Thanks this is exactly what I was looking for. I used to ride behind boats a lot in my late teens and had entry level tricks down like backrolls and 360s. I'm 35 now and had my first cable park session and damn some of those obstacles look pretty damn beefy! This helped a bunch with understanding why I couldn't stay straight on a 50-50 on a simple ass box. Not gonna be doing backrolls off kickers any time soon ha!
This is awesome. I wakeboard not so very often, and tend to lose confidence when I ride again. This gives me some pointers to get back from where I left. More vids please!
Fantastic tutorial for us beginners. Its really important there is stuff like this on youtube to help people when they first start out, I think sometimes people doing tutorials forget how hard some of this stuff actually felt when they very first learned it years ago! I was bucked pretty hard the first time I rode onto that C rail at CWC a few weeks ago when I was over there so it forced me to learn to ollie onto it which was a great bit of progression for me as a beginner rider, as previously I have been very lazy as the safetys at parks I have ridden at have been a lot gentler than that one. In fact all the safetys at CWC are kind of harsh, even that one with the bricks had me on my butt the first time I went to ride up it and got surprised by how steep it was. (its simon by the way, the bald bloke that was with you on the volcano trip, hope you're still loving life over there, im very jealous you get to stay for so long, 3 weeks for me wasnt enough!)
Very nice tutorial. I was only ones in an park on those easy up boards doing rounds, I am planning to go this year on the cable and over obstacles this will help a lot, thank you very much.
Hey mate, thanks heaps for these very helpful video's could you teach us a bit more on behind the back handle passes. Keep up the good work , we love wakeboarding.🥳😎👍
Yeah, i was waiting for this one, thanks ! So no secret for not being pulled off, it's just getting exactly the right edge every time... Practice practice practice i guess ;-p
yeah the edge is pretty key, if you are falling off the outside, you canpull the rope in and you will come back on, or just trying to get your weight opposite to the side you are falling off
Really helpful man. I'm already in my 3rd month here in CWC and learned to hit 4 obstacles. However, still quite scared to hit the kicker. Looking forward to more tutorials as well as meeting you one day. Cheers!
Been watching forever love your channel, I only ride behind the boat occasionally. Just wondering how fast is the line going in the park where you ride?
JB, can you show us what tricks we should try after we know already how to ollie on to rails and obstacles? I am finally progressing decently...can ollie onto rails out of the pool, and can go up an obstacle reg. footed and ride switch to right foot forward while I 50/50 the obstacle. What tricks should be tried next? Need some good advice from you dawg.
i hit a rainbow box like 2 years ago and landed it and wanna do it again (with out slamming my head into it like i did a while back as well lol) this rlly helped bud thanks!
Hi, JB. Thanx for the video. One question: I want to hop on an obstacle from the side. For example, heelside to boardslide on a tube or slider. Should I ollie on to it with the board being edged or I should make my board flat on the water and then ollie on?
Would have liked more commentary on kickers. Quite often would hit with back foot, then like rebound then go over. Could you do some mistakes videos and what to change
Is there a difference which side of obstacle to take? Say my front foot is left, should I take the kickers to the left of me? (Still learning to ride switch)
for me the most difficult part on every obstacle is understanding the cable/handle timing, I often find myself getting pulled by the cable in the middle of a slide or carving to late to the kicker. as a not so good but ok snowboarder I think my board control is fine but my relation with the cable is terrible.. most of the times my arms are too stretched, I miss timings, I get my arms completely wrecked after 3 or 4 laps in the full size... and all of this is getting in the way of my obstacle progression.
I just started doing this surfing shit and I’m tryna watch this shit so that I could try to get on a rail tomorrow. Ive realized I rewind the video so many fucking times to try to fully understand, I’ve prolly been in the first 2 min for at least 10 min now
I’ve realized it takes long to understand cuz idk how to speak wakeboarder, today while I was at the park some nigga started talking bout a 3 to 1 and the other nigga followed up wit 1 1 3 and I was just confused af
im at this point now. but i have major fear hitting features. i hit a table top and landed it only once but it was pure luck. other times was painful lmao.
Why do safeties exist? They only seem to make stuff way more difficult than it needs to be ! I was wondering if the pro riders prefer having them for some reason :s
@@jboneill really tempted 😱😱 only wakeboarded for 9 seshes (hours) so far but landed a tantrum and trying back 3's. Wanna try everything lol it's not gonna fit in one sesh :/ Gonna be at the waketrack a lot tho this summer
Hey dude reply on Insta please, and also im pretty much a beginner ( have hit the box rainbow and pipe successfully where I ride) but we have a step down rail with a pretty steep entrance and most of the guys recommend entering the rail boardslide instead of 5050 but it seems sketchy to me what do you recommend
This is great! Love the tutorials. Hope more pro riders like you understand that the amateur riders are the ones cheering for them.
thank you! I think most just try and impress each other lol
i guess it is pretty randomly asking but does anyone know a good website to watch new series online ?
@Jakob Caiden Flixportal :)
@Harper Karsyn thanks, I went there and it seems like they got a lot of movies there :D I really appreciate it!!
@Jakob Caiden no problem :)

Yeeee JB! Awesome stuff as always! Damn I wish it was summer already... All the local lakes are frozen over right now. Time to hit the slopes!
Can’t wait for summer!
Thanks mate this was super helpful. I went to Bali wake park last year and I kept getting pulled off the side of the obstacles... so now I know why!
you will get it for sure

you got it bro! cant wait to come back!
Love your videos man. A video idea for you is to have cable riders who don't ride boat often or ever do that.
That would be sick
Great vid mate
Thank you
Been watching forever love your channel, I only ride behind the boat occasionally. Just wondering how fast is the line going in the park where you ride?
Maybe like 20mph
The beginner is usually 16 and the advanced is 20

180s onto rails, 360s out, maybe even scroll through Instagram and find people a similar or slightly higher riding level than you for some inspiration
I will like you to do more videos about tutorials please
will be lots more!
One more month until the new season officially starts here in the Netherlands. Can't wait.
hell yeah!!
Ill try that for sure 🤜🤛
you wont!

Maybe a slight edge, depends on how far the obstacle is from the cable
@@jboneillso,the closer the obstacle, the slighter the edging? And then, Ollie on with the forward leg up?
very good vid! tnx
Thank you!
also congrats on 30k!
Thank you!!
any tips on both how to switch on a tabletop and also how to go from 50/50 to boardslide? Cheers
I can make these in the future :)
Nice JB. Can you please try wakeboarding using a laundry tub! Or a surf board eheh LOL!
Yes!
great tutorial, it is in Cam. Sur wakepark
yesss I love it there!!
any tips on how to hit an obstacle after a backside spin. Like back 180 onto it.
I can do that one for ya
Would have liked more commentary on kickers. Quite often would hit with back foot, then like rebound then go over. Could you do some mistakes videos and what to change
i can try and get that done
You are sick broo
thank you!
The key is to send it
Send ittttt
Do you recommend using one or two hands
Depends, but one will be most comfortable
Cheers mate
Wow!! full pull!

Very nice tutorial! but when I hit the kicker when I'm on air I fall forward. Help please.
Keep handle low
What exactly is a safety bump?
The up ramp at the beginning of obstacles
How to 360 out or spin out of obstacles please!! 🤙🤙🤙
