At the end of the day you can fly very well with either system. To me there is a whole range of things to consider, which would include ergonomics, community support and who you feel will be in the game for the long run for starters. Those are all personal opinions and no reviewer can answer that for you.
This is a good point that was missed. Not only is DJI slow at updating or releasing features…if you like WTFOS you can certainly guarantee if DJI does release any feature worth updating for you’ll be presented with the choice of adding that feature or keeping WTFOS/root access.
Also a returning/experienced pilot. Also getting new gear. Just ordered the stand alone walksnail vrx combo with the micro camera. Now waiting on the HDZero goggles to drop. Have some 5inch quads but really wanna whoop it up this winter and building an indoor track in my warehouse.
I should add that when I sold my goggles, I kept the Fusion vrx module. So will be getting the analog module add on, so I can fly my older quads. Most of which still have the JB F4 FC. Should I even worry about upgrading to modern FC standards? Will probably buy a pre-built with walksnail at some point and decide then...
Just put on the walk snail goggles and they fit and feel so good! Image looked good too! I have the DJI goggles and they fit horrible and I can’t breathe out of my nose while wearing them. I can’t stand wearing them but obviously the video quality is great. But I think I’m sold on walk snail from my experience yesterday. It’s amazing that someone could make a goggles that ACTUALLY FIT right out of the box 😂 And I have a feeling they will keep improving and it’s only going ti get better. For my freestyle set ups I’m ready to switch to Walk Snail.
Walksnail…. I have DJI since day 1, fantastic video but no support. I fly inav and need a full osd. Also the goggles don’t fit my head. Lack of support is same reason my R9 stuff is all running elrs now.
No audio, no fun, thats why i still love analog, and currently my dji V1 gogles (i have airunit). But Walksnail/Fatshark has the most comfortable goggles, perfect for me.
I have both systems. I really like the video out as a built-in feature of the Walksnail. You can debate the 3rd party video out for DJI, but it has been pretty unreliable for me. The lag may start around 1 second at first, but then 5 minutes later it's around a 3 second delay. I haven't noticed any increase in input lag (with the tiny bit there is) with 15 minutes of video out with my Walksnail. It just depends on what features are important to you. If you have no need for video out, it's hard to suggest Walksnail over DJI with all the points made in this video. Hoping DJI will have a built-in video out with the new Air Unit. Not placing any bets in favor, though.
When your flagship product is being compared to a product released 3 years ago,..... This is like comparison videos of Analog and HDZero. If that's your comparison, you've already lost. For me, the only thing HDZero, and now Walksnail, have going is the 1s board. But I'm not willing to give up image quality for it when I can build 2s whoops just fine.
DJI Quality 100% right! Crashed my Kwad 48h into a sea. After findig and drying it for 1 Day the complet Caddx Vista with DJI Camera work perfectly fine. Befor i powerd it up i removed the heatsinks to check for water, but it is completely filled with thermal paste. So no water inside!
If you want to fly 3" or smaler walksnail because the O3 IS to heavy for that And walksnail Avatar pro ist Tage best digital fpv camera for flying in low light
I have a unique issue. I have four quads, all with vista units. I am using the goggle DVR, I do not use the 'auto record on arm' setting Auto temp control is ON With my first three quads, I would manually hit record after arming. Once disarmed the recording would stop. With my most recent (babyhawk II) the recording does not stop once disarmed. This led to me unplugging while recording, resulting in a corrupt recording file (user error). I tested the 'auto record on arm' setting, and it does properly start/stop recording on arm/disarm. Just not in manual mode. Thanks in advance - from canaDuh - alex
Does he really need to ask the answer is obvious lol.. he wants to tell you pick dji because it's better today. But doesn't want to risk telling you there's that possibility the walk snail might very well be on par if not better then dji.

Just another point for Walksnail: full Betaflight OSD without rooting or anything like that. It just works, out of the box.

Walksnail plays nice with betaflight, inav, and arduplane. Solid point, MC.
How do you always have the perfect video for what I'm asking? Thank you for all you've done for this hobby and everyone in it.
because you aren't special, you're just like everyone else thinking with their primal brain

About the learning curve: that's how I felt the first time I flew! 😂

I bought the walknail system last night. The 1s
Little bit of both. Variety is the spice of life. 🤘
Walksnail is the future of digital FPV.
I just got my 5 inch Long range walksnail system
Agreed I'm tired of dji telling me I can't fly 😪
@@Kasnokas00was it difficult?
@@X862goyes, always problems lol
i chose Walksnail because of its 1s mini vtx for my micros as i only fly micros! It is all depends on your quad fleet...

Wait for the release of the O3 Airunit. Decide then. It is probably just a few weeks.
That's kinda where I'm at with it.

Using Cosmostreamer with DJI Goggles2 and Avata, a stable low latency on HDMI. But sure, native HDMI out is better.

Wish the FPV learning curve kept going up, i mean i guess it does depending on how deep you go into RF theory, photography and pid tuning haha

Love DJI. You don't need an additional RX if you use their controller.

I’d like to see an update on this
What do you think a year later?
As a returning pilot. Still am gonna wait for hd zero 🤣
dji O3 will be released soon, after that and a couple of tests. We will debate
Isn't the FOV of the Walksnail system (much) less than the DJI system?
Perhaps but the dji fov is actually too large for most people and some actually lower it
then add head tracking, its immersive
@@elxero2189 thanks for answering!
Fpv learning curve should be separate video clip 😜
You guys can still return Your walksnail goggles or vrx back to China
Yeah - I flew that 75mm Meteor with Avatar today (your video swayed me) and I loved it. No more analog for me indoors. DJI is too heavy indoors.

Dji!!!!!
if only its possible to bind the dji vista and the walksnail avata then everything would be so much better in fpv.
DJi all day
