I just cannot believe that I've never explored that Mixing board mini-menu. I certainly didn't know about the selection options!
I love your solution to doing volume snapshots - that is going to become my new default as well.
Thanks for these DP tutorials! They also help in spreading the word about DP and helping fresh users out by providing more info on RUclips!

Thanks Terry! It makes me feel so good to know that's you're getting something out of these, and like you I hope that a few people feel moved to grab a copy of DP. Thanks again!

Instead of the double-press on the T, you can use the continuous press on the T key .

Many, many thanks for this great technical pedagogy: for the last selection tips, I can make this but with Command and not Shift .

Thanks for the comment my friend, and I'll have a look at what you mentioned.

Excellent, Reed. I wish I'd used temporary track groups to edit volumes on several tracks in the seq. window simultaneously in my latest mix, Music For A Sacred Space (for which I recorded the piano at your studio -- the session of which you used to demonstrate piano recording in a previous video!). Always enlightening my man!
(As a side note, for your viewers' edification: I also recorded the solo violin part there, plus several pre-recorded violin tracks. Reed is a great engineer, producer, musician and person.)

Regarding global board layouts, I suppose in addition to Window Sets, you could put them in a template, right?

Thanks for the comment! That is correct, user layouts persist when you save them in a template and then use that template to start another new project. Window sets are a little more 'meta' in that they live at the level of the preferences, which is a global level, so they don't save in templates.

Hi Reed Robins, congratulations on his tutorials. I have a question for you: how can I view time, duration, etc. data in a digital performer track? I saw it in one of his tutorials where the traces showed all the data. thanks for your kindness.

Hi Ugo! Thanks so much for this. There is a couple of things to mention. The first is that if you go into the sequence editor and access the mini menu, you can see an entry called 'show times'. The disclosure triangle will give you a list with choices: None/Current Time/Original Timestamp/User Timestamp . I tend to leave that on 'current time', which shows you the current time placement of the soundbite, and the duration of the soundbite, which is helpful. The others are where the soundbite was originally placed (original timestamp), and where you have added a user timestamp.
By default that is set to 'None'.
Secondly, if you go into the menu Setup->Time Formats and pick that (shortcut: option-space-T), then you can adjust/add/subtract all sorts of time information in rulers, and displays like the counter, etc. At the top are some presets from Motu, plus there's a way to set and save your own presets. The disclosure triangle under the presets section when expanded allows you to tweak the time formats exactly as you like for various aspects of the program (such as selection information, rulers, event information, etc.). You can save and recall them.
I think that may be what you're looking for in this question. Thanks again my friend!
