There are so many Americans that do not celebrate Thanksgiving because of the story of the pilgrims coming and allegedly pillaging the town and killing off the Native Americans to take their land. This video makes it seem like the pilgrims and the Native Americans actually got along and celebrated each other's culture. What really is the truth?! Or is it a little bit of both that happened?!

    • @rogerbuesing9374

It was a peaceful celebration of two diverse cultures coming together for mutual benefit and that flourished into peace which lasted about 50 years. However…times change and so did the world.

It was a celebration of two cultures trying to coexist. But Europeans were so unsanitary that any contact with them made you sick with diseases. Almost instantly. Europe constantly went through black ages with horrible diseases, that killed thousands of people.

I want to know what and why do celebrate Thanksgiving? Do we celebrate it for the history of the past? Do we celebrate for being Thankful to God for the food on our tables (while the low income and homeless starve)? Do we celebrate for being thankful for a warm home to live in and clothes on our backs ( while many die in the harsh cold of winter from having poor housing or living on the streets)? Do we celebrate for having good health (while many get sick and die from have poor living conditions and living on the streets)? When I am talking about the homeless, I am not talking about the illegal migrants that crossed into America illegally. I am talking about the people that are Americans that have been here for years and those that are forced to lived in low income housing because the area they live in does not have enough employement. Think about the homeless and low income Americans and it will give a whole new perspective on what we all have to be thankful for and how rich we are in our life. I have lived in homeless shelter, low income and in Section 8. I raised my son's as a single mom after divorced and taught my sons how to be successful and they grew up to have careers and are upright citizens of America. I took what God blessed me with and earned a masters degree at 56. It is never to late there is still hope. But in the meantime let us not hate on the Americans that are in low income and are the real American homeless. Because some of them are the hereos of America that fought for our country. God bless them all and peace along with kindness be wherever they are in this nation.

I have native friends and white friends from America. And I saw on thanksgivings, that my white friend had posted happy thanksgiving and posted photos of her food.
and my petty ahh said, "I don't celebrate thanksgiving, because it wisher genocide on my people." And she just liked it.
And I left it for a few hours, and then I texted her and said, "Do you even though whwt thanksgiving is actually about?"
And she said, "Yeah, food, friends and family, board games, etc. That's all I know."
And I told her the truth and she said, "No, type it up. It says nothing like that on google."

The story given above is the difference between social studies and history. The part that was left out is the fact that William Bradford realize the socialistic system they had for growing crops and sharing in a commune did not work because there was no incentive to do so, but William Bradford changed to a capitalistic free market system, things changed for the better. The pilgrims were so successful that they had enough leftover to pay for their voyage across the sea to those in London and which they made a deal with. Even more important was it started the migration west to what we call the United States of America today. That's right without free market capitalism causing the expansion West in a new market the world would not look the same today.

You asked for the truth and here it is.
The first encounter took place on a beach now called First Encounter Beach on Cape Cod. The Naussets who were the first to encounter the Pilgrims shot arrows at them, and the Pilgrims returned with gun fire.
The Pilgrims later met Squanto who had been to England and was able to speak English.
His entire tribe had been decimated by disease, and he became a go between the Wampanoag Nation, and the English.
There are some who believe that the "First Thanksgiving" is fictional, however, there was an alliance between the English and the Wampanoag and the English settlers, came to their military aid, when they were put under siege by their traditional enemies. This intercession saved the Wampanoag from themselves being decimated.
After a long a twisted history we come to modern times, when The Trump administration took away federal recognition and ordered the tribe's land be taken out of trust status in March 2020. A get even from when Trump want to build a casino in the area and could not get a license.

Jamestown had been settled 13 years before the pilgrims and had spread into the Hundreds. Later moving the colonial "capital" to Williamsburg. Berkeley became Berkeley Plantation, home to President William Henry Harrison, called Tippecanoe. President campaign slogan "Tippecanoe and Tyler too." I have been to the Plimoth Plantation Museum (how it use to be spelled) in Massachusetts. The Wampanoag have a demonstration area as well as the colonist section of the living museum. The natives paint a different picture of the Thanksgiving and the pilgrims. When the pilgrims first arrived, they stumbled upon the Wampanoag's version of in-ground food storage. They raided the Wampanoag's winter supply. Based on the native narrative, I suspect that the pilgrims did not respect the natives as much as history recounts. The pilgrims saw the natives as more of a resource or temporary allies to use until they were no longer useful.

“The dark side of Thanksgiving“ and then immediately starts talking about everything except the first Thanksgiving

  • @jayegilkes
    @jayegilkes 2 месяца назад

Thanksgiving is a Sabbat, holy day, for the Gaelic wiccans since about the 2nd or 3rd century. The protested nicene Church of England adopted this pagan holy day. The pilgrims and puritans brought it to the New World and renamed it Thanksgiving. The fact remains, it’s a Harvest festival for the god Lugh.
Mark 7: 8, 9 - “You let go of the commandment of God and cling to the tradition of men. [Jesus] said to them: You skillfully disregard the commandment of God in order to keep your tradition”
Exodus 34: 14 - “You must not bow down to another god, for YHWH is known for requiring exclusive devotion. Yes, he is a God who requires exclusive devotion.”

Yes, I have. As I said in my post I was talking about the first ENGLISH thanksgivng. No actually check out the gov, presidents go to Berkeley. It was a prayer service not originally a meal. For example, JFK recognized Berkeley as site as first thanksgiving. Again, they are referring to english. When Bush visited 2007 to acknowledge the site of the first Thanksgiving.

The origin of the myth of Thanksgiving comes from Jamestown; not Plymouth and the myth is the complete opposite of the truth.. Jamestown was founded 13 years before Plymouth in 1607. What happened was the colonists were invited to a ceremonial peace dinner given in honor of the Jamestown inhabitants by the natives who decided to welcome these interlopers into the New World.. At the dinner they treacherously poisoned the local King of the Chesapeake Tribe, and killed all of his family. 200 American Natives all told, died of the poisoning, This is where the American myth of Thanksgiving originally actually comes from.

Numerous sources over 20-30 years ago before the internet became a censorship machine.
Books... over 30 years ago. Documentaries of first anthropological digs and discoveries. That was only one of the horrors of Jamestown. I don't save sources; I just save the facts.
I will however give you an excerpt from my book concerning Jamestown.
"The skeleton of a young Cornish Englishman was found in a shallow grave inside the fort; killed by a European firearm. North American natives did not have firearms. It showed how the murderers hidden inside their ranks used the rat poison called rats bane on their own crew and settlement. Rat’s bane that was used for the rats on the ship… was used to poison the entire settlement of human rats in the fort just after the ships were gone. The instant the ships returning to England went out of sight, some of them fell unaccountably deathly ill from obvious intentional poisoning. The written account tells starkly of the insane babblings of poisoned victims; one inmate running out into the middle of the fort stark naked, screaming that there was no God…."

      @@YouT00ber
No: I am not making this up.
During that time in England there was a huge social phenomenon going on.
due to the discovery of new chemicals and poisons. One of these new chemicals was arsenic.
It was used in ships to kill rats... Before the discovery of this chemical that could be manufactured on a
mass level cheap enough for ordinary people to buy it; Ships had been plagued with the problem of
rats eating the stores, chewing holes into barrels, chewing on ropes for the salt and generally being noxious pests.
When arsenic became commercially available; every ship that set out on a long voyage carried a supply of it.
It was called Ratbane, or Rat's bane. This gave ordinary people the opportunity to secretly poison anyone they didn't like. If you study the history of England in the 1600's; you will find there is a huge increase of poisonings.
But since you are so illiterate and have Attention Deficit Disorder Syndrome; you won't be able to read this entire post without your head hurting, so I won't write anymore.
