Y’all crack me up everyone is saying this is biryani or jollof I know how to make biryani correctly. I didn’t use any Ginger or Cumin, garam masala, yogurt, peppers or anything like that (Lots of ways to make it too) Y’all saw tomato paste, basmati, an onion, and saffron and Called this biryani. But if I named this video how to make biryani/ jollof rice people would be on my head saying that’s not how you make it 😂😂 love y’all tho
As an Indian, i can say that This is definitely NOT biryani 😅
Biryani is much more complicated and time consuming... I know 😅
Also, much more ingredients..
Keyboard warriors always hv a thing with RUclips cooks😂😂
@@tulika_9519 thank you
@@sng6295 I see that 😂
there's 70 ways to cook biryani and this is one of them. when you go to the North indian house, this is the way they cook, they don't use yogurt & garam masala. but still it's your dish call what ever you want to call it.
“Add saffron… if you can afford it” 😂😂😂😂
Is it that expensive?
@@ridzuanismail105 3.95€ for 0.5g of saffron where i live
@@ridzuanismail105same price as gold in weight, I think.
@@ridzuanismail105 He wasn't joking, saffron is considered the most expensive spice. You can tell that it must be expensive when the small glass bottle of saffron you buy at the store usually contains very few of the red strands, which is saffron. The bottle, at the time of purchase, already looks almost empty!
Safron taste nasty af anyways lol

Glad you liked it!!
Where is the full recipe? Thank you
@@onagloria2684 I don’t think it’s written anywhere other than what’s in the short which lists the spices, honestly what’s most important. Tomato paste, you need enough to at least add color to the dish. Onions and garlic are at your taste preference. 2 cups of water per 1 cup of dry rice. This is a pretty versatile recipe. Changing things up is all part of the fun in cooking 🙂

This turned out insanely good. I cooked the rice for 24 mins in total (about 13 mins at high heat and then I turned down for the remaining 11mins). Rice came out perfectly cooked with that tasty sticky/cooked rice base.
Did you rinse the rice first? It looks like he just poured dry rice in the pan
@@E.P.7131 I didn't wash it either. Keeping the starch on the rice gives it the sticky/crispy base I found. I might try give it one rinse next time and see what happens
@@coachdonmez I made it tonight sans saffron & cloves. I didn't rinse the rice but I think I used too much cayenne because its super spicy. I was sweating and had to stop several times while eating.
I guess I need to level off the teaspoons of cayenne pepper instead of 2 mounds of teaspoon.
I wonder how I can calm the spice for the leftovers.
@@E.P.7131 I think we made it he same way, I excluded those two (due to not having any). It was definitely spicier than I thought it would be but it was still delish
@@coachdonmez Yea, it still tastes good.
I didn't have them either, I put cloves on my grocery list, saffron (the most expensive spice in the world) just not in the budget.

Look very delicious 🤤 😋 I love chicken and rice 🍚
Made this today it was delicious thanks
Biriyani in its simplest essence is cooking rice spices and meat together for quite some time, until all the flavours get mixed in everything. So even if you didn't use some of the widely used ingredients , this is technically biryani ! And we love biryani in all its thousand different forms ! And it's also true that if you called this a typical traditional biryani people would be up in arms. But as there are a thousand different versions , people can't say that this isn't one of it .

I currently have this recipe cooking in my skillet.
Ooowww, my house is smelling goooood!! ☺️
Dis is ART.
Its kabsa
You add the rice already cooked bro?
He's not supposed to add the rice raw.
I make this often bc it is so good!! I would remove some of the chicken geese before sautéing those onions and stuff. I am not a health-nut. I say this bc the skin will continue to release more grease while it cooks with the rice. This can make the final product VERY greasy, so keep an eye on that when making this dish.
This recipe for one pot chicken and rice was my favorite out of all the ones I tried. I definitely saved this one. Thank you! It was so good.
How much Rice plz.
@@vickyharris2320 2 cups of rice
More like kabsa, arabian counterpart of India's biryani which is lighter in taste but savory nonetheless

A LOT of cultures
"If you can afford it"? Who do you think I am?

I don’t tbh
That cooking technique and presentation are both fire. Extra respect using the cast iron skillet.
🤤 That’s all I can say……drooling big time!
Looks delicious but does the rice actually cook? I always have issues with rice in one pan meals lol
Good question I can never get the rice the way I like it in them one pan dishes
Yeah, you have to use enough broth and cook it on low heat
Yes I just made this. Medium-High for like 8 mins, and then simmer for about 10. Just make sure rice is submerged in broth before you put the lid on.
Chicken Biryani getting modified everywhere nowadays, but looks delicious

Biryani appropriation by western folks. I knew this would happen.
i will always defend people cooking food from cultures they don't belong, but if you are going to make a cultural recipe, at least use the name, this dude is calling the biryani a generic "chicken and rice", he could have the decency to bring the traditional name along with the recipe to us westerners
If he didn’t know that “proper” name, give him some grace and let it go.
@saighberyasi7752 Practically every culture in the world that eats rice has its own meat and rice dish. Chicken and rice is its own thing, so it's entirely possible this man was messing around with that and accidentally recreated something else. Jollof rice is basically the same thing as biriyani but it's made by africans. Biriyani doesn't even use chicken stock.
this isn’t Biryani at all 🤣 Chicken and rice isn’t exclusive to just us South Asians you know. If anything this is more like Jollof rice from West Africa or rice dishes from the Middle East rather than South Asian Biryani. You need to be expand your world view more and actually realise that different cultures exist than just your own 🙄
@@saighberyasi but this isn’t Biryani? This is clearly just chicken and rice. If you have no idea what a Biryani is then just say…

Bro his main objective cooking this dish is to survive, not being correct about food knowledge. Give him some grace and tell him nicely.
