This piece was composed for piano, yet in my opinion it sounds better when played by a full orchestra, or at least by THIS particular full orchestra. NOTE: The orchestra doesn't begin playing until 0:53, so those who are pressed for time may want to skip ahead to that point.
I recently discovered this performance, and , having listened to countless versions of the Military Polonaise for orchestra, I believe this to be the best performance of Chopin's work. I think Chopin would have approved. Thanks for posting this
LAWR, he knew. He composed 2 concerts for orchestra. How could he did it without knowing the other instruments??? The only reason why he didn't make a lot more such big compositions was his health condition. It's hard to write something bigger, what needs more strenght and planning, when you are coughing with blood every day, even vomiting with blood at the end, have a fever every day and general weekness due to tuberculosis.
@@lavendelblue4368 He wasn't good at orchestrating. The concertos are just piano pentagrams with "Tutti" marked and sometimes some instruments marked but nothing more.

I love Chopin
Totally agree. In fact, I am gonna do a rock guitar version of this. :)
Me too !
Love how the trumpets/cornets have the melody! Gives more heroism to the piece :D

¡magnífica! 👏👏👏😍😍😍👏👏👏
Mi favorita
Wonderful orchestration!
Damn, if Chopin knew more instruments he could be the greatest composer..
Well, he does compose the greatest pieces on piano that's for sure.

Rab Feenie. Yes, indeed. :)))))
He knew (listen to his two piano concertos) but he generally hated performing in big concerts.
What? Chopin was a great composer, one of the greatest. He chose piano

Pięknie brzmi! Brawo!!!
(Poprawić nazwisko dyrygenta w podpisie!)
NAŁĘCZ-NIESIOŁOWSKI, nie "Natecz-Niesiolowski" :-)))
Which Polonaise is this?
It is military poloniase
@@horowitzvladimir6956 there's more than 1.
Op 40, No. 1
It is Polonaise Number 3 (Militaire)
Am I the only person who thinks the trumpet is played a bit too much in this piece? Especially the frist half-ish
Eso la hace más militar por eso es la Polonesa militar.
Horrible orchestration.
