Maybe also Demise but nintendo confirmed Ganondorf so... maybe Demise is transforming Ganondorf or something, when he powers or rehydrates fully he looks more like Demise?
The way I'm looking at it is that Breath of the Wild was like the child part of Ocarina of Time pre-Master Sword. Tears of the Kingdom is the adult part.
Honestly, I know that everyone is saying the structure rising in the Gerudo sand is Arbiter's Grounds, but to me it looks more like Lanayru Mining Facility from Skyward Sword, especially since it rises from the sand, unlike Arbiter's Grounds.
Its almost like hey we couldnt do what we wanted with Skyward Sword with the islands, so we're giving Skyward of the Wild. Im in! Also, makes me wonder if doing things in the past has an effect on the future?
You really are next level Lim, you don't just know every location, you even know flora and fauna and can pinpoint a new tree (cherry blossom tree) in a given area.
this trailer really exceeded all expectations for me personally. I didn't expect half of it. this game is probably going to be game of the year and I will sink so, so many hours into it. the trailer was really everything and more of what I wished for.
Not sure if the new towers come out of the ground. My theory is they drop out of the sky after Link solved a puzzle up there. They would work like spears penetrating the ground and become elevators into the underground. Two reasons I think this. First is that they do not appear simultaneously anymore and second is that it would be a bit lame to have them come out of the ground again.
My theory is that Zelda was sent back in time to save her from falling but this sent the past Zelda forward in time. Zelda looks like she's in Zonai clothes by how the earrings are the same bulb design that's on the ranger construct so I'd assume she's been sent back to when the Zonai were alive. The character later in the trailer that's wearing the same outfit as zelda could be Zonai Zelda because she's using a similar magic that Zelda used in botw. When Zelda looks up at the Zonai guy and says "link", she might not be speaking to the player, but to the past, zonai version of link who she's back with.
Lim, you were born to do this! Your insight and quick analysis if the trailer, along with your thorough knowledge of the current Hyrule, help you in your theorizing of this presentation in such a precise, and efficient manner! I am excited for Tears of the Kingdom, and I believe that it will eclipse Breath of the Wild! I am not discreting BotW in any way. I am saying that BotW paved the way to this Masterpiece that we all will be enjoying in 29 days! Thank you Lim for your amazing Insight, and this incredible presentation!
In what way is fighting ganon crazy? Even if he has people helping him? People get so excited and throw the word "crazy" at extremely ordinary things. Ganon has been the villain they use since the 80's (though now they more often use the humanoid Ganondorf version from the 90's than the pig guy) - not seeing the big surprise here. Now he's like just a red haired human dude again, so that's actually less intimidating than his creepy screwed up spider form from botw - it's even less exciting.
@@Vaquix000 A lot of us just think it's epic that everyone is banding together to fight Ganondorf's forces. This is now truly a war against Ganondorf. You can take your negativity elsewhere.
I giggled so much while watching the trailer!!! Especially when Sidon showed up. I was hoping he’d show up again!!! Also I think the young Rito is Tiba’s child! Really exciting
I agree, I think that fiery figure was Demise, not Ganondorf. Furthermore, the TotK symbol, the Ouroboros leads me to think that this not only the END of the timeline, but also the beginning as well. What if the figure at 36:24 the "not-zelda" is really Nayru, meanwhile Din and Farore are doing their things too? perhaps it's the return of the three goddesses, godess Hylia's boss? perhaps Skyword sword was re-released to highlight the LoZ origins?
The best thing about this platform detail is that Zelda (and the round platform itself) is in front of the TEMPLE OF TIME! So the TIME-travel theory is even cooler and would demonstrate genius writing, storytelling and game design by the team. This game is going to be the real thing, and botw will feel like a prequel to the main game 😅
Looks like that woman could be Zelda's mom. She was close with Urbosa, so that's probably why she's in Gerudo Desert there. In King Rhoam's journals, he writes that she died when Zelda was only 6. He probably gave Zelda her mother's jewelry in that scene..
i'm rewatching this now that the game has been out for a while and it's INSANE how many things you got right in your predictions. your incredible knowledge of BOTW and ability to recognize regions from a few pixels in the background, mixed with your sharp deductive skills, made you spot on for like 99% of the analysis.
The melody in this scene at 14:08 (about 1:20 in the original trailer) is almost note-for-note the Twilight Princess motif, except it ends differently. I don't know if this means anything at all, but I thought I'd point it out :)
Every trailer that releases my first thought is: I cant wait to see Limcubes reaction/analysis! So many little details that you catch. Your wonderful work always keeps me hype :]
I’m going to make a bold claim, all this stuff is past Hyrule, from before Skyward Sword, crashing into present Hyrule for one reason or another. The stuff is more ruined possibly because of quickly traveling forward in time. Link’s recall ability will be used to see what Zelda’s up to in the past
WHY HAVENT THEY SHOWED YUNOBO?! THEY SHOWED ALL OTHER DESCENDANTS (Riju, Sidon and Teba who got substituted due to his injury ig). DOES THIS MEAN NO MORE YUNOBO?! :D
you can also see an icon that looks a bit like the icon on daruk's necklace and all over goron city during the battle with the goron at 26:27 a few frames later
When Link uses recall against the octorok, he actually stops time first, then he selects the boulder to send it back. Why does it seem like no one is noticing this?
I slowly get the feeling the Skylands are going to be something like the afterlife: Zelda falls down and dies, that' s why she' s up there; Link' s corruption is GOING to kill him, that' s why he can visit both worlds; Souls can' t interact with the physical world, that' s why the Zonai need the constructs. Also the living can' t "see" heaven, that' s why in BotW the Skylands weren' t around. This would also explain the logo of the two dragons: Life and Death. And the Zonai Stones with the green swirls? Tombstones.
The voice that I hear when that character is talking to Zelda is Bill Rogers, King Rhoam’s voice actor. I haven’t played Three Houses yet and have not heard Ayato’s voice in Genshin, so I’m not sure it’s Chris Hackney. I will listen to Ayato and Dimitri and see if I can find a resemblance.
08:40 To me, this is the most confusing scene in the trailer. TotK seems to play long after BOTW. But why is the area in front of the castle still so destroyed (unchanged to the situation in BOTW). 14:24 Imagine we have kind of a "Groundhog Day" scene here? 18:02 Zeltik revealed that it says "tower" written on the platform 21:49 He's got FOUR tears at his belt. So this must be a late stage of the game, standing in a renovated tron hall. To me this proves time travel. 29:17 The tent has got a Shieka Logo on it.
Amazing that you were able to recognize the location where Zelda is sitting at the end of the trailer to be the same as the sky island that Link is flying past in the opening of the trailer. Great spot! Definitely lends a ton of weight to the time travel speculation.
At 8:04, we see an old man walking in Hateno, and that NPC walks and looks the exact same as the old man in Terry Town, so maybe Terry Town was destroyed or this NPC moved because Terry Town became unsafe. This is just a thought.
It looks like an ice insect. According to Wind Waker, I will assume this is this game’s version of Ghoma. The Rito are being assaulted by a massive insect that causes a storm over their mountain… Sound an awful lot like Wind Waker to me.
04:48 No offense I had laugh hard. Not in a bad way but about your cute fascinated confusion. 🤣 I think it represents perfectly the reaction of all Zelda Fans world wide.
I really wish there was something I could feel excited for in this game. I guess I would have had to have liked breath of the wild at least a little bit to look forward to anything about this one. It's a shame the zelda franchise is just some awkward sandbox thing now, I used to look up to nintendo as games designers.
If underground is a thing and Zelda is playable I reckon she will be stuck underground with Gannon and you have too save her while she also has playable segments down there
Ok so are we thinking all those extra pins that came out and the back of the controller, that these are all variants of recall. So like a recall ability where u make objects like rocks falling go backwards in time, then one that lets u recall an area kind of like the time mechanic in skyward sword. Maybe that one that looks like an eye is how you can view what something looked like in the past to solver puzzles but also allow us to see hyrule pre calamity
I think you were on to something a few days ago when you pointed out in botw you 'recall' the memories. Looking like you'll use recall on the tears to see memories of zelda again, but this time from thousands of years in the past.
15:02 the Green Symbol looks like Stallord. And it would make sense because we see Arbiturs Grounds too. Maybe we will fight him underground after we go into the holes
Great video! I am very much with you on all points. I was basically yelling at the screen in another, unnamed, anlyais video that it was super clear in the end where Zelda talks, that it was taking place at that sky island but that it was cleary on the ground. I am also very convinced this will somehow take place in two different times. :)
zelda is in a mission to go back in time and restoring the master sword as she say "i know why i am here and now what to do" as she holding the recall tear and the master sword behind her hands
At 1:25 behind link is the same alter as seen when Zelda spoke at the end 4:33. I think this, along with how the terrain behind Zelda at the end is clear of the structures in the present overworld and Zelda's dialogue there, suggests time travel.

I love your passion for the game, Lim. I'm so excited for TOTK, as it's more of what I wanted in a new Zelda game. It seems to capture more of that mystical richness and wonder and depth that affected me so greatly as a kid, like with Majora's Mask.
Damn I WISH we got Zeldas like Majora's Mask still. That was made with creative vision. Botw and tears of boredom are made only with money in mind, taking advantage of the current open world sandbox trend. As much as I would have loved to be proven wrong by the trailer it's just more of the same, with nothing visually interesting to see and probably will have the same lack of interesting music, lack of enemy and boss variety, and finding the same things over and over instead of interesting discoveries.
Its Demise, and Its Ayato not Dainsleif
I don't think it's Demise. I think that Ganondorf is getting rehydrated by the blood moon, and this is a snippet of that cut scene.
Maybe also Demise but nintendo confirmed Ganondorf so... maybe Demise is transforming Ganondorf or something, when he powers or rehydrates fully he looks more like Demise?
It is probably Ganon. The Hyrule Warriors design is almost identical
It's Ganon bro
Nah, Demise’s hair is orange not Blood red
As amazing as Breath of the Wild is, I feel like Tears of the Kingdom is where the real story will begin.
I thought that that was Skyward Sword. But yeah I get what you are saying. Looking forward to it!
The way I'm looking at it is that Breath of the Wild was like the child part of Ocarina of Time pre-Master Sword. Tears of the Kingdom is the adult part.
19:54 I think this character now looks most like an anthropomorphized goat due to the horns and goatee (and no longer like a cat).
It has a horn on the snout too. It's draconic.
Honestly, I know that everyone is saying the structure rising in the Gerudo sand is Arbiter's Grounds, but to me it looks more like Lanayru Mining Facility from Skyward Sword, especially since it rises from the sand, unlike Arbiter's Grounds.
