  • A bit of human touch as the Customer Relationship manager of the Service Center wanted to hand me back the watch in person and apologise for the delay. I’m glad to have the dark lord back on the wrist.

    To be honest, the point around METAS re-certification post-service is a really interesting one; I'd be interested to know what Omega does when its models reach their normal service intervals. If not, which makes sense for them to not do, then technically nothing is going to be METAS-certified for longer than 5-10 years.

    Happy you’re happy, but IMO, If you buy a new watch certified by METAS, and a few days later it stops working, the least TUDOR could have done is to offer you a new, equally certified unit.
    You've gone three months without your new piece, and instead of compensating you, you get something back, a little worse.

    Glad you got Darth Tudor back! Funny how the bad experience fades away. From an outsider's perspective, I think Tudor's service and response were poor - if that was you're one watch you'd saved for, well that would have sucked and felt far from luxurious. But thanks for charting your experience for the benefit of the world wide watch comm!

    Happy that you have that beauty back. I was waiting almost three months for my "Speedy" for an issue with the chronometer. My brother has been a similar issue with his Patek and he was waiting just two months and a half. It seems to me that in this regard, most brands act in a similar way, they hardly give explanations and they take a long time. Thanks for your video.

    I think that the original METAS or chronometer certification holds until service time, but it does demonstrate the ability of the movement to perform at this level. That's good enough for me.

    Assuming nothing was altered regarding the balance, the regulation should’ve held fine. The magnetic resistance and shock resistance are features of the caliber’s physical properties, so I think it’s fine in all honesty.

    So overall, would you buy it again on day 1 knowing you would be running soon after into that problem ? And would you recommend that watch or other future tudor releases with the same movement ?

    • @UptickWatchReviews
      @UptickWatchReviews  2 года назад +2

      Too early to judge and I really don’t like not knowing at all what the issue was and if other users might encounter it. As some people have pointed out, never great to be the first to test a new movement but we’re all incentivised to go and get the latest thing and if you don’t you grab it when you can you won’t have a chance to for months probably.

    No not acceptable you should have been offered a new one or have your own one repaired at your discretion. Also they should have explained exactly what the problem was with the movement. I have the Black Bay Bronze 2019 edition and love it. The new one you mention is stunning , but so is your beautiful ceramic piece . I have nothing but respect for your opinions and views after watching your video Sir 👍 Tam.

    I have the same watch, keeps perfect time- beautiful piece. My gripe with this one, and two other Tudors with stock leather straps, is the straps. The straps have a synthetic substrate, rubber or similar material. Very uncomfortable from the outset and they don't get softer (at least not by much). I'm ordering a Michael Knapp Leather custom Black alligator strap keeping the stock Tudor deployment clasp. Those are very comfortable straps!

    • @UptickWatchReviews

    I think we need to forget about the analogy of Tudor being a poor man's Rolex. Back in the day, an ETA movement was used. I sold a 2002 Sub no date that never got much wrist time and put the money into a Tudor Pro and a Ranger and still had £2850 left over. I am surprised that there is a waitlist for Tudor, managed to get the Pro in 2 months. I want the Ceramic, next year apparently. I have done very well collecting Rolex professional models, so I will slowly get out of these and move into Tudor; they are doing much more exciting things! I will always have 4 Rolex watches in the collection, but the other 3 can go in the next few years as I move into Tudor. Current Tudor collection, BB GMT, BB58, BB Pro - waiting for the Ranger.

    Congratulations on having your watch back, more importantly it is being properly serviced by Tudor/Rolex service centre. IMHO keep this BB Ceramic in your collection, I will never sell it, you cannot find another with such great value for money. Tudor is definitely not poor man’s Rolex, the BB58 18K is retailing at more than a steel Daytona in SRP. Some critics say it is overpriced, look beyond the price and I see value in this Ceramic and BB58 18K.

    The day after a watch is tested it could be out of metas, cosc, Rolex or any other standard it may have had. I dont think its important it wasnt retested. It is a watch capable of attaining metas standard. watch . With the length of time a service takes youd think it had been retesyed It takes many days to certify

  • @leeharding8306
    @leeharding8306 2 года назад

    Not a fan of these although I like Tudor and have owed a few. The lack of a lume pip on the bezel and virtually unreadable text on the bezel is a bad design choice and gives this model a fashion watch look for me. I’m glad it’s all work out for the best. Tudor are certainly making some interesting watches unlike it’s parent company.
