first question is b, 3.04.
To find the percentage decrease, we calculate:
Decrease percentage = 24%
Decrease decimal = 0.24 (24% converted to decimal)
To find the new price after a percentage decrease:
New Price = Original Price x (1 - Decrease Decimal)
New Price = $4.00 x (1 - 0.24)
New Price = $4.00 x 0.76
New Price = $3.04
Great video! thx.
Thank you bro

i dont understand the minus 1
@@lifeasterrika4431me neither, I got ACT tomorrow and I don’t understand any of this math 🫠
@@lifeasterrika4431I figured it out.
If it’s increase then you add 1 to the decimal version of the percentage.
If it’s decrease, you do the opposite, so subtract.
Then you multiply the result by the original price.
So for example if you had an original price of $5 and you had to figure out how much it is after you take the price down by 20%, then here’s what you would do.
First, take 1 and subtract the decimal version of 20 from it, (just the number behind a decimal) so 1-0.20
which would get you 0.80
Then multiply the original price, 5, by that.
So 5 times .80
Your result will be 4.
I recommend you practice this skill and I hope my comment helped!!
At 2:57, for the log question you can just plug it into your TI-84 calculator by pressing the "math" button, scrolling down to where it says "logBASE (", and plugging it in.

could you post a video for reading section
After watching A LOT of SAT prep videos, the go-to calculator is the TI36 XPro. No question about it.
I’ve taken the act and sat multiple times each!! I can’t afford fancy graphing calculators but I highly recommend the Casio fx300es plus for a cheaper alternative :)
@@nightvisiongoggles5929 The fx300es has CAS capability, right? I believe that I read it does. If I’m right, it’s better than the TI-84 in that regard.
A quicker way to solve the question (49):
if you rearrange the binomials you will see that it's in fact the difference between two squares
(-6i+6)(6i+6) -> (6-6i)(6+6i)
"the difference between two squares: a² - b² = (a-b)(a+b)"
so (6)² - (-6i)² which is 36 - 36i² (i² = -1) so simplified it's 36+36 = 72
It will save about 4~6 seconds, but it's the act and every second matters.
Oh god these were all so easy but my vrain is sooooo used to doing a shit ton of algebra that i couldnt do these 💀 hopefully this Saturday my score can go up
Are there plenty of geometry and algebra because I suck at those?
@@milandeloach9081 geometry seems to be too much on the sat and act tests, I recommend going over it as well as algebra. I did okay on that section but I honestly am not that good at geometry lol, I believe in you tho and you can totally do this ╰(*´︶`*)╯
for the rectangular prism why did you divide by 4? how did you know to do that?
The question asked for 1/4 of the volume
The question asked for 1/4 of the volume which means there are 4 parts and it's asking how much is one
So if it said 1/5 would I just divide by 5?
@@sour_milk48correct! :D
I'm taking the ACT in four days and trying to study as much as I can, wish me luck y'all.
good luck y'all
thank you!
Calm down I feel like in a marathon cos of your speedy way . Just call down a little bit I can't breathe😅
Very helpful video thx 🙏🏻 ❤
This is a very helpful video!
Thank you!
1:09 do you always divide it by four for equations like this or did you only divide it by four bc it asks for 1/4 of the volume? (So if it were to be like 1/7 i would divide by seven?) (And what would i do if i had a number like 2/3?)
this was bc it's 1/4 of the volume! you'd divide by 7 in that case, yes. if the question asked for 2/3 of the volume, you would just multiply the volume by 2/3, which is the same as multiplying by 2 and dividing by 3
if you take a fraction/percentage/decimal "of" something, that "of" just means multiplication
(Soh)oh is for opposite hypotenuse/ (Cah) ah adjacent hypotenuse/ (Toa) opposite adjacent
Thank you 😁
Great list!
Anothre tip, the derivative of the area of a circle equals the circumference.
the area is a constant so taking the derivative of it would be equal to zero
how does dividing 244 by 4 mean that the 244th digit will be 7?
When you divide 244 by 4, you get 61 with no remainder. It means that you hit the 4th digit, which is 7. In the given problem, the number repeats every 4 digits
1497 1497 1497 etc
The 4th, 8th, 12th digits are all divisible by 4 with no remainder. You get 7. If you continue until the 244th digit, you also get 7.
In other words, just look for the remainder after dividing by 4.
245/4 = 61, remainder 1. The answer is the first digit 1.
246/4 = 61, remainder 2. The answer is the second digit 4.
248/4 = 62, no remainder. The answer is the fourth digit 7.
we can help students to get the act 33+
For 49, It might be faster to treat (-6i +6) as -(6i-6) so that you can do a difference of squares and simply turn the end result negative. -(6i-6)(6i+6) = -(36i^2 -36) = 72
For question 43 can someone tell me what kind of math this is? I need to look up videos for it in more detail
Geometry! Specifically with angle equations. If you look up “soh cah toa” explanation you should be able to find a video more in depth. Trig covers this a bit too but on a higher level. Hope this helps 🙌
Number 43 says to give the distance in miles, but only provides meters and no conversion factor.
A kilometer is 1000 meters, and a mile is 1.61 kilometers, so times by 1000, then divide by 1.61 to get miles.

Guys, whats the answer to the Log question? I cant do the log thing on my TI-30xa calculator so idk how to do it
4 sorry for late reply baby
What? In the equivalent Greek ACTs, we had to prove the entire calculus 1 from limits to derivatives up to integration! It took me 5 years of engineering to master those mathematics and still I can not even score an 80% on Greek's highschool ACTs. My country's ministers of education are assholeees! The equivalent MIT of Greece (Aristotle University Of Thessaloniki Electrical And Computer Engineering) is ranked 400 compared to other great universities. They try to drown us with knowledge before we are ready and still suck in competition with others. imagine just that.

For each case, you should make an estimate. This takes several seconds and gets the correct answer very fast. I was able to answer every question correctly without any calculator in a few seconds.
ik why he did them so fast its cuz he was running out of batter lol. No hate tho all love much appreciate these vids
Why do u divide by 4
this wasn’t bad at all i think i’ll be okay
i dont understand #43 would anyone be so kind to explain it to me?😭 i take the act tmr so if anyone could explain it asap i’d greatly appreciate ittt
It’s a trig question, look at the given angle (not the right angle) in this case 41. Look for what the question asks for. Use any values already given to know which one to use (sin cos tan). The side touching the given angle is adjacent. The problem asks for car to house distance (not given so use x) which is opposite angle, so you know to use tan. You would set it up like Tan(given angle) = opposit/adjacent The calculator should do the rest for you. if x ends up on same side as sin cos or tan put it over 1 and cross mulitply like any equation. If your actual problem doesn’t give an angle just use the inverse. Sorry it’s long, hopefully this helps, good luck!!
Also if a problem wants an actual value, don’t forget to check that your calculator is in degrees not radians for trig!
@@clique-bait ohh that makes much more sense, thank you!
For number 5 6 does not factor into 45 or 81
Too fast
The first question gives me 3.76 why?
thats incorrect. i set mine up as a proportion and did x/4= 24/100 and solved for x. then, subtract that number from 4 to get 3.04
4x.24 is 0.96 then you would do 4.00-0.96 to get 3.04
Isnt 2 A???
No because remember, the “price decreased” Therefore you have to subtract 0.96 from $4.00= giving you $3.04.
@@scar.9406 How do you know to subtract 0.96 from 4?
@@alexamarkovich2232 24% = .24 (think 24/100).
Multiply .24 and 4 to get 0.96.
This means 0.96 is 24% of 4.
Subtract 0.96 from 4 because the price is “decreasing;” the answer will be less than 4.
When you subtract 0.96 from 4, then you get $3.04.
Can someone explain why we are multiplying .24 to 4
