CORRECTION - This is High Carbon Stainless Steel, Cyclaire knives and tools have told me they made an error on their website
The ones with shields are 1095. The ones with no shield are stainless, likely 440.
That knife is full of false advertisement , it's not India stag if it is it's second cut jigged colored and burned .
Examining my knife it appears that the spine of the blade is thinner than the back spring is. It looks like they wedged a brass washer inside the pivot to make up the difference. Is this characteristic of this knife or have I got myself an oddball?
That is a great looking knife! Love it! An awesome knife to have in your collection. Appreciate you sharing it!
Thanks brother
I'd seen quite a few videos on this knife already, but I think this is the first time I've seen the bone stag version. Looks great, buddy!
It's really nice 🙏🏻
Not gonna lie, I'm loving this knife, imperfections and all!
Fantastic looker, blade shape, steel, bolsters..........
Can't wait for mine to arrive!
Me too Mikey, she's going to be 'tinered up in no time
I’m so pleased to see these traditional made American knives being available over here…. No only that … at a fantastic price too….!!!
I’ve got the rosewood version and I’m very happy with it but the Stag version is calling to me…..😍
Bear & Sons are definitely going to one to watch….!
Fantastic review Slippy..😎👊🏻
Thank you very much Sean! 🔥
I bought this barlow knife a month ago and love it.
Amazing 🤩
I noticed they left the "India" out on the box this time. Not sure if thats a new thing, but a fixed blade I got recently does have it on the box. As I understand the trademark, its the shin bone of a cow, genuinely from India, that has been jigged and dyed to resemble stag.
Appreciate it Mimo 🔥🤩
I'm starting to get into Bear & Son myself. Their jigging is kind of unique and cool. Thanks for sharing!
You bet!
It looks great. Sorry it had cracks though. I guess there is a washer in there> Ken shows how to center it better.
I'll have to check it out! Thank you Randy
Ive always liked Bear & Sons traditional carbon steel knives more than most knives from Case. I bet thats an unpopular opinion.
It all depends, Bear & Sons are more difficult to get here in the UK
Gorgeous knife. I have been seriously considering one
Get one quick
Beautiful bone on that barlow. I've been looking at Bear and Sons recently, too. Kind of interested in the farm hand model. Reminds me of a sodbuster, except with lock and deep carry clip.
Nice out to music, btw.
Thanks brother! I've had the Slipjoint version of that in the aluminium, found it to be a bit on the slippy side, but other than that it was good!
It looks pretty enough, and should do well as a hard use knife I expect. Pity about those imperfections, but the main thing for a hard use knife is that it should be robust. And this one looks like it is quite robust.
Appreciate you brother
Lovely design! I agree with you about liking the abrupt swedges. Personally, I don't really like the look of the jigging on that stag. That's just me though. Thanks for sharing!
It's okay, I've seen better
Gorgeous looking knife. I'm seriously considering buying one
🙏🏻
Sweet looking knife
Thank you
@@SlipjointSawyer you're welcome
After watching this, I might do a comparison video of mine vs my Rosecraft Beaver creek.
Let the games begin!
2 cracked bottom pins. I'd be inclined to think this was dropped or damaged in transit. Very rare to have 2 cracked bottom pins.
😉 🤪
Thanks for watching Martin! I think I was just unlucky with mine, I know a lot of people got outstanding examples! 🤘🏻
I also seem to remember you saying if this was UK legal, you'd get HH to stock it. Cyclaires were already selling it at that point. And selling out fast. They were actually taking preorders. You guys make it very easy to see who's side your on. I remember a more innocent time of knifetubers where we just shown knives because they were good. No hidden agendas.
I'll dedicate my video to you 😘
@@SteelCityKnives I actually picked mine up from Cyclaire, and I pre ordered 🤘🏻, still happy with my purchase despite the small cracks.
No hidden agendas here, I like all knives no matter where and how they were made
Hello!
A pretty good looking knife!
Same about the QC I hope it doesn’t get worse!
Do any the pages have discounts for Cyclaire shop?
And the pocket organiser in your EDC video, not the leather one I think it was nylon.
Do you know if they are still available?
Look forward to your next video!
Not that I know of in regards to discount, but the Viperade ve15 is available on Amazon
Do you like this one better than the new Rosecraft Stag?
For me I prefer the RoseCraft Stag, it's put together to a higher QC, but this one is really nice too!
Fyi, Im pretty thats a stainless steel blade on there. No carbon with those covers. Carbon ones have a shield
Thank you for letting me know, I have spoken to the UK shop that advertised these and I have been informed they made an error in the advert 🙏🏻
FYI, these knives are bone made to look like stag.
Nice knife btw, I have the same one
Appreciate it brother
Im pretty sure UK knife law states the cutting edge of the blade has to be less the 3 inches not the blade itself so the knife should be legal i think.
There abouts yes 🙏🏻
The only problem with this knife is that it's very thick behind the edge. Also on mine the blade itself is not symmetrical so it's thicker on one side then it is on the other. Otherwise it would have been an outstanding knife for the price.
That's a shame
It's NOT stag, it's dyed bone jigged to mimic real stag..still looks great...
Thanks for watching 🙏🏽🙏🏼
Got a bad one. Blade dull and not centered. Fingernail size gaps. Pins stand proud.
Sorry to hear that brother
Nice jigging
Thank you! Cheers!
