    It's great to see a positive review on the Walksnail system 👍. I use the 1s series of vtx's as they are lightweight and are fantastic for micros and whoops. No other system does a lightweight 1S VTXs that has excellent quality HD and on board recordings, that is the main reason I am into the Walksnail system.
    BTW: Give the Walksnail 1S vtx and mini camera a go, it’s a huge cost saving, I find the mini camera adjusts itself quicker and better with light changes, and the big plus strips a far amount of weight out of your drone, with very little difference in penetration and range compared to the full size Walksnail Pro camera and VTX.

      This is exactly why I use Walksnail. If they didn't have a lightweight system that supported 1S, I would have gone DJI.

    Great review! You're spot on about it being silly to compare Caddx - a small incumbent company in the FPV market, with DJI - a massive multi-billion dollar company who are the leaders in the digital FPV space. When you put things in to perspective, it's incredible what Caddx has achieved so far.

    Head trackers are for pilots who fly fixed wing aircraft. Analog module is mostly for racers and long range pilots. If they only fixate on having the goggles work for one subset of FPV, they'd be losing potential customers and sales. While I agree, image quality and penatration improvements are always welcome, they still need to sell as many goggles as possible

      Exactly. For example, I wish they would mainly work on a functional HeadTracker.

    I was seriously considering the HDZero goggles, but I'm glad I watched this video, as I'm now having (serious) second thoughts. I appreciate the honest, hands-on, real-world review.
    Thank you.

    Great user review, this is something sorely missing in the FPV community. Often people feel like they have to rely only on the 'top reviewers' when what's even better is to find out how people are using these things and in what situations that are most like we will be. I fly a mix of pretty much everything and find ways one is better than the other. Like the other evening I went to fly my A2 and found that as the light gets low...it get really really bad, my walksnail v1 even outperformed it in low light situations.

    Great review! I still have the VRX but heavely modded. Pretty happy that I didnt jump on the beta testing of these goggles. Maybe ill buy them in the future. Btw. What I learned from Thomas Mcrullen (or something was his name on FB) he tested and said that if you use patches, use them on all. Just like stubbies, use them on all connectors. Why? Because what you are doing now makes no sense. The top right antenna is transmitting and asking lost packages back if you fly behind objects or fly far away. But as you might guess; if that antenna is an omni, your patch antennas wont get you more range because if the omni's lose signal, the patches cant recover the lost data because they only receive.

    • @leonardo9429
      @leonardo9429 Месяц назад

      But in this case, the patches would still receive better and allow a better signal even if it can't ask for the lost frames, because the lost ones would be less

    Since connection is 100% dependent on TX/RX antena, you can only tell diffenernce when using patch antena if its mounted to the top connectors. That top left antena is TX/rx so it that one is out of range, even the best directional antena won't help.

    • @elxero2189
      @elxero2189 Месяц назад

      Can't put a patch on-that, as it's directional. Flying behind you will give terrible results

    I can't afford any of the digital goggles but I do have a Caddx Walnut and it's fantastic quality for the price. With Gyroflow support it is all an amateur like myself requires.

    I have the fatshark dominator HDs and I liked it, they were fine and dandy but had put them away for almost a year, just in my bag, only to turn them on and find out that the left eye is messed up now. like a bad video signal or something. I contacted fatshark and am waiting a response from the repair center. It's been a couple weeks and still waiting, I hope it's soon cause I am tired of flying with my left eye closed. haha. I really enjoy this system I'd buy more pairs of goggles if I need to. I am never going back to analog.

    I agree with what you have to say when the goggles work.
    There is no denying there is some QC issues over at Caddx be it as large or as small as some of the community wants to make It seem.
    I've had to send a set of goggles back to receive a set that needed a new motherboard which thankfully Caddx provided me.
    That same set then out of the blue had the buttons stop working so I took it apart and just disconnected and reconnected the button board and that seemed to fix that issue.
    At times the goggles work great and at other times the OSD freezes even without having my radio close to the goggles.
    For me I simply can't trust the goggles as a daily. I purchased the V1's after the Goggles X just because of all the issues I have had with them.
    All this being said I do not deny there are many that are perfectly happy and not having issues with there goggles and I wish I was one of them because when they work they are my favourite goggle.

    Ref not seeing the edges is just a pure design flaw. It means your OSD has to be moved inward. They need to allow a larger optic FOV in the initial lens view port. Frustrating.

    I have DJI v2 and G2 your goggles have the same problem as G2 but V2 are the best hands down. Im still on the Vista and OG AU. Walksnail seems great but after a year it'll be up there with DJI.

    Dude its nice to know that the same issues that i have been having with the goggles are not just exclusive to me. But its as you have said the issues are really minor. An issue I have now is with the HDMI in as I was using the Goggles for Sim work. with the latest beta they don't want to work with my computer any more. So unless that is fixed the goggles are benched till i can get the gofilm fixed (waiting for parts, BNF really isn't BNF with no experience). Still hoping to fly. Keep up the good work. I hope Walksnail continues to improve. Curious do you have any experience with a base station as I live in a country with concrete wall housing and penetration for real estate is tough. If so any suggestions?

      @@kkazakov But the top right is the only really important one (top left on the first version, not Googles X) - surely there has to be a patch on this one ? Top right is Tx/Rx & all the rest are only Rx
