I've read S&W mag springs are "finicky" when new. I had one failure to feed in my first mag as well. Not a hiccup since. I'm looking forward to some holster choices. Ultra thin for conceal carry (in my opinion) I am able to shoot right or left hand only as well as each hand dominant when shooting 2 handed. I have short fingers and i like hitting the mag release with my trigger finger. Very happy with this pistol.
This is my first 5.7 so I don’t know any better when it comes to ergos but I can say this is my most accurate centerfire so it’s my carry choice . Btw you just made a holster for me and this gun and it in mail now and I am looking forward to it.
It's not for you, I get it. Mine functions flawlessly, and ergonomically fits my hand like a glove. It's the best offering in similarly priced 5.7x28mm semiautomatic pistols in my opinion; which is based on my experience, and is why I NEVER make gun purchases based on what someone else thinks.
Yeah no one should ever make a purchase based on one persons opinion for sure. That’s the great thing about all the options we have in this market, everyone can find what works best for them personally. What feels great to one person doesn’t for others and vice versa. Thanks for watching, we truly appreciate it!
@@muddyrivertactical What really rubs me the wrong way is reviewers who slam the gun and the manufacturer for no apparent good reason, and think they are the experts and we should listen to them. I don't get that from you, but a lot of times the negativity in some of these gun reviews is little more than nit-picking, and really not to be taken seriously. Unfortunately, some people based on their comments do make purchasing decisions based on these reviews, without much personal experience and research.
@@bustabass9025 yeah that’s not us for sure. I won’t slam anyone but will give opinions for sure. Like I said there is no one perfect pistol for everyone, it just doesn’t exist. So what I think is great some people won’t and vice Vera. I may not always be right, but I won’t lie on my opinion. For us we deal with a lot of people having a holster shop and a walk in retail store as well so we have a little more knowledge and insights in the industry than a guy in his basement trying to just get views like unfortunately we see all too often
The slide release is not a thumb operated style. you actually have to slide the slide back until a small semicircle lines up with the pin and you use a punch or tool to press it out from the side. It is not a typical slide release
It’s a slide release, and a take down lever. It does operate like any other slide release, you just can’t hardly reach it to us it for a slide release like it should be.
Kevin, liked your review and agree. I work for a LGS and we got a 5.7 in and i put a Hogue universal (fits alll Glocks)grip sleeve on the 5.7. it took a bit of stretching but the grip went on and makes all the difference in the world. The finger grooves on the front strap and slight swells on either side of the grip. I just put it on layaway. One question...when will MRT have a iwb kydex holdter for it. MRT is my go to for holsters.
Several people are having the same issues. I had issues with both of my factory magazines out of the box and an additional magazine that I bought online. I posted a video on my channel
Not in our plans unfortunately. Lights change so often and CNC machining molds cost so much that it’s super hard to make it a good business decision. Most places you see with light options are places that are using $40 blue guns to mold holsters and throwing lights on those. We don’t make holsters that way as we demand a higher quality product if our names going to be on it
Thanks for the holster, it fits great. (p.s.- my thumb goes almost all the way to the front of the slide release, so I haven’t had any issues.) I use the Hogue 17000 sleeve on the grip as well.
I just purchased this gun and was about to order a holster for it but I can’t get the magazines to work. The first bullet will chamber but then all the remaining bullets stay in their initial position and aren’t rising up into position. If I eject the magazines the remaining bullets spill out or are tilting at such an angle they’re jamming down inside the magazines. I’ve been loading and reloading the magazines over and over, and still can’t get them to feed reliably when fully loaded. I was hoping a little bit of use would relax the magazine or break it in but it’s not worked yet. Loading the same bullets multiple times into the magazines is scratching up the casings terribly and some of them have even broken open on me spilling the powder inside the gun. I haven’t been able to fire it at all. I’d say buyer beware. I’ve watched a few channels review the gun since having purchased it and they have had similar issues though I may have gotten particularly bad magazines. If I can ever get the gun to work I will definitely want a holster from you. I like the web site and was about to place an order when I thought I better wait till I’ve got the gun in hand. What if I didn’t like it or something. Any idea how I get Smith and Wesson’s attention they’re holding up another sale for you. 😉
@@muddyrivertactical Smith and Wesson said if I was willing to pay for shipping they would send me some new magazines. Fantastic customer service . . . 😒
I bought 3 additional mags beyond the 2 they provide and all of them have that issue. From what I can tell they made a bad mag. Spring tilts really bad and bullets get stuck on the mag while rising up when fully loaded.
UPDATE: Smith & Wesson exchanged the magazines. Eventually sent me an additional magazine as well. I have since put a few hundred rounds through it with no problems. Bought two more and they’ve had no issues so far even at max load capacity. So I must have had some particularly bad magazines. Smith & Wesson made it right enough and I love the pistol. Shoot it every week now.

I just took the springs out and straightened them up, then lubed the inside of the mag. 500 rounds or so later I haven't had the problem again

I put a Hogue slip over grip on mine. It’s the model that fits the Glock 17 I put on mine.

Is the holster going to take into account the threaded barrel or will it poke out the bottom?
It will cover it on this model
The barrel is not threaded it’s the sleeve that the barrel moves in that is threaded.
