You are an amazing teacher, you've made me feel that even I could do this! You are so calm, & your explanation of how & why things need to be done in a certain way is just perfect. Thank you x
thanks a lot Jane, your so thoughtful in your comments to me, I figure if you get the foundations right you can practice and make a journal any way you want to, using a recycled book makes a lot of sense, they turn out wonderful ♥︎♡☆🦋 hugs Donna
I also have taught book binding classes so I am super impressed by your care and details. Your instructions were perfect along with your finished cover. Well done 👍👍👍

Hi JC thanks for your lovely compliment :) the tops come with the bottle, all you need to buy separately is a cap to go over the top, i haven't got one yet, i must look for one thanks for the reminder ♥︎♡☆🦋 hugs Donna
I just purchased the same RDigest books from local op shop..Thank you so much Donna xx very very helpful. Was trying to decide wether to cover with fabric or paper..either way I love your way of covering xx💗💗💗😘👌😊
@@JunkJournalideas while Im waiting for you to do fabric cover, Im going to go back and watch your miter corner video and make it now..I think thats also brilliant for making those neat corners xx👌😊
Hi Donna this tutorial is very helpful. You showed us how to extend the paper to 14" leaving an inch around so that we can wrap the cover. What happens if I have a larger cover and the 12" by 12" scrapbook paper also doesn't fully cover the lining inside? Thanks!
hi Grace, what i would do in that instance is cut the inside cover into pieces, a front a back and cover the inside spine area with a piece of cotton fabric or the same paper pretty much the same as the outside really ♥︎♡☆🦋 hugs Donna
I guess it’s just a matter of opinion really...Book size doesn’t really matter to me...you can always trim your papers... or if your papers are a smidge smaller than your cover...not a big deal...as far as the spine being glued, I’ve managed to work around that little issue as well, you can gently release the book “bed” from any book. I usually select books for the beautiful covers because sometimes I don’t want to cover them with papers/materials. Maybe just distress them a bit, add some lace, vintage fabric collages...
thanks for sharing what works for you Eva, as for releasing glued in text blocks and using the original cover, well that's for another video, I have a long list lol ♥︎♡☆🦋 hugs Donna
hey Vicki, no not really, if you use the the full piece for the front spine and back on the outside first, then cover the spine on the inside and pop the end sheets (covers) on the inside last 🦋 hugs Donna
hi MichaelineAngelo I have made this video here that will help you out, I used fabric for this cover ruclips.net/video/c2vXqhc83I0/видео.html cheers Donna

Donna, I have some Florentine paper which is large enough to cover the book in the one piece. Do I need to do anything different?
hey Vicki, no not really, if you use the the full piece for the front spine and back on the outside first, then cover the spine on the inside and pop the end sheets (covers) on the inside last 🦋 hugs Donna
How would I cover the entire book cover with one big piece of paper?
hi MichaelineAngelo I have made this video here that will help you out, I used fabric for this cover ruclips.net/video/c2vXqhc83I0/видео.html cheers Donna
Very detailed and helpful! Thanks.
