At the show I went to, I saw a guy literally crying like her dead mother was born again... and then his BF kissed him during maybe three minutes... That's one of the best show memory I have haha

The bassist wearing a tshirt that says "Graveface" an independent record label that Monster Movie was on. He may be in Monster Movie one or two of the Slowdive guys were in that band. One of my favourite bands I recommend to anybody that reads this.
After 'The Cure' in '85 became the first band I ever favored, 'Slowdive' in '93 was to be second. I was truly taken by its music, and "When the Sun Hits" was the first tune of it becoming my fave. Just thinking back to it!
Only discovered slowdive a few months back at age 59 so glad I have playing their songs takes me back to a time when life seemed easy the sun always shined never recall rainy days and lying in the long grass holding Michelle's hand day dreaming was just amazing

The wall of guitars and the haunting harmonies are just second to none on this performance. ...I've loved this song ever since Souvlaki came out back in the day.
This is so emotionally complicated. On one hand, there is so much joy in listening to this beautiful performance for what it is. On the other hand, you can sense so much sadness in the band since they are basically reliving everything in their history that brought them to this concert playing this specific song, and most of that history has been pretty negative. On my third hand, I am just intensely angry at the completely raw deal that Slowdive got and how much this performance embodies it. This shouldn't have been an emotion-packed reunion... this should have been just another performance of an all-time great band going 15 years strong. But forces outside of the band disallowed that, and you can't even fall back on the old trick of blaming money hungry record labels. It was so-called music fans too concerned with acting like edgelording douchebags to recognize the greatness right in front of them. So yeah, this is a lot.
I adore this song. I can be worried, or frustrated, mad, and I am instantly grounded...well I guess I can say that with most "Slowdive" songs as I am a huge fan of their treasured unique sound, that still stands out in the shoegaze genre. 😍
I felt I needed to hear this track tonight. Just got their new album everything is alive. But even though I love the new album, Souvlaki was calling and had to hear this song.
I saw them perform this the other day for the first time, and I was filled with overwhelming emotion, I felt like I could cry. I’ve never experienced that at a show before!
