I have never seen one of these in the flesh as I live in Australia where we drive on the left. GM America has never built right hand drive cars (the C8 Corvette will be the first) and consequently they were never brought here. Whilst I have never seen one live, I have always really liked them and believe they would have been a huge success here. It's a shame they only built them for a short while but who are we to question these decisions?
You are doing an amazing job of rebuilding this one and hopefully the re-paint is up to your standards. Bodywork is one area where you get what you pay for - there aren't any bargains. I look forward to seeing the project completed and I trust that it will provide you with many years of enjoyment driving around South Carolina.
FYI, I have seen fiero in right hand drive, go check your junkyards, several thousand were made and sent to the Aussies. If you look hard enough, they are there.
Look up rhd fiero on here
I was eating Mexican food with Ed Parks (of Fiero Factory) who has done dozens of Caddy 4.9 swaps into Fieros. He once took an order from a guy in Oz. Seems he was trying to have it shipped to a part of your country that does allow left hand. But as that wasn’t his home address, he had to cancel the order.
@@johnrusac6894 The law in Australia exempts LHD cars if they are over 30 years old. As these are in fact over 30 they can be brought here. Actually I think it would be extremely difficult and a touch dangerous to drive on the opposite side. Not so hard in the States where there are more multi lane roads however.
I love your workbenches...a hedge, a bike, an old Frigidaire, a trash can! 😆
I miss my 86 gt wish I had it back that car was awesome
Great detailed video! A little spray paint does wonders for old parts as long as its not rushed like you say. Never been much of a fan of these cars but after watching Ron Finger rebuild his and watching your series i have to say i am starting to like them.
I have been loving this series since the start. I have always had a sweet spot for Fireros. I mentioned before that two of my neighbors growing up had Fieros. Also it's funny how useful the Waste Management trash can is when doing car stuff. I'm like you. I never damage mine either. It's great to set my tool box on or lean a tire next to it etc. LOL
I looked it up, but haven't gone back to watch the episode again. In season 8 episode 7 of Wheeler Dealers they did a DeLorean. Just recall that there was a parts company dedicated to DeLorean cars.
I just seen a 86 or 87 can't remember. Pontiac Fiero 2.8 automatic 80 something thousand miles I was like dangg that's so low for miles and it was same tane interior and but black outside color definitely had been sitting cause there was leaves all over the car and in the engine bay but check the fluids and looked alright and all parts still there butt 2 wheels was missing sadly. Also had a spoiler but wasn't a gt tho . I fell in love with it as soon as I seen it . Just so sad to see it junked like that and now seeing all these videos and people posting and everything of Pontiac Fieros now I've gotten really interested in them so rare to have or find now days in good shape and the inside of the car was perfect too so shocked . If I even bought the car they wouldn't sell it with a title they told me 🙄😞
Rear view mirror tip: silicone is not an adhesive, I recommend getting some window urethane to glue them in. It’ll last and adhere well.
Owned a 93 Bonneville. Those little black caps over the lug nuts were a pain. Probably bought a dozen of them over the years. Back then there was no internet to find replacements, so I gave the stealership hundreds of dollars.
You might try some "Jewellers Rouge" to polish out the scratches on the surface of the mirror.
Great series! Thanks!
Man, seeing you destroy those sail panels and emblems was hard to watch! But great series!
Yes it looks good as long as your clean it and seal it not just spray paint only.
No need to explain yourself, you do those things because you’re fiero of your Fiero
Great stuff, sir! Keep up the good work, the Fiero will have its day in the paint booth soon enough, keep your chin up! As for the mirrors, I would try and find a local glass company and see if they can make you a set, or get some glass polish and polish the old ones? Keep the videos coming! Oh, and congrats on the DMC, looking forward to those videos!
Love me some Fiero’s!
I found my grandparents old 87 Fiero GT locally. Trying to get it back, currently just need to save up. Thanks for the videos on how to restore. What do I need to look for since it’s been sitting for so long?. I’m new to these cars
Keep up the great videos. Fyi red scotch brite pads would work wonders on cleaning the inside of the rims.
Put the new side view mirrors on top of the old mirrors.
try iron x for the rims helps remove more of the brake dust particles
I was waiting for part 8! Great! (sad story the one of the Canadian Fiero, the car is in great shape... I wanted to buy the cradle from that car, my cradle the rust killed it)
Maybe you could get rid of the mirror scratches by polishing it.
Ok, pre liking this because, well, I must!
Personally, I'd remove the body molding, you're gonna get a much better paint job, longevity wise, as you have fewer seams. I just had my 92 miata painted by macco, having stripped the entire car, except for sanding (they did that part), and it's awsome.
Looking good though!
Another well done video. I've enjoyed them. Can I ask you what ratchet you using cause Milwaukee seems to make a few different versions
So you finally got your Ferrari..I’m getting one also👍
Hi Fiero880, how are you doing? I just wanted to say that I enjoy your videos about your fiero I find that your teaching me new things and that I'm learning by watching your videos, P.s. hey what are you doing with my car lol :-D only joking I have the same car with the exact same colour gold with beachwood interior the brown and tan colour cominbation also your car like mine is a 2 tone colour pains grey on the underside and gold on the top same with the inside tan on brown. Please keep up the great videos.
A GM jcar would be cool, aka cavalier, sunbird, skyhawk
That's some serious weight on that drivers rear tire! Are those new, or did they come to you like that?
is there any way I can get ahold of the people with the car in Canada?
Hoovie
What happened to the paint job??????!!!!!!!!!
It goes to paint officially this Friday I will have an updated video in probably a week.
@@fiero880 Sweet - had a gold 1986 SE/V6 that looked very similar - anxious to see how it turns out!
Maybe watch a RUclips video on the PROPER use of jackstands. 🙄
I looked on your channel and couldn’t find any videos ,well except for one. 🤦♂️!!! You weren’t paying attention to what I was doing to the suspension with the bottom of the jack stands, but it’s OK.
