This country doesn’t value public education and it shows by lack of investment in teachers. You literally get what you pay for.

Very not only do we have to buy extra manipulatives, supplies cuz parents dint buy or be tracking what their child needs at home n also more keeps added to the class requiring more from teachers n students n they all just numbers so sad

And they say we don’t work full time…. If we were clocked in during grading papers at home, that 60 hour unpaid training we all did, the professional development. We work MORE than most full time workers. They have no idea.

My wife just left her teaching job at the end of last year. It’s as if the better you are at your job, the reward is the worst students. That tied with the dangers of school shootings, and parents who think teachers are supposed to raise their children, just doesn’t add up

The great tragedy is that the USA is going through a 12-year labor shortage. The current projected figures are at 900,000 and teacher vacancies will increase by 65,000 over the next 10 years. Teachers are in a profession without an economic safety net: the average teacher loses their benefits and pays in the 15th year (2) only 5 % of teachers receive a retirement pension; (3) teachers' salaries have stagnated for the last 20 years; (4) teachers cannot build legacy wealth by passing on wealth through housing; (5) Teachers turnover guarantee a broken educational system.

Texas has a Republican teaching problem. Texas charges the highest real estate taxes in the country. These tax are use to build some of the nicest school buildings in the state. But they then turn around and pay teachers poverty wages.
    (Republican = privatization)
Privatization has cost Texans more of their hard earned money for the past 30 years.
Definition of privatization = cost plus massive profits. Which gives you higher taxes and less service. The 1% have taken republicans too far. I would suggest we expel republicans return our state back to the public option where we pay what it actually cost without any profit. The will get you cheaper utility’s cheaper building cost. Mainly we get rid of the Republican right to work for less in Texas. A teachers salary should start at 75,000 a year. This would bring them only back even as in 1994 wages. Privatization is killing America.
You can only bleed a turnip so long. Texas has arrive at the point of the dry turnip.
Change Texas at the polls. We do not have to accept this crap anymore. Communism’s is bad, crony capitalism is also bad.
