His gentle, elegant touch, and flawless phrasing gives the piano a delicate singing voice - so appropriately, because this is a vocalise, a voice singing! Wonderful.
After all the other transcriptions I have heard over the years, for the piano alone, I didn't think there was anything new to say. I was wrong. This is wonderful.
I'm practicing your "Vocalise", and every time I come back to listen to your performance, I'm astounded by the way you design the melody in the great amount of notes... It's incredible.
Vocalise of Sergei Rachmaninoff's - is a pearl of piano music that can touch a person's soul, think about what we live for. . .Hearty thanks to You, Maestro for the delightful performance !
I think this is a Brilliant arrangement and I believe too that you Mr. Gryaznov are a very rare and wonderful Talent. Thank you so much for sharing your gift with us.
I really like how chordal and pure this is without all that extra unnecessary filigree stuff that other arrangers put in. Makes is so much more accessible and epic.
There’s that expression, “The world will end not with a bang but a whimper.” Perhaps Rachmaninov had a glimpse of the sonic apocalypse while composing this work then Mr. Gryaznov had a vision to distill it to a fantastically beautiful and quiet pianistic nebulae
A delight once again to hear Vyacheslav Gryaznov's playing. Some pianists are mere technicians and we are always disappointed listening to them. Not so with Grayaznov. He makes the profoundly difficult appear easy.
This piece is nearly the ultimate elegiac. Some years ago the main theme was used for a Gospel song titled “The resurrection” very effective and beautiful. Rachmaninov sure had an extremely haunting soul! PWG
He will play in Carnegie Hall's Weill Hall in March!! That's just the Recital Hall, for a few hundred lucky people. He should be filling the Carnegie main hall.
He'll get to the main stage, don't worry! Much better to go as a mature artist than a young prodigy. We have far too many prodigies, with all the right notes in impeccable order, and no idea at all of how to play them.
In 1979 Richard Smallwood released his debut Gospel LP. One prominent track is entitled “The Resurrection”Upon first hearing it I knew, intuitively, the melody was classic. Some years afterwards I heard this vocalize. I then knew and was not surprised that it is Rachmaninov’s work. The Richard Smallwood arrangement is impressive. PWG
wow, several different transcriptions exist of this but I think he has surpassed them all. Definitely need to get the score! So wondering played as well.
Beautiful piece. I purchased the music for my advanced piano student. May I please inquire if there is an MP3 of your performance I may also purchase for him to study? Thank you for your courtesy in replying.
whose interpretation is it from 37.00 to about 3.52? i like it but it's not! from Kocis or Richardson ! Can you tell me broadly about it? Great work and sensitive---thank you for putting it up!
I love the voice leading in this version the most; however, overall, my favorite version is still Kocsis's, due to the broader breadth of textural variety, colour, and intensity, especially towards the end.
I simply don't like this variety if we are speaking about the Vocalize) I don't think it helps the piece to blossom. For my taste, in the Kocsis' case it is just the variety for itself. It's my very humble opinion.
Really very expressive your arr. interpreted with Russian feeling in the soprano part and in the touch of the intermediate part (tenor): C# minor is from Beethoven and Chopin, also Rachmaninov's refuge as well as the famous Prelude and mine dedicated to him and I guess inspired by him... Enjoy your listening in 150 anniversary of his birth ! ruclips.net/video/v6oAUYscl60/видео.html
Please dear good pianist you play very well but can you listen at the same piece conducted by Rachmaninov himself. And i'd tell you the tale:when the young Richter came to Neuhaus to have a lesson about the second Pianoconcerto had the following answer"What can i Say,Just buy Rachmaninov record and listen to It UNtil the disc Is completeley destroyed' So please listen the CD until It Is completeley destroyed...

Wonderful! A piece transcribed by many, but never so beautifully. It breathes pure Russia.
Aravind Aravind Agreed. I've been looking for this transcription!
It smells vodka and genius
After all the other transcriptions I have heard over the years, for the piano alone, I didn't think there was anything new to say. I was wrong. This is wonderful.
Невероятно талантливое исполнение! Какое дыхание! Транскрипция потрясающая!
Gorgeous! Thank you! Saw him in concert Sat night with G-Phil orchestra. Prefer his sensitive piano pieces.
Very emotional, sensitive and touching perfomanse. The pure Russian Soul! Thank you very much, Slavik.

I can't imagine anything more beautiful. It is a beautiful rendition and a beautiful performance!
Your attention to voicing is so awesome omg

Eines Tages hoffe ich dass ich es spielen werde, es ist so schoen und melancholisch

I was there at his Weill Hall recital, and it was absolutely gorgeous. He is also remarkably charming.
Я уже писал, что Вячеслав - самый выдающийся музыкант современности? :)
This is perfection.

Stunning!

На мой вкус это лучшая транскрипция из всех существующих.
Amazing

Слава, супер! спасибо!)
Очень сильно !!!
Beautiful! It's Op.34 No.14 though.
yes, we know
@@christianspillemose4074 Sorry, I was only trying to help!
J'adore son jeu, sans ostentation !
The best
Thank you so much for the interpretation. Congratulations! Greetings from Brazil.
Наверное так играл сам Сергей Васильевич! Как проникновенно!!! Probablement aussi joué lui-même, Sergueï Vassilievitch! Comme le mien!!!

Боже , что за музыка ...
Isn’t it op.34 no 14 and not op 35 no 14????
Incredibly well recorded as well as a beautiful instrument. Can you tell us the piano, mics, recording technician, etc?
I just found the opus number written in the title might be wrong? (op. 34/14 ?)
yes, my mistake, thank you for noticing

Can't you read? It's Gryaznov's own transcription!
I love the voice leading in this version the most; however, overall, my favorite version is still Kocsis's, due to the broader breadth of textural variety, colour, and intensity, especially towards the end.

@@VyacheslavGryaznovPiano I agree. I think Kocsis's transcription, while exquisite, loses the true soul of the melody near the end. I love your work.
@@VyacheslavGryaznovPiano I agree and I feel the same about most of Earl Wild's transcriptions, especially Zdes Khorosho.
It is beautiful and I love the melancholy, it oozes with emotions of pain and love. Truly beautiful 😍 💖
