Libby Hall, interviews members from the band, "Babes in Toyland" from Pasadena City College radio studio (www.lancerradio.org). Looks like a reunion is in the works!
Glad to find this. Wish the reunion would've lasted... and more than anything, hope Kat is doing well and that we will hear from her more. She's the best
Hi, thank you for your comment. I too wish things could have turned out differently but that was not to be. I tried very hard to stay in touch with Kat but unfortunately, that didn't happen. However, I am still in touch with Maureen, the bassist. I never had the pleasure of meeting the drummer (who was not able to make this interview). Be well and thank you.
This is the best music news in years! Kat and company are one of the most important (and underrated) band of the 90's. I think Kat Bjelland and Kurt Cobain were both the most talented and inspirational figures of that whole genre. It's good to see her come back and take back her throne.
I just love Babes In Toyland and they are superb awesome ladies like one big happy family. I really do think that this band is very unrated and is saddens me in this respect but this group of ladies will always have a place in my heart as they are sweet, sexy, gorgeous and they are great artistes (y)
She is pretty awesome! She stayed with me for a couple of months and she is so clear-headed and focused. I am so blessed to have had that time with her. She's a great friend. Thanks for the compliment. I will be printing the responses and giving them to her when she comes back in a few weeks for business.
Back in 2014-2015. They just had a documentary a couple of years ago called Pretend that we're dead that came out in 2016 and they are recording a new album as we speak. They even released 2 new songs this past couple of years. Dispatch at mar la go and i came back to bitch. It will be the 1st L7 album in 20 years and the 1st album in 25 years to feature the smell the magic/Bricks are heavy/hungry for stink lineup of the band which is the lineup today. I cant wait! 2019 is going to be an amazing year for music!
I will donate a kidney if I need to just to go see them play! I want a show at The Whisky Hollywood! been listening to them since 1993 and never gets old!
Kat is 51 looking like 38. I'm 38 looking 51, I sooooo hope this reunishing thing is for real. I just ordered a Babes In Toyland t-shirt. Yesterday I was bitching about my job in my folks car, at one point I said : But the GOOD news is, probably maybe, Babes in toyland are reuniting. My dad said : Wasn't she the girl with a lot of anger in her voice ? ( sorry for the bad writing, my first language is french ! )
So very excited! I know I commented before… but do you know if they'll be touring? I would love to see them live! I just moved from Philly to Ithaca, NY… I know there's not much around here (which is kind of a bummer) but I would love to see them somewhere in Upstate NY if possible :) (if not, somewhere in Philly works too!)
Wow, hello Upstate. I'm from Binghamton, howdy! I don't know any more than the fact that they are in rehearsals right now. I will keep you all posted! Thanks for the comment!
Hi Amber Cowan! Awesome! It's always nice to meet another riot grrrl :) What brings you to Ithaca? And yes! Me too! Fingers crossed they play somewhere close!
I saw Babes at the TLA on South Street which was amazing. I'm sure when they come around (hopefully soon) they will play there again. Unfortunately they seem to haven't really played anywhere in the upstate ny area. It seems as though NYC and Philly is about the same distance (4 hours and change) from Ithaca so its a haul but worth it to see Babes reunited!
Thank you so much for uploading this, I hope you keep us reported about their comeback cause I don't know where else I can notice about it. They should create a twitter page or something though...
I will do my best Alex. As a matter of fact I've tried to connect with her in MN and I am waiting for her response. I'm trying to get info for her return to Cali for rehearsals. I'll keep you all posted! Thanks for the interest

I was wondering about that too. Was she ill? Kat's great and I mean no disrespect but she looks dreadful in recent videos of live performances. Hopefully she is okay.
Yes, well, its unfortunate. I haven't heard from Kat since this interview. I had high hopes for my friend. However, I can't tell you what direction she's going in now. I hope and pray she's alright as well. I do, however, stay in touch with Maureen Herman (bassist) since she's left the group and she's doing quite well.
LOL. I haven't had an opportunity to meet the new addition. I wasn't even sure my girl was still rockin'. Believe me no one can take the place of Maureen Herman! I do wish Kat well.
I saw them back in the mid 90s ('94 or '95 maybe) and got hooked on them. Holy shit...time fucking passed! One of the greatest bands I ever had the opportunity to see live, along with Nirvana, Mudhoney and few others.
Glad to find this. Wish the reunion would've lasted... and more than anything, hope Kat is doing well and that we will hear from her more. She's the best

Last I heard from her friend she said she's doing fine and just living a private life
It was recently released that she has stage 4 liver failure. This news is heartbreaking. I’m at a loss. We all are all.
@@yorkandpomona Pardon my delay...but I'm speechless really. I'm just doing a little research on my own first. Thank you for the information.
A verrrrrry HAPPY BIRTHDAYYYYYY Kat Bjelland! You are loved and you are awesome! Enjoy this date! Much love from me to you!

Thanks for that awesome compliment David. I will be speaking to Kat in a few weeks. Presently the band is in rehearsal mode.

@@MsLibr8r When did she stay with you? Just curious when she was clear-headed..
really great work on the mic--you should be on NPR. very positive vibes.
You are a dear! Thank you so very much for your kind words.
This makes me convulse with joy!
Cool to see. Now if we can only get the mighty L7 back together.
Your wish was granted!
@@Anthonybchannel Wait...L7 got back together!? When?
Jeez, what kind of fan am I?!

I wonder what Kat is up to these days. New music from her would give me life!
@@Anthonybchannel No shit, Sherlock.
She's dying. She's in stage 4 of liver failure and they're not sure if they can get a transplant. Her sister posted a thing about it on Facebook.
@@juliusebola9389 Yes, I am aware.
Is she on the mend now?
@@tt-du6vc supposedly Courtney has put her up somewhere to be takin care of
Yes!! The world desperately needs some women that rock right now!
Check out those 2 new rock bands that have women in it,Thunderpussy and Starbenders.
Nice!!! I'm really excited with this! One of the best bands of 90's is back! wooow!
Hey ladies come to Brasil and Rock on for us! :)

YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

Courtney made Kat hold Kurt's hand at the funeral home.
Yeah bc a grown ass woman can force another grown ass woman to hold a corpses hand 😂🤦🏻♀️
It terrifies me how scary Kat looks now compared to flush & 'healthy' here, not even 2 years ago

Maureen is selling her clothes on RUclips now. I don't know how good she's doing. Kat is MIA.
@@ccgrey8731 Kat was hospitalized in 2007 because she has Schizoaffective Disorder, Dissociative Identity Disorder, alcohol and heroin addiction.
Who is that sulky looking girl looking into the room?
LOL! She's board op'ing my show. We're at the campus studio and we take turns doing board operating each other's show. That's funny "sulky"!
Sorry I didn't mean to be offensive to her. She just looked very bored or uninterested but maybe that was just my perception .
reece witherspoon on lead vocals.........cool
