I’m sooo glad that EVERYTHING I wanted to happen at the Oscars happened. Everything everywhere all at once for best picture, director, actress, original screenplay, supporting actor, supporting actress, and film editing. Brendan Fraser best actor for the whale. That’s all I was rooting for and thats all I wanted, and it happened that way! I was suuuuuper happy about the Oscars of 2023! Everything everywhere all at once was EASILY my favorite film of 2022, and I loved Brendan Fraser’s performance.
Also, parasite won 4 Oscars not 3. Picture, foreign language film, director, and writer. I think Parasite was awesome, but I prefer everything everywhere all at once.

Great picks…I’m with you on Austin Butler but I think Yeoh might win due to the momentum she has after SAG. But I can’t give EEAAO 3 acting awards (like Network and Streetcar) so I’m going with Angela Bassett. I’ll probably change three times before Sunday but that’s what I’m saying for now. I agree with ALL your tech picks.

Ok I kinda agree with other podcaster/youtubers on this category. Most people feel that they are not going to give three acting adwards just for one picture. "Everything, Everywhere, All at Once" is an outstanding movie for 2022. (In some people's opinion) Also, keep in mind it did not do so stellar at BAFTA's. Saying that, I love Jamie Lee Curtis as well, but you know she is carrying the same narrative as Angela Bassett. A veteran actress etc, etc,. You saying that makes me nervous that Kerry Condon will win, because I feel Jamie Lee Curtis and Angela Bassett will split the votes. Well we will see this Sunday.

The best performance doesn’t always win. JLC is a well liked person and won the SAG award so actors clearly like her performance. And since the actors represent the largest percentage of the academy what they like is a big tell

It doesn’t make sense for me to predict Jamie Lee Curtis and not Michelle Yeoh. If Curtis wins earlier in the evening, that’s a sign that EEAAO is headed for a sweep and Yeoh is very likely to win.
Cate Blanchett was sublime in TAR. However, she is certainly going to get another Oscar-worthy roles, whereas a similar role for an Asian actress is far less likely to come around. Michelle Yeoh is the highest profile Asian actress in the world, yet I've heard how much grief The Daniels went through getting funding even after Michelle Yeoh was onboard. I hope Michelle Yeoh wins Oscar because it could probably be the only chance she will ever get.

I think Angela Bassett will be like Sylvester Stallone and Kerry Condon will be like Mark Rylance. Not to mention Kerry Condon might be the only win for Banshees. Kerry Condon might be an unknown figure, but so was Olivia Colman at the time and she still won an Oscar over an overdue veteran. That was before The Crown was released on Netflix.

I’m still doubtful that JLC will win considering it’s rare to win an Oscar by just winning SAG as a precursor. It only happened 4 times. I think the last time that happened was Morgan Freeman’s win for Million Dollar Baby. Also, another reason I’m doubtful for JLC’s win is because it’s a comedic performance. The Academy doesn’t usually award comedic performances. Kerry Condon is more of a performance the Academy would like to award because it’s a dramatic performance. Sure, Yuh Jung Youn in Minari is a comedic performance, but it has a combination of comedy and drama in that performance. While JLC is the FBI agent is like the film’s comic relief character.
I really hope the sound/editing stat will break this year. Everything Everywhere All At Once needs to win the Oscar for film editing because it’s the best editing from last year as well as the decade so far. If it loses the editing Oscar, it will be one of the biggest snubs in the category alongside Citizen Kane, The Godfather, Casablanca, Psycho and Vertigo.
I think that Angela Bassett could win the Oscar for Best Supporting actress and I also think that Michelle Yeoh is winning the Oscar for best actress. Jamie Lee Curtis winning the Sag was just a Sag thing. Best supporting actress category is definitely a coin toss
JLC winning SAG could just be a SAG thing but in such a competitive year I think that her being in the most liked movie will help push her over the finish line
Yes I noticed that when I was editing the video, however it won 3 competitive Oscars since the international feature category wasn’t even really a competition. And the point still holds that no BP winner won more than 4 awards in over 10 years so if Everything Everywhere All At Once does as well as some people think it will be a historic night
