I'd love to *bring* the homemade classic version, but that assumes someone else is cooking. If I'm doing all the work, then it's the standard store bought for me.
I was so intrigued by the strawberry and toasted marshmallow fluff idea that I decided to make it today. The combination is heavenly! More camp cooking content please!
The best S'more I have ever had was a stroopwafel with a dark chocolate-dipped marshmallow. You just used one waffle, folded it like a taco, and WOW. It was absolutely amazing.
@@MirandaGoesOutside It was seriously incredible. My travel buddy Danielle (Live In The Adventure) came up with it and it changed my mind on S'mores forever.
Backpacker magazine years ago suggested using Nutella and biscotti, rather than chocolate and graham crackers. We started using Nutella rather than chocolate and haven't looked back since.
When my family went camping this fall, we stuffed chunks of dark chocolate into the toasted marshmallows. You just need to wait a minute for the chocolate to melt. Heavenly. Graham crackers optional.
Fun fact the inventor of the graham cracker was of the same mindset as Kellogg and made the Graham cracker as plain as possible to stop people from having "wild urges".
Super fun! This is an amazing fruit dip: 1/2 cream cheese (room temp for mixing) & 1/2 marshmallow fluff, use a mixer. Easy and delicious. Elevate with Carmel sauce and use for dipping green apples, chef's kiss! Thanks for sharing your videos gosh darn!
My friends got me into this thing s’more alternative years ago, you can use Girl Scout cookies to sandwich the toasted marshmallow between…you use the Caramel deLites® (formerly Samoas®) and it’s very good. Also adds a coconut flavor with the chocolate and gram cracker. Mmmmhhhh! 😋
Aw yay thank you! Glad you enjoyed it! And thank you for weighing in on if the gosh darn intro should move! Happy to know that the intro is where it should be.
I love the dynamic between you two. I never want that relationship to ever be compromised for any reason. You both are just amazing. Thank you both for what you do!!
Love the indoor hat. Great way to keep your hear out of your face when cooking. And with these energy prices... Thanks for the great idea to test things out indoors over the winter. Will definitely do that, and hopefully get an indoor camping feeling. Greetings from the Netherlands.
I've never been a big fan of s'mores, but I do love toasted marshmallows, so I am very tempted to immediately go to the grocery store for fluff & strawberries.
These s’more cookie bars are to die for. S’More Cookie Bars ½ cup (1 stick) butter or margarine, softened ¾ cup sugar 1 egg 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour ¾ cup graham cracker crumbs 1 teaspoon baking powder ¼ teaspoon salt 4 Hershey’s Milk Chocolate Bars (1.55 oz. each) 1 cup marshmallow crème Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease 8-inch square baking pan. In large mixer bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg and vanilla; beat well. Stir together flour, graham cracker crumbs, baking powder and salt; add to butter mixture, beating until blended. Press half of dough into prepared pan. Arrange chocolate bars over dough, breaking as needed to fit. Spread with marshmallow crème. Scatter bits of remaining dough over marshmallow; carefully press to form a layer. Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool completely in pan on wire rack. Cut into bars. Makes 16 bars.
I loved this video! When i was younger (and my mother wasn't around) we would use the stove element or even a scentless candle to make smores when we were craving them, but nothing could beat a classic campfire smore!
A really good dip for strawberries is a jar of marshmallow fluff mixed with a block of cream cheese. Just combine it with a hand mixer and voila. It’s delicious.
A spin off of the S'More...roasted marshmallow with chocolate square in between two medium/large sized homemade chocolate chip cookies, we called them 'Enufs' cuz one was usually enough! Oh I almost forgot…then you out the whole thing in aluminum foil over the fire (in a basket thingy) to warm up the cookies and chocolate bars, into melty yumminess!!!
Now that you've experienced the magic of marshmallow fluff you need to make a fluffernutter sandwich! I will for sure be trying the strawberry s'mores 😋
Yes what she said! There's all sorts of fluffernutter sandwiches! Fluff and peanut butter with nutella.... with bacon... with banana... with rippled potato chips... with any flavor jelly or jam then fry the sandwich in a pan!
Get peanut butter cookie dough, roll out individual cookies. Put a blob of fluff in middle of each cookie then place another unbaked cookie on top. Seal edges and bake. Mmmmmm!!!!!
Love the music when Miranda is assembling the homemade s’more. Never paid attention to the background music before. Third of the way through and loving it.
When I was a kid, my dad always used the ELFudge Stripes cookies and put our toasted mallow in that. Really good! I like to spread some Peanut Butter on the cookie sometimes as well, mainly because I love PB!
I love these diy videos. They’re a nice change of pace once in a while. I’m fairly new to this channel so you may have already made dehydrated meals. I just watched Sam Bananas rehydrate his wife’s dehydrated chili. That would be a great DIY episode. Followed by a backpacking trip where you try out what you make.
Okay, the S'mores dip that I always make uses milk chocolate chocolate chips (and a lot more than you used) and mini marshmallows (leaving some space between them because they'll expand). The ratio and flavor are a lot better and much more like actual S'mores. It's a great option if you don't have a flame-thrower. :)
My favourite smore recipe is the chocolate covered graham cookies, theyre like $2 for a whole bag of them, and marshmallows. Toast the marshmallow, and squisj it between to chocolate covered graham cookies. The thin chcolate melts easily and since it encases the cookies it just the right amount. It's crazy easy.
Try Mexican S’mores! Tortilla with peanut butter spread onto it, then add chocolate chips and mini marshmallows, roll it up, wrap in aluminum foil and heat up over a campfire. It’s basically a S’more burrito, so yummy!!
"It's basically a flamethrower" - Miranda Classic Also classic Miranda, carefully carrying the measuring cup with water to the stove instead of taking the medium pot to the sink
LOVE this video! I'm just outside Tacoma and we got a slight dusting of snow with that storm. I feel soooo cheated! Not a s'more recipe, but even better strawberry dip is to put that container of marshmallow fluff and put it in a bowl, add an 8 oz. brick of room temp cream cheese, a little bit of vanilla and mix it together. I call it crack dip because you can't stop eating it. It's supposed to be a fruit dip, but I use it specifically with strawberries. It has a cheesecake type of taste, so you could use the graham cracker crumbs with it too. It's AMAZING!!!
Soo my one of my sons and I watch your channel . ( teen aged ) he is now interested in hiking 🥾. Tada! lol However I had to wait till he came home from school since it’s a “ thing “ w us to watch you together . You’re insane , funny and a blast to watch . All the best Miranda !
I have to give credit to Chris Prouse a backcountry camper here in Canada. But the best go to s’more variant is a two bite brownie topped with dollop peanut butter and then a roasted marshmallow. We have never gone back to making a classic s’mores
All that sugar plus Miranda already super energized makes me wonder her roommates have a something to tranquillize her by bed time. Love her energy lol😂her eyes keeps moving around. Thx Miranda don’t ever change.
I love S’mores so much. I used to have a microwave s’mores maker that I would take to work with me. Definitely going to try the homemade s’mores next time I’m feeling fancy, and the strawberry ones when I’m feeling lazy. And the hot chocolate just for the vibes.
... Looked like a lot of Miranda fun ... Made my blood sugar level triple just watching the video ... and now I have to get some of this stuff just to try it ... ... Great way to spend trail/camp prep indoors ...
Miranda, you are a bubbly, silly ray of sunshine, and watching your videos always brightens my day and lifts my spirits! Next time you're planning a trip to VA, LMK. We'll go hike Grayson Highlands, hang out with the ponies, and eat s'mores 😂
I gotta admit, I didn't see the strawberry fluff combo as the hit, but I should have. One time while camping, I may or may not have been a bit altered and I roasted some strawberries on the campfire grill. It was one of the best things I've ever stuffed in my trap. *makes mental note to do that again this summer*
Coming soon! 😉 Next week’s video is about winter camping and the video the week after too! We just had to postpone the trip a bit because of the historic blizzard. It was going to snow so much we were afraid we would not be able to drive home!
My lazy Easter S'mores... Get the chocolate covered marshmallow eggs that come out a Easter, usually in the packages that resemble egg cartons. Of course one then needs the graham crackers. Take two graham crackers rectangles and squish a chocolate covered marshmallow egg inbetween. Not the best S'More, but is the laziest. :)
I made a giant s'more using an entire uncut homemade tray of marshmallow, entire tray of scored but not cut homemade graham cracker and whole dark chocolate bars. I roasted it in a tray pan hanging from a tripod over campfire. Was a great party hit but a lot of work!
Not really a viral recipe but adding sliced strawberry (or banana, or raspberries) to smores has always been my Fancy Camping Hack. I’ll have to try making marshmallows, you made it look easier than I thought it could be!
Your homemade S'mores look awesome. Here is the lazy backpacker recipe. Take two chocolate chip cookies. Brown a marshmallow and put it and a piece if chocolate between the two cookies. If you really want to go crazy smear some peanut butter on it.
Just make a classic S'more and put a split King's Hawaiian Roll on the outside (top and bottom). It makes the initial bite soft while helping to keep the whole thing together and tastes great.
My birthday is mid-October and it has become tradition to do a bonfire and one of my friends makes homemade marshmallows for s'mores! Edit to add that fudge instead of chocolate is a game changer, as is using either cinnamon graham crackers or gingersnaps.
Which of these would I bring to camp? Either the s'mores hot chocolate, or the strawberry s'more. The version with homemade marshmallows and graham crackers is too much prep before a camping trip. The s'mores dip and s'mores cookies require an oven, which I don't have on a camping trip. But I've tried a couple s'mores variants on camping trips that you didn't do. The first is a Nutella s'more. That's simple: just use Nutella instead of the chocolate bar. It spreads easily and sticks to the graham cracker, which makes it easier than balancing pieces of chocolate bar on a graham cracker when you might not have a solid table. Plus, it's got the hazelnut goodness. The other is a s'more pie. When camping, you can fill a store-bought graham cracker crust with pre-made chocolate pudding, then cover it with mini-marshmallows or marshmallow creme. Then use a propane torch to toast the marshmallow topping and serve. If anyone in your group is allergic to egg whites, then be aware that marshmallow creme (unlike marshmallows) includes egg whites. Fortunately, we discovered this during a practice meal at home, rather than during an actual camping trip.
Which of these viral s’mores would you bring to camp? Comment below!

S'moreberries!
I'd love to *bring* the homemade classic version, but that assumes someone else is cooking. If I'm doing all the work, then it's the standard store bought for me.
Going to try the Strawberry s’mores
The classic homemade one but with bacon 🥓😊
I love how she licks the spatula, her face lights up, quick cut and the spatula has been licked near clean 😂 Never change Miranda
😆 thank youuuu

Reese’s peanut butter cup smores is our camp fave
Marshmallow skillet with a blueberry base is delicious, like blueberry pancakes 🤤

Smore of this kind of content plz
The music playing while you were tasting the first smore felt like a 90s family movie where something magical was happening ❤
S’mores *are* magic
Campfire toasted marshmallow between two Keebler Fudge Stripe cookies. BAM!
OOOOO that sounds amazing!!!
At Girl Scout camp, we would put a roasted marshmallow between two "All Abouts" Girl Scout cookies (shortbread with chocolate bottom). YUM!
You forgot the S’moreo! Split open an Oreo and sandwich it with a toasted marshmallow! It’s our recent camping favorite.
When my family went camping this fall, we stuffed chunks of dark chocolate into the toasted marshmallows. You just need to wait a minute for the chocolate to melt. Heavenly. Graham crackers optional.

Nalgene rolling pin, that was very slick
Just thinking of making each smore ingredient from scratch made me instantly exhausted. But they look amazing. YUM. Would be a really fun dessert.
