Im doing homeschool this fall my kids will be just turned 5, 3.5, and 1.5. Id LOVE an updated video on what you are doing and essentiall things for thriving at homeschool! I love that you include your faith as a factor were followers of jesus and that is the number 1 thing we prioritize in EVERYTHING in our life so it would be great to hear your perspective on some other curriculum and what has worked for your kids! Ive watched the one you posted a few months ago as well but would still love another! Thanks for sharing❤
Hey Kayla! We Love the good and the beautiful. The preschool level is more pre-k 3 and the kinder prep is more pre-k4. I think from what I’ve seen Riley is ready for the kindergarten level. Also when the books refer you to watching a video they’re talking about the free good and beautiful app that you can download. They also have a youtube channel with the videos but it’s way easier to access on their app when homeschooling. Hope this helps 😊
Good morning! I have used The Good and Beautiful for my oldest who is 7 now and I liked the older grade levels. We started with 1st grade when she was 5. It just suited her ability at the time. Now my 2.5 year old can start the preschool curriculum, which we have, but I am starting with kinder prep for her and add their handwriting. I feel Riley might do better with their kindergarten curriculum. She is very advance for her age.
We have used The Good and the Beautiful curriculum for years and we love it! They try to make the lessons open-and-go which is why there isn't a separate teacher's manual. They just want it to be simple and not stressful. Also they don't go in-depth with gospel teaching because they want people from all Christian denominations to be able to use it. No matter what translation of the bible you read, young-earth or old-earth beliefs, the trinity, etc. Additional/deeper scripture teaching at home is recommended.
We are not religious (I was raised VERY anti religion, but I want to let my kids make their own decisions and beliefs) and I like the minimal mention of god. It's easy to completely leave out or adapt if I wanted. I think this is a good simple toddler curriculum, but for kids under 5, I actually prefer Blossom and Root. I really appreciate this walkthrough, thanks so much!
For those who dont want to have to pass the book around from teacher to student, then just photocopy the page you are reading if you can, and give the book to the student and then you still have your lines ❤
My oldest is in his 4th grade year and I’ve been homeschooling him since he was 4 for preschool. We started off with the old version of the good and the beautiful preschool curriculum. It’s changed a little bit but I’m thinking of using it again for my youngest who recently turned 4 ❤ thanks for the fill through! It was very helpful.
Ive been homeschooling my 2 boys age 8 and turning 3 next week! And we use the Good & Beautiful and absolutely love it 💛 So excited to see you’re homeschooling too!
This is my first year homeschooling and this is the same curriculum I picked for my son as well for prek for his language arts and math. I’m so excited! I was a teacher before becoming a mom and sahm so I’m excited to teach again!
Good morning Kayla! This is the curriculum I’ve been eyeing and I actually first heard about it through one of your viewers. Thank you for the video! This was so helpful. I’m kind of sold on the horizons and implement other things as you do. I’m also catholic and looking for actual bible stories in whatever curriculum we go with.
I just think it is so awesome you’re homeschooling! This motivates me so much and I can’t wait to homeschool my son. He will be 2 next month. You’re just such a good mom, and thank you for being a light for Gods Kingdom! 💛 I wish you lived in Texas, I feel like we’d be besties lol.
Pretty Awesome! I like everything in this curriculum specially that it combines multiple subjects or disciplines into one comprehensive and cohesively designed program. What do you mean by PreK-3 and PreK-4 you mentioned?
Have you tried My Father’s World? It’s so sweet and has the bible intertwined through everything. We supplement with “The Good Gospel” by the Peaceful Press and we love it! It has a bible verse of the week with a song of that verse for memorization, a colouring page, a letter of that week to colour, and a sweet bible story that corresponds. We start every Monday with it and then I play the song every morning of that week! It’s been a blessing to our homeschool ❤
My daughter is 5 and going into kindergarten at a private catholic school. I’ve been doing TGTB kindergarten math and ELA curriculum with her this summer. Personally, I feel the ELA has been a little too easy but the math has been spot on with where my daughter is at/still challenging her. From what I’ve seen of Riley in your videos (and I’m fully aware it’s just a small glimpse into you and your family!), I think she could handle the kindergarten curriculum. I’m sure she’ll get through the preschool concepts quickly and be ready for K! My daughter has really enjoyed this curriculum.
The only thing I need to work on more with my boy is uppercase and lowercase letters. I was thinking about getting the kindergarten prep for him for this year but I guess I have some more to work on with him. Thanks for showing and reviewing/comparing the curriculum.
I’m going to use the level k after we finish what we are working on. Did you do the assessments? Because they could be a level higher than what you got. My oldest would be prek 4 if she were in public school but after assessments she is level k
ive done so much research on what curriculum I want to use when it cane time i loved what the good and beautiful had, but for preschool i decided im going to go with the gentle and classical curriculum but im also going to get the good and beautiful book just for extra
I bought the mammals and marine biology for my son he is a few months younger than Riley and also very into science and all that so I’m excited I looked into the young science kit you got and I didn’t feel like that was advanced enough for my son. Love this curriculum!
How's it been having to read or share the curriculum with your children? This video actually made me really want to try TGTB.. but I am concerned about sharing the book with the kids
Thank you for the review ,I have heard some controversy about this curriculum and I like how it has the practice sheets and cards, and fun activities. We are a 3lingual family and I m yet to figure out how to teach my little one(who is 16 months soon) 3 languages...she already understands our natives when we speak and we talk in English between each other, so she hears that too, I m trying to look for more info on bilingual teaching and best resources. It is hard, not going too lie... if you teach yours any other language, please share your approach and if it works for you. Thanks, let s be friends)))😊 btw. Love how realistic your kitchen is looking, subscribing😅
This is incorrect. The real name of the "Mormon" religion is "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints". If they didn't believe in Jesus why would they name their church after him? It is just another denomination of Christianity.
@@kellyj1994 Mormons are not christians. They believe that after the resurrection and judgement many will meet the requirements to achieve exaltation or the highest level of salvation in the celestial kingdom wherein they will eternally live in God's presence, continue as families, become gods, create worlds, and have spirit children govern. This is what they consider salvation and eternal life. They become gods of their own worlds. They believe Lucifer and Jesus both wanted to be the savior of the spirit children of God the Father but ultimately Jesus was chosen. So Jesus is just one of the sons of God, not The Son of God. Which would mean Jesus was created which He was not. He always existed with God the Father. Latter-day Saints generally do not see the fall as a serious sin or as an overwhelmingly negative event. Rather, the fall is viewed as "a necessary step in the plan of life and a great blessing to all of us. Because of the Fall, we are blessed with physical bodies, the right to choose between good and evil, and the opportunity to gain eternal life. None of these privileges would have been ours had Adam and Eve remained in the garden. Latter-day scripture reports that Adam and Eve later rejoiced that they had chosen to partake of the fruit,[86] and the Book of Mormon teaches that the fall was necessary for humankind to exist and for them to experience joy, which is the ultimate purpose of existence. This is not Christianianty and what it means to be a follower of Jesus and to have a relationship with Him.
@@whitehotglory9895 Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints believe that we are all God's children. The Good and the Beautiful curriculum does not teach any doctrine specific to any Christian denomination. It only lightly touches on basic principles of a Christian world view, such as "God created the animals". It is not meant to be a Bible study. People who are fearful because the owner of the company is a member of a different church than them are being extremely ignorant and looking for reasons to justify their prejudice.

Check out Catholic Heritage Curricula! It’s sooo pretty and I’d loved it as a kid. The older the grades get the better in my opinion. :)
Good morning! 💕
This curriculum is really good for parents who are learning how to homeschool and children who are learning how to be taught
Let your past make you better, not bitter.
Whats your goal for kindergarten as a homeschool teacher?
Are you still doing TGTB
Yep! Riley’s doing the kindergarten math and language arts
That curriculum isn’t going to Christ centered bc they don’t believe Jesus is God
Anything is better than the public schools these days
