Chords for "Alison" are:
Verse: A, B
Chorus: E, A (x3) D, E, B, A, E
Can use Amaj7 in the above. A also sounds good.
Lesson covers verse, chorus, and outro little riff.
I also show a few other ways to play the song that either sound more accurate or interesting.

"I don't know the lyrics but I know the melody"
Don't worry, neither does Slowdive...
lololol
Or any shoegaze band for that matter
@@jbasti227 Cocteou Twins: "you guys writte lyrics?"
I can't believe your channels isn't called Brett's Frets. Opportunity missed.
Sean Doyle or Brett Buzz
@@GrungeIsN0tDead or brett fuzz
@@smokernoker indeed, much appropriate
Brett’s Frets could also be him videos of him worrying and listing his anxieties
thank u bret for all u have done with this channel. it is a gold mine for people like me who like obscure indie rock
Awesome, thanks man! This is my favorite song and I'm just getting into guitar- appreciate the lesson!
Yup that's it. Add a Catalinbread "Soft Focus" pedal with the dials dimed, and it is exactly the same. Or you could use a Yamaha FX500 on setting 40, but that's exactly what the pedal is. (It's also called "the Souvlaki pedal")
Thanks man !
I love those purple headphones
Not sure if you are around, but thank you mate!
I'll be here trying to figure out what Yo La Tengo song you are thinking of lol. It honestly did, my guess something off of ICHTHBAO
Probably "You can have it all" ( from "And Then Nothing turned itself inside out", 2000)
Hey man, that was awesome what you did there starting at 9:47. How does one learn to play like that?
Years of practice ... Also, write your own songs and Jam a lot over songs you like .
Try to get away from memorizing and reading TAB .. .when I taught guitar, many songs had no TAB so had to learn songs by ear , which also really increases intuition (just playing by ear in general)

Has anyone ever described you as laconic?
Nope :), I talk too much usually ... assuming by laconic you mean using few words
i have been told i explain things clearly / concisely
i cant rhytm i dont know why
awesome vid.. could you do eno's here come the warm jets?
Cool D Dr, glad you liked the vid! Yeah , I can help eventually ... I have a lot of requests and do what I can. That's a cool song
Brett Sanders thanks man! yeah that's an incredible song and album... kinda predates mbv and shoegaze imo
That's interesting, I haven't thought about early shoegaze. I guess I think of Velvet Underground as a precursor too ... some of their songs
Brett Sanders definitely... VU are tied with pavement as my favorite band.. also check out spacemen 3 and lot of that krautrock stuff like can and neu! that had a p big influence on it
Are you into Galaxie 500 at all?
Zack jobe from @donutmedia look diffrent here
