Thank you for sharing your work. Your paintings envoke a kind of peace within my soul that I find very comforting to experience in the rush of everyday life. One day I would love to own a Tim Schofield original.
I have explored somewhat with watercolor paint before and even oil pastels. Honestly, I enjoyed the oil pastels more but I do think it is because of my lack of experience with watercolor. Most definitely a medium I would want to explore more. Thank you once again for sharing your wonderful work, seeing those beautiful landscapes and seascapes inspires me so much.
Enjoy the journey with the acrylic, and always keep creating.

Hi Joan. Thank you for such a great comment, it means a lot to hear about the experience you have viewing my paintings. 🙂 Watercolours can be a really fun and rewarding medium, although there was definitely a period of frustration for me early on! I'm glad that the videos offer you some inspiration. Happy painting. 😄

Your paintings are stunning and ethereal and I love watching your videos. I have gone down the rabbit hole of trying other mediums besides watercolor, such as acrylic, pastel, alcohol ink, oil and sometimes I have trouble deciding which medium to use and which of my 3000 reference pictures to paint. I’ve started a new practice to scribble or sketch every day and make notes and I am determined to do one for every day of this year. A few years ago I did the same painting in four mediums and I have to say I really got better with each painting and learned a lot so I may start repeating that process. Thank you for everything you do!

I've only really started painting in earnest within the last year, although I've drawn (and cycled through various creative pursuits, all of which contribute to one's overall sentiment regarding others) for a long time. Started out with watercolour and have only recently had the space to start working in oils; it's funny, though, I've really latched onto solely using a palette knife. I think it's because it's just... something I couldn't do with watercolours (although I'm sure it's possible, maybe a little more tricky with pads though), and the textural extremes are very gratifying. After watching this, I'd like to give texture medium a go as well, so thank you. The end result was gorgeous; I hope someday I could come close to producing such a fine skyscape C:

When I feel myself approaching the ever hovering mental block in a piece of work or series, I will sometimes walk away from one medium and jump into the other as a distraction (or relief I suppose). Regarding "paint waste" - i feel like most of the times, the previous layers that you've painted over shines through ever so slightly which helps when creating interesting textures and mark making. So using a lot more paint is just a part of the process 😉 I look forward to see more. The frame looks stunning as usual!
Have you ever made a painting using both watercolour and heavy body acrylics? Using multiple mediums together is probably the best way for me to "stay loose" and experiment. Thank you for another great video!

I hear you on the waste of paint. You're absolutely right and I enjoy working in layers anyway, it always feels a bit more like digging or sculpting than painting to me. I appreciate it!
I tried combining acrylics and watercolours one time, albeit not in a very well thought out way n an unplanned and slightly chaotic way. Unsurprisingly, not great results unfortunately! I'm always up for combining mediums though and it's something I have thought of since. Not something I have plans with at the moment but if I come up with an idea I like I'd be open to trying it!
