"Lifelight" SSBU - 664 Member Orchestra Version (The 8-Bit Big Band Virtual Community Orchestra)

- EVERYONE IS HERE!! In this arrangement of "Lifelight" (Super Smash Bros Ultimate Main Theme) a whopping 664 musicians that are friends and fans of The 8-Bit Big Band recorded themselves remotely to form the very first ever 8-Bit Big Band Virtual Community Orchestra! They lent their time and talent to this epic full orchestra and big band recording, submitting their video and/or audio online from dozens of countries!
During the unfortunate events of the COVID-19, I wanted to create a way for musicians and video game music fans to come together virtually to work together on a piece of music we could all be proud of, and celebrate our love for the Great Video Game Songbook together!
I hope you have as much fun listening as I did putting it all together. If you contributed your musicianship, thank you so much for your time and talent, and as always thank you for listening and supporting!

"The 8-Bit Big Band" is a 30-65 member Jazz/pops orchestra that formed to celebrate and realize some of the best themes from video game music from all consoles and eras arranged in a large ensemble Jazz/Pop/Rock setting!
Blending together timeless musical themes from Nintendo, Sega, Playstation, and more then re-arranging them in genres and styles of all musical inspirations, The 8-Bit Big Band has members from all around the world, but most reside primarily in New York City, and are some of the most highly sought after musicians and performers.

My son is in the upper left corner playing the flute at the 30 second mark and again at around the 3:30 mark in the lower lefthand corner. He was very excited to be a part of this.
His name is Jacob and he amazes me at his musicianship and I'm not just saying that because he's my son. Very proud of him.

This is incredible. This had to take weeks to compile, develop, and edit, and I cannot say it's any less than absolutely fantastic.
We got sheet music around April 1st, had until the 8th to submit video/audio, and editing went until around a month after that
Seriously, though, just the task of synchronizing all of the different tracks is one I don't even want to think about....

Really put emphasis on the "Big" in The 8-Bit Big Band. This is amazing! I don’t even know how everyone managed to coordinate with one another and just sync up so well with so many people. But all I really care is that this exists and I love it!

I just have to say wow. This was truly an extraordinary project to play with. Everything was on point and well worth the wait. This is truly a once in a life time experience and I wish we could do projects like this daily. It was great seeing so many familiar faces whether it be from the 8 Bit Big Band Discord, IRL, or reputation alone; I am honored to play along side each and every one of you.

Everyone's talking about the musicians, who did a great job, but no one is talking about the editor. This had to be a nightmare to put together, to time and balance everything correctly, but it was done masterfully.
To say this is an incredible arrangement would be an understatement. I particularly love how much it takes from the character select version of Lifelight (and others in the game) rather than only the song!!
This is the best performance of this song. Don't be humble. Don't downplay it. This is gold. This is it. I'm proud that people are awesome enough to do this despite everything.

Now this is certainly a performance to be proud of. Even with this pandemic bringing so much down on everyone, instead of rushing out an animation, you instead work out a collaboration to truly set the tone of not only the song, but the entire series. Well done, to everyone in the video!
Also, would the part at around 1 minute happen to be a reference to Rainbow Road? I happened to get that vibe from the strings there if not and it turned out beautifully to keep the pace of the song moving.
