It was interesting (and rather sad) to notice that the graphic they used for the cast was the cast from the actual stage production and not the television series...

Love this show though I am not a Korean Canadian (I am naturalized Taiwanese Canadian )
though my English is fine (because back in the 90's they like to hire Torontian white guys to man Taiwanese English cram schools so most Taiwanese whom speak good English in that generation speaks with a "white Canadian from Toronto" accent)
I literally turn into Appa (well expect the bolding part :P) when I am speaking French XD

it's a brilliant show most of the time, and it has nothing to do with representing asians on tv (if you want to see a show about a certain race of people as a relief from the "normal", it really says more about your character to be honest).
this show is funny because of the good writing and jokes like poking fun at accents and bad english (heck we tease my mom about her bad english!) or difference in cultural norms or even inability of people to get over ancient (literally a century old) grudges!
over all a really funny show, good job guys

I would agree that it is a great show because it is funny.. great writing, great comedy.. anyone can relate to it. However, I disagree that wanting to see a show with specific races is pathetic or says something bad about your character. People want to see the real population represented on TV. Everyone, including white people get bored of seeing just white faces on tv all the time.

The show is not poking fun at accents at all. The accents are a layer of authenticity in the actors' performances. The show is about family, identity, and giving a voice to a group that has been underrepresented.

How come there's no bad weather/snow/cold weather in any of the episodes? Definitely makes it inauthentically Toronto.
And no Christmas episode for a Christian family? C'mon, bruh...
