    Not a gimmick for sure. I have mine managing close to 8000m2 during winter here in New Zealand where my Kubota ride on can no longer be used due to the ground getting too soft. We have kikuyu grass and in the past I have had to leave it to grow out of control until the ground dries in summer, but by then, the kikuyu has grown to 8” which then becomes a major task to get back down to 1”. It normally takes me the whole of summer to do this due to excessive clippings. My Luba 1 is now keeping the entire property down to around 1.5” even when the ground has standing water!!. I do adjust the zone boundaries to avoid really wet and permanently muddy areas. Highly recommend this machine for large Kikuyu lawns.

      That's awesome I'm thinking of getting one from Robomate. Any issues at all? My only worries are getting parts and service as they're not in the south island yet.

    This is a fun technology :)
    note: Now, If I can install a small seat with a seat belt and a fake steering wheel......
    and teach "Ramblin Bobcat" to sit on top of this little fella in that seat and stay still while the
    robot cuts the lawn.
    P.S. The neighbors would really be impressed !!!!!
    P.P.S. LOL

    This is an impressive time saving device, and in my previous property with 2 acres around the house, I felt chained to the place in cutting season. Also when the grass gets long and you are away it is a calling card for burglary.

      Yeah, it does surprisingly well. I may torture it a bit harder and do a follow-up video at the end of the summer. :P

    Question.. Can you set different mow heights for different zones in a schedule.. Ie can zone 1 be at 3cm and zone 2 at 5cm and will it remember that in a schedule or task?

    • @ReeWrayOutdoors
      @ReeWrayOutdoors  3 месяца назад

      Yes, cutting height selection is included in the task definitions. :)

    My Shark reminds me of a child when it gets stuck. You get it unstuck and then it tries to get back to where it was stuck again and again.

  • @speedshed

    Why would you have went for the 10000 model if the 5000 one covers the size of your yard? What other features does the top spec one offer? My yard in total is 2 acres but I’ve my house and hard standing areas to deduct from that so I’ve still to work out which model would suit my use case.

    • @ReeWrayOutdoors
      @ReeWrayOutdoors  16 дней назад

      Well, the 5000 actually only covers my front yard area, whereas the 10000 would do nearly the entire property. But I don't think the 10000 has any additional capability other than larger mappable area.

    Thanks for making this great video, looking forward to an update after a season of use.
    I’ve been waiting to purchase until a solar option for the RTK, and after seeing the one you have I’m ready to order. But, when I go to the website I don’t see it as an option to purchase. Where did you go to obtain this solar option? Thanks!

    How do you think it would work with properties that have slopes in the front yard?

    • @ReeWrayOutdoors
      @ReeWrayOutdoors  6 месяцев назад +1

      I would expect this to easily handle even pretty substantial slopes

    • @DannyOLearyMusic
      @DannyOLearyMusic 6 месяцев назад +1

      It’s all wheel drive so it handles like a 70 or 80% slope. You’ll find other vids on here showing that. Probably the best mower for slopes as most are only 2 drive wheels and a castor front wheel

    I have a Luba 1 which is excellent. The Luba 2 is also available as a 10000m2 version. Physically, it seems the same as the 5000. Is the difference just the battery? I need 4 of them.

    • @DannyOLearyMusic
      @DannyOLearyMusic 6 месяцев назад

      Not sure on if the battery is the same, but I know for some robot mowers (I think I’m referring to Luba models…I forget as I’ve watched so many videos!) the batteries are the same and it’s just that the models are software limited to the 5000m2 or whatever cutting size mower you purchased so potentially a software limit rather than battery!

    every time i see people on youtube with the luba 2 garage, i automatically know it's sponsored by mammotion. how do i know? the garage is still on preorder and won't let regular customers buy it yet. not that it's bad or anything, i got the luba 2 and it's been wonderfully life-changing. i'm just bitter that i can't buy the garage kit.

    is the larger area mower just a software limitation? if so, really dirty. if its the exact same mower and they are just limiting you with the software...

    • @charleswheatcroft
      @charleswheatcroft 6 месяцев назад

      The smallest version has a smaller battery.
      There is speculation that there is more memory on the middle and largest versions but it is more likely to be a software limitation as you suspect.
      I'm not sure how I feel about software limitation. If it were an app, you can have free/basic/premium versions at different price points with a code to unlock more features so it's not dissimilar.
      Also, the warranty claims would probably be higher for the versions that are subject to a higher workload so there is some logic. It's a fairly new company and the customer service reports have been pretty patchy - by all accounts they are slow to respond due to rapid growth. Hopefully this will change.

    • @conradcoolerfiend
      @conradcoolerfiend 6 месяцев назад

      @@charleswheatcroftthe big difference to me is that with an app for example, software is the whole product. With this thing, the majority of what your buying is the hardware. I wouldn’t cry about it if the bigger one was a nominal up charge, maybe $200, and you can upgrade after purchase. But they want thousands. you know this pricing is BS! I wouldnt buy from this company based on that alone. Ill wait for the tech and competition and pricing to get better, maybe software cracking etc.

    • @charleswheatcroft
      @charleswheatcroft 6 месяцев назад

      @@conradcoolerfiend The upgrade path makes sense. The company does listen to it's customers but the software is 2 steps forward one step back at the moment. The progress is positive though.

      I've actually got my eye on that right now. Looks like it has the potential to be a better solution for larger properties over 2 acres. But in the meantime, the Luba 2 is serving me quite well in the front yard. :)

      While it is true that Mammotion sent me the Luba 2 mower to review (which is why I check the box to indicate that I "received anything of value" when uploading the video), I was not paid to do this review and my comments 100% accurately reflect my actual experience with this product. If I feel that I cannot honestly represent my experiences with a product that I review, I scrap the project and refuse to post. Full stop. I've done this many times...which is why there are regularly large gaps in my posting schedule. I realize that trust is my 'brand', and so I take great care to ensure I never violate that trust. But obviously you're free to draw your own conclusions.
