No negative comments from me! Thank you for this video and helps see the full picture on this rebuild. I have a 1949 like you and had the same hard life but engine runs well! Probably a winter project to get steering up to par like yours! I hit the Subscribe button!
Well thank you for the kind words brother! I hope it helps you, it definitely made a huge difference onnthis old girl! If you get a chance checknout the newest video I did taking her out for a spin!
@@bourbonbeertractorsandprep9335 Always helps to see it done, much better than a diagram, for me at least. Busy diving 'er now though and the play is still not much!
I wonder if you took the worm gear to a bearing place. The one in my area is called Previs bearings if they could measure it and match to one of there gears. Great job.
That right there is 90W gear oil and grease mixed together. Bet that smelled awesome. Makes investing in a parts cleaner seem like a much more reasonable idea.
Good video,on mine the steering wheel just spins around without turning the wheels, would that most likely be the shear pin on the gear. And will I have to remove the front axle, will that be necessary? Thanx for any I nfo
Unfortunately it sounds lile the keyway onnthe sector shaft probably broke. Yeah you'll have to pull the bolster apart to fix it. My other videos showed how I repaired it.
Thanks for the video I'm trying to learn everything I can before doing this work to my international 140 Thanks again
Your very welcome! Let me know if I can help answer anything to help you out.

Its possible. All in all it wasn't hard to tighten up the steering in the old girl. She drives beautifully now!
Thanks for the video I've got a 140 that the same way.
Absolutely! My steering now is absolutely perfect now! Let me know if you have any questions.
Thats Corn Head grease in there, it's used when the bolster is leaking. It's nasty stuff to clean up!!
Yessir!

Yeah it was a beautiful sticky mixture lol She steers and drives beautifully now!!

Have you ever took any gears to a bearing place and ask them if they could match them with new gears?
I've heard of people putting grease in the steering box because the seals were leaky and were tough to replace so just pack it with grease.
Yeah I think this was a combo of anything left in the barn oil and grease lol
What did you replace that black junk with after rebuild.
After all new seals I just run 90w gear oil now. It doesn't leak anymore and steers beautifully!
You seem to filming down to an art, now you might think about working on editing. Thanks
This was when I first started my channel
