running probably the same time this video was made but have already ran and completed a 15 mile trail race in that time. Could have used this pack and the shoes then
I’m curious if this can work for an ultra? I love Altra Superiors, I have changed out of Speedgoats to put them on a couple years ago for a 50k…I have a ten hour event at the end of the month…I could get Tecton 2 tomorrow, and may need to wait a bit longer for the Superior (probably still need to buy 5, hoping 6 shows up at the store).
Apologies for the negative take - UK trail runner here, Really disappointed with my pair of X2's - they feel too soft and clunky like the Mafate, I have narrow feet and prefer a Saucony fit but these promised so much and delivered what most other trail shoes do for half the price, specifically the Speedgoat 5.
I'd like to know if anyone has run an Obstacle course race in these and how they hold up. I usually run the long distance and multiple events through the year and have only used Salomon for this but love HOKA for the road races. Any feedback would be appreciated before I purchase. Thanks.
Hi Non USA resident - but shoe question So planning a 50k ultra next year at the Dead Sea It’s non technical - gravel - dusty - salt bridge - pothole type terrain Pretty flat Would you go for the tecton x 2 ? Endorphin edge ? Or good old speedgoat ? Less concerned about speed more about comfort - have a semi wide foot ( I’m a 10.5 wide in the speedgoat ) thanks ! Thanks

I think the tie box is exactly the same both come up tight had to size half up tecton x is better and lighter
Secure the bag! This is gonna be for my wife, though, so it's even better for me because I plan to win this to give it to someone else. I'm such a nice guy!!
Secure the bag! I enjoy the TectonX1 but I'm not paying the bump in price, it is not justified.
Last year I had an injury and Sunday I ran with my tecton x for the first and I felt better than ever , love all your videos and information
Secure the bag! Thank you Thomas & Robbe for your videos, never missed on of them. I would love to secure that for my next trail run. I also follow believe in the run on Strava. It is great, informative and entertaining, so much fun to follow you. Keep the good work!

If only HOKA could replicate their success in their trail shoes into the road shoes........
Secure the bag! Thanks for the review
I am so glad I skipped v1 to get v2. 100% a buy.
That vest would look great on me at Skunk Ape's Revenge, here in FLA, in February.
Would be awesome to secure the bag for my first 100 mile trail race in December. I ran my first half marathon in January this year!
Hydration vest looks cool actually
I'd like to know if anyone has run an Obstacle course race in these and how they hold up. I usually run the long distance and multiple events through the year and have only used Salomon for this but love HOKA for the road races. Any feedback would be appreciated before I purchase. Thanks.

Hi
Non USA resident - but shoe question
So planning a 50k ultra next year at the Dead Sea
It’s non technical - gravel - dusty - salt bridge - pothole type terrain
Pretty flat
