I wish these men's fashion videos would describe more into detail when they describe "quality" and "construction" as more than just "nice" and "better." Pls talk about the tailoring, canvassing, super 100s and Italian mills, etc. when talking about construction and quality...
I'll say that all of the indochino suits that I have ordered have been delivered in under two weeks. They say 3-4 weeks, but that is the absolute top of their timeline, but during times when they aren't super busy you can get them sooner. My most recent one, from clicking order to at my door was 11 days.
Indochino messed my suit up and I really regretted going there, but the stuff is awesome. Suit-supply has beautiful suits with quality fabric and I am amazed how their off suits fit me without customer made.
I would have to favor Supply Suit just slightly only because I'm a gentleman who notice the "devil in the details" outside of that I think they both offer fantastic options for online custom made suits thanks for the video guys great job!
Yeah, working sleeve buttons can't really be altered unless you do an added in button because it will change the proportions on the sleeve. So it is better to forgo working sleeve buttons if you know the sleeve will need to be extended/shortened otr. You would need to do a mtm if your arms don't fit their otr
Eric Rodriguez hard to say. All I can say is that they have mtm, Italian fabrics that are much higher quality then indochino. Natural canvassing, functioning button holes, you can choose lining, fit, pockets, buttons, lapels etc. overall much better fabric, fit and construction over indochino which is barely a step up from men’s wearhouse.
I'm a big fan of Suit Supply, the Lazio line fits me really well with minimal tailoring (shortening the trousers a bit). I've got two and will buy another one this summer for rotation. Great value for the quality and fit. Way better than off the rack Boss or whatever.
Suit Supply for me, man. The jacket fit perfectly when I got it, plus it took 2 days to ship. You're right when you say it has character. They have great wide peak lapels...just the way I like them. Great video, George!
Lucky for me, Suitsupply fits me almost perfectly straight off the rack with no alterations necessary. I even have had people ask if I it was custom made!
Very educational video about company’s suits. They both seem to work well for you but the purple one really stands out even though it is a slightly lessor quality suit. Most people wear cheap suits and can’t tell the difference so I think it comes down to what’s important to the buyer. Indochino would probably work best for me because I’m tall, have an athletic build with wide shoulders so off the rack suits don’t work for me.
Great video! But there is one thing.. Suitsupply has Made to measure fully customized suits. You can chose between more than 4000 fabrics, many linings, buttons, melts, design options and you have the chance to write stuff behind your collar or on the inside lining.
The only gripe I have with your Suit Supply Suit is that everytime you move there is a collar gap. Even though the Indochino suit material is cheaper like you mention, but it drape on your body much better.
His dress shirt collar is kinda short, and even if you're wearing a good fitting suit a slimmer collar may bring that "gap". I think he can "fix" it with longer collars such as milano style, and other Italian spread collars, longer than this he's wearing on the video.
I've got two Indochino suits and I love them. The first suit was a plum plaid and it was super bold. The only problem I had with it was the shoulders were a little too long (but not terribly long). The next suit was an emerald green and it was great! Fit, design, color, etc, epic. I would agree that the quality of fabric is not the best, but definitely better than some of my off the rack suits in the same price range. I haven't tried suit supply yet, but I can say that when it come to made to measure, the best quality suit maker I have found so far is Oliver Wicks. Their fit and quality of fabric is just breathtaking. I just ordered another suit from them and I plan to keep them as one of my main suit suppliers. However, when it comes to bold suits, I definitely order from Indochino.
Have you thought about doing a review on Spier & Mackay? Fantastic suits/shirts for the price, and covers a wider range of fits than SuitSupply (especially trouser-wise...it is difficult to fit in SuitSupply trousers if you do any sort of leg workout on a consistent basis). Hit the nail on the head with Indochino. The lack of more sartorial options is a massive downside.
I have short legs and a longer torso and I bodybuild so for me personally indochino is the winner, love to customization and knowledgeable staff! Shout out the Michigan ave store in Chicago!!
Wow! I came into this video expecting to hear that I was going to be told that suit supply was the way to go but I am actually impressed with indochino! I had no idea that they were custom made suits and not off the rack! Great Video, got a new subscriber and I like this video!
Especially since Indochino added more options a couple months back (especially soft-shoulder, which they inexplicably manually tailored after delivery before), I'd pick them. Indeed, Suit Supply fabrics can be better, but the suits are more expensive to begin with--and what annoys me most is how they charge for tailoring. Imo it should be included, but not even the hem is. So whereas Indochino will be ~$-380-$500 for most suits with 1) custom fit from your measurements from the start, 2) very nice fabrics, and 3) with all tailoring included, a Suit Supply suit may have a better fabric, but it'll be about $500-$800 + $80-$125 in tailoring. So considering it might cost you twice as much, Indochino is the clear value winner imo.
I can only compare Indochino with Joseph A Bank as that’s what I have. I do believe that I like my Indochino suits much better than the Bank suits. They’re better constructed and as you mention in the video you can get just about any color you wish. I’m also thinking the Style Guides won’t laugh or even scream at you but they will work with you to achieve a well constructed suit you’ll be proud to wear. The Guides will also recommend accessories that will complement the suit, they will ask you if you’re comfortable wearing French Cuffs, what type tie you prefer (I like bow ties more), and a lot of other things that you might not think of or that you hadn’t worn so it’s like getting a full wardrobe consultation. I don’t know if anybody else would take care of you to this degree, but as my Style Guide Jackson says, it’s all about making you happy as well as making you look good. The ultimate goal is to have a suit that looks like it’s meant for you alone.
I like indochino a bit better just because of the customization options given and price. Ive had a very good experience with them, plus Im not too picky on extreme quality of suits.
One other negative to Suit Supply is that the pant size is based on the jacket size. I often find that with my jacket size, the pant size is 2 sizes too big. Sort of forced to get them tailored, which doesn't always look the best when you're taking 2"+ off the waist.
Guys, not sure about the US, but in Europe they offer a range of mixed size suits on their website. You might even consider going custom made (still talking about the website) which allows you to choose the fabric, size and cut of the trousers (independently of the cut of the jacket), size and cut of a waistcoat (optional), and some details like belt loops or side adjusters, and turnups. I did it myself, went for a navy suit in a 48r jacket, a 46 waistcoat and 46 trousers. Suits are well priced, not a bargain if you go made to measure. The online customer care is exceptional and with made to measure suits you can return each piece separately, get refunded and order a new one. I'm from Italy and to me it doesn't make much sense to compare suitsupply with brands like zegna o canali. First of all Zegna has an undisputed reputation for his fabrics. That's not enough to charge those prices on off the rack suits which usually fit pretty bad on young athletic guys. If you can afford those prices just go to a good tailor and buy some Zegna or other luxurious fabrics. Don't forget that suitsupply does offer a range of different cuts which fit totally different. In my case, Havana is the one which fits me the best, followed by Washington (with both of them I didn't need to tailor the jackets at all and you can't see any collar gap or crease in the shoulder area!) and Lazio. I had to return a wonderful Napoli because of the extreme collar gap. After some suits of different brands there's one thing I'm sure about...Fit is King! Use your budget to get the best fitting suit you can. Hope this late and long comment helps!
Nice vid bro. I’m thinking about grabbing a Suitsupply Lazio blue check suit. I don’t wear suits often, but getting tired of wearing Jos A Bank suits. They aren’t that great 🤣 After trying on a Ted Baker London suit at Nordstrom the other day, there’s nothing like a high quality suit. I really liked the Ted Baker, but it was more than I wanted to spend on a suit.
I gotta say Suit Supply seems to carry a good selection of taller and shorter sizes and styles too, at my location at least, which helps a shorter dude like me.
I used to have an amazing linen suit I inherited from my dad, unfortunately I gain a lot of weight I didn’t think I would ever lose so to goodwill it went. I have since lost 100 pounds do to changes in lifestyle and have have a wedding coming up that’s outdoors in the night of summer. Would indochino be good for linen since it’s typically a cheaper material? Modern suits aren’t made very well in my opinion so I’m hesitant to spend money on something that I don’t think will give me the longevity of the older bespoke suits.
went to indochino showroom to get measured for pants before i spend money on a suit. after 3 tries its like they didnt even listen to the changes i was pointing out to correct the issue not to mention they used a different color thread to blind stitch the hem. the black thread on red pants was very visible. I ended up undoing all the changes and going to my local tailor to make them right since Indoshino does not have a return policy. in the end the pants cost me more than my vaorite fitting pants i got off the rck at JC Pennys.
Custom fit suiting is a must. Thanks for the detailing for customized suiting . You look like a top model. Detailing the suits seems to be suited for you.
I have a suit from Suit Supply and love it. I’m a fan of heavier cut frantic and Indochino just doesn’t offer that. Suit Supply are more of the classic design that I enjoy.
I love suit supply's fit and finish and have purchased a couple of items from them. I just haven't received great service in their Chicago shop. I'm hesitant to spend any more money there because of that. I've been looking for a good alternative.
What happened at their Chicago shop at suit supply? That’s the nearest one to me and I was planning on setting up an appointment there for the end of May or beginning of June cause I need a suit for a wedding and another suit just to have for fun. I’ve read reviews and it seems a mixed bag that some people have good experiences where others don’t.
Love my suit supply suit. Issue for me are the limited locations only in major metropolitan cities. I live in Michigan and nothing in Detroit. Need to travel to Chicago or wait until I visit family in NJ to go to the many NYC locations.
I've only gravitated toward Indochino because I feel they offer more variety in designs than suit supply. Suit Supply, I noticed mostly has solid colored suits.
@@gentslounge not yet. I am curious and if I find a unique style that I like at suit supply, then I will give it a shot. I purchased from Indochino because they had a very nice looking suit fabric that caught my attention. I believe it was called the Lancaster Stretch Check Light Blue Suit, if memory serves me right. I was pleased with the suit and although I needed some slight alterations, done in house as you mentioned, overall it worked out. I have a conference coming up in a couple of months, so I will likely buy a couple of suits in advance. I'll give suit supply a shot and compare the fitting practices. On another note, have you tried Studiosuits? If so, what did you think?
Okay, you're the first person to say what I've thought for some time about Indochino suits, they're very bland. I'd rather work harder,...save $250 or $300 dollars more, and get something with more character and better material. I've thought this since the first time I saw an Indochino ad. Even the models they hired to wear and display their product did not look very good in their suits, I felt. The Indochino suit seemed more like military issue than style. They fit, yes,...but a grey or navy Indochino suit is nothing to get excited about.
In all fairness and with all due respect, not all gentlemen are looking to pop with their suit. They want a suit that fits well, with a nicer quality of fabric and good cost. Indochino fits all those qualities. I have tried both suit supply and indochino and both have their places. I'd say indochino supplies the workhorse suits whereas suit supply is more for standing out on that night on the town.
SuitSupply Napoli fit for $400 is the best bank for your buck. Basic, conservative notch lapel suit. Made with Italian fabic. I have two, both are from the fabric mill giant Vitale Barbaris Canonico. I had an early Indochino suit (probably 8 years ago) that was trash compared to the Napoli. I ended up giving the Indochino one away.
You know Jeffery, I was on the SuitSupply website today. I'm really looking into them. Thanks for the heads up on the Napoli. I"ll check that out. I'm looking for something in the $400-$800 range..so we'll see what the Napoli is all about. Thanks man.
Suitsupply has slightly better quality, but it doesn’t make up for they’re trash customer service, I’ve been to two suitsupplys and they had consistently bad service, they rush you and if you’re not buying that very second they get frustrated and don’t care to help you. I get it, I work a commission job too, but when you have a good product people will have questions so you should be willing to answer. Indochino was awesome I went to a show room, they were polite and very helpful and I ended up getting 2 suits because of their great service
Not even close. Suitsupply wins. Samulesohn can be good with a more classic look, but it’s more pricy with subpar material use. The next step up will be OTR Canali IMO.
There’s no comparison, indochino is very limited in what it offers compared to suitsupply. If you look at all the things suitsupply offers as a company compared to indochino, the comparison isn’t fair. If you want more options and better fabric with better construction, go to suitsupply. You pay more but you get more !
I got to say, I think indochino could be great especially at their pride point. I got a gift card for indochino so I ended up getting a suit, I got fitted, I had to wait a few weeks. The first suit I got had super short sleeves, which needed to be altered even though I got fitted already. The back of the suit neck was kind of ruffled and the pants were way too big. So I had to make an appointment now , after scheduling an appointment to get measured. The jacket had to be re done because of the ruffling issue behind the neck. They changed the suit sleeve length on the computer end , so the new jacket came in and the sleeves were good, and I had to pick up the pants once they were altered. I wasn’t too happy with the fit overall. If you need something time sensitive , I’d be weary of getting an indochino suit. The suit could’ve came out great but I think it’s safer to get something OTR and have it altered.
I’m an ex suitsupply sales rep, “custom” is 639 which means you take the jacket size you need and pants size you need then able to swap fabric then do final alterations in store.
arandajeanluc Do the suit supply suits come in any fit other than a slim fit? That seems to be a trend these days especially with the younger gents. Im older I prefer a more traditional fitting suit with a full break in my pants
JCrew suits suit me. I think they are textiles are amazing, their cuts are amazing, and they literally fit me right off the rack. say what you want about other companies however JCrew suits really where the Forerunner in the new shapes and silhouettes for the American Market over the past 15 years. Amazing.
The sleeve adjustment leaving the buttons so far back is an absolute deal breaker for me. Indochino would have cut you a new jacket. You’re comparing MTM with OTR and that’s like apples and oranges. Olive Wick or Black Lapel are much better comparisons to Indochino.
I work as a style guide for Indochino and you are absolutely right. The problem with functional buttonholes is that they cannot be moved in alterations, and there is a limit to how much the sleeve length can be altered whether it be longer or shorter. That is why I always suggest non functional buttons for someones first suit with us to make sure we don't need to remake it and throw away an otherwise beautiful blazer. And yes, if the sleeves were too short by that much, I would absolutely make you a brand new, better blazer.
He bought the suit off the rack at suit supply Incase you missed that. If it was a custom made to measure, they would have the buttons appropriately placed..
That Indochino suit looks👌 on you. Bold colour but you pull it off well, sir. Regarding the choice between the two. I got the suit supply for my graduation ball 5 years ago. Fantastic quality for any suit company even up to £1000 in UK.
I don't have either but my next suit will be from indochino for sure. I just started my sartorial journey and just bought my first suit.... And now... I'm hooked! When i wear the suit i feel like a million bucks. I can only imagine with a custom M2M suit!
I loved my Suitsupply suit. Great fit, but after three months of wearing the suit for work maybe once a week, the crotch fabric started pilling hard, and eventually blew out. When I contacted Suitsupply, they were not interested in the least bit about fixing it, even when I offered to pay for a repair. They just tried to sell me a new pair of pants. Was rather sad, really, seeing as how a local tailor fixed it no problem.
Modern suits look "too small" to me... Kind of like seeing a grown man trying to wear his son's clothes. Which is scary... Doesn't anyone think that maybe today's "slim suit" will soon become 1976's bell bottoms? Also- thought I'd add this... Regardless of who or where you order a suit, shirts, shoes, whatever... Consider going to a local tailor or seamstress and have them measure you. You could even watch a tutorial video on how to measure, and have a friend or spouse do it... All you'd need is a "dressmaker's tape"... I'm certain it would be only a nominal fee to have it done professionally, though. You can then be sure, and send those measurements along to whichever manufacturer you choose.
The biggest problem are the too short trousers. It is an (already degradig) trend and in now way classy, dudes look like clowns in this style and in business context no one will take you seriosly with too short trousers. It is just laughable.
Without watching the video.... I have owned both. Suit supply is highly superior in their off the rack fit and fabric options. I am a suit supply fan boy, but only because they earned my loyalty through quality fit, customer service, and just dang good looking suits/coats/trousers
nice video George! some points you mentioned...i didn't hear from others before.. anyway, i hope you fix your collar when wearing a tie. or if that is not possible, please don't wear this shirt with a tie. if you take a close look at the collar (in this video), you will know why i said it! cheers!
1.) Suitsupply carries shorts and long’s so they have fits for everyone. 2.) Suitsupply also offers MTM or “custom” as well and has more accurate measurement points then indochino with a TON of fabric choices, lapel choices, button choices, lining etc. 3.) Alteration costs are some of the most affordable in the industry 4.) Fabric quality is NOT a “small” thing. Suitsupply offers some of the finest Italian fabrics in the world. Indochino’s fabric looks cheap like men’s wearhouse. 5.) Suitsupply offers more super counts 6.) You can get bold fabric suit and jackets at Suitsupply or your basic navy and gray work suit. 7.) Suitsupply uses vertical integration to control cost and pricing, giving you suits that start at $399-$1100, that other companies charge you $1500+ for. 8.) Suitsupply uses natural fibers for canvassing. 9.) NO COMPARISON between Suitsupply and indochino. Suitsupply is far and away a better brand. Unfortunately this guy doesn’t seem to have the knowledge to make this video.
“They didn’t move the buttons when they extended the sleeve, or they didn’t add another button”. That’s not a service they offer plus it takes way too much time to cover up old holes to make new ones to move them closer to the sleeve hem. One of the nuances of OTR.
What are you talking about... Suitsupply offers Made to Measure options.... you can pick from over 600 italian fabrics etc. And you can customize the fit etc. Although you obviously have to go to a store!
Suits Supply Quality is everything and less customizable facts will push customer to perfection as it can get weird if completely done by clients or customers themselves.
Congrats on your video, I love suit supply for the same reasons you love them too. My suggestion for you would be to compare more dynamically two different brands for example: about fabrics, about customization, etc...
Have a few suits from suitsupply, love them all, but was really frustrated with my latest purchase. I'm 6'3", with really long arms and always need the suit sleeves extended a bit but this time the consultant messed up - she picked a regular sized suit, not the longer version, so after I got my suit tailored - the sleeves looked ridiculous, way worse than what George mentions in the video. Nobody notices but it annoys the heck out of me every time I see. That being said, I'm still going to be buying from suitsupply in the future, but will be more careful next time and not blindly trust the consultants
Yeah defiantly gonna wait and see. Sad to not see your special GL collection from them. You guys gonna collab with any other brands? You and Blake have great taste.
Indochino got a 2/10 from me. Great experience and nice suit, but they measured me wrong 3x. They measure me wrong twice at one location, the city im near had another one so i went to that and they messed up too. I ended up getting it for free because of this but the headache it caused was unreal. I live 45 minutes away and having to drive 3x for this was a joke.
Gent's Lounge still worth a mention that Suitsupply is by far the more well rounded company. You can do off the rack at an affordable $399-$1100 or do mtm if you want those “special” details. And it the fabrics are better quality, the construction is better quality and the fit is more accurate.

You should do Suitsupply mtm. They can always take care of you whether it’s off the rack or mtm!

I've done made to measure with SuitSupply several times and I was thinking the same thing.
MTM is not the same thing as full customized. Fully Customized is called Bespoke and will run 2-4 times the cost of MTM.
The only gripe I have with your Suit Supply Suit is that everytime you move there is a collar gap. Even though the Indochino suit material is cheaper like you mention, but it drape on your body much better.
I think my shoulders and back got a little bigger since I originally tailored the suit.
-G
His dress shirt collar is kinda short, and even if you're wearing a good fitting suit a slimmer collar may bring that "gap". I think he can "fix" it with longer collars such as milano style, and other Italian spread collars, longer than this he's wearing on the video.
Just go to Vietnam (aka your country I believe??) For proper tailored fit cut for the same price with real quality fabric.
Love Suitsupply!
NaThaN - CS:GO I agree
Good price/quality?
Have you thought about doing a review on Spier & Mackay? Fantastic suits/shirts for the price, and covers a wider range of fits than SuitSupply (especially trouser-wise...it is difficult to fit in SuitSupply trousers if you do any sort of leg workout on a consistent basis).
Hit the nail on the head with Indochino. The lack of more sartorial options is a massive downside.
We will check it out!
I have short legs and a longer torso and I bodybuild so for me personally indochino is the winner, love to customization and knowledgeable staff! Shout out the Michigan ave store in Chicago!!
How many bodies have you built? Is it a factory setting?
Wow! I came into this video expecting to hear that I was going to be told that suit supply was the way to go but I am actually impressed with indochino! I had no idea that they were custom made suits and not off the rack! Great Video, got a new subscriber and I like this video!
Thank you!
I can't comment on Indochino but as for Suit Supply, I love the one that I have. The fabric as you mentioned is amazing and the style is bold as well.
Yea I've had an issue there as well. Don't quote me on this but I think if you go into the showroom you can mix it up.
-G
Unfortunately not, it's the same as the online experience.
Gent's Lounge At the showroom in NY they wouldn't allow me to mix.
Adamas I have that suit from suit supply, you won’t be disappointed
Jacob Tolbert I grabbed the suit and love it! 🙌
I gotta say Suit Supply seems to carry a good selection of taller and shorter sizes and styles too, at my location at least, which helps a shorter dude like me.
A very great review!! If I may ask, do you get your shirts from Indochino and SuitSupply as well? or another company?
Thank you again for the post
I have some indochino shirt but most of mine are from eton or anto.
Which location?
Custom fit suiting is a must. Thanks for the detailing for customized suiting . You look like a top model. Detailing the suits seems to be suited for you.
I have a suit from Suit Supply and love it. I’m a fan of heavier cut frantic and Indochino just doesn’t offer that. Suit Supply are more of the classic design that I enjoy.
Yes sir!
both are so different now and both offer the custom made to meaasure would be good to get new update
Suitsupply makes full made to Measure and Sami-custom as well. Great video.
Definitely needed this review! Have been trying to decide which one to get
Glad to help!
-G
Love my suit supply suit. Issue for me are the limited locations only in major metropolitan cities. I live in Michigan and nothing in Detroit. Need to travel to Chicago or wait until I visit family in NJ to go to the many NYC locations.
Kevin Curtin Suitsupply is coming to Detroit! End of 2018 possibly beginning of 2019!
Is this published somewhere yet? Just got me very excited since that store is like a gentleman's candy store.
I love suit supply, but I can’t justify spending so much for off the rack, especially for my athletic proportions where nothing ever fits me properly
I've only gravitated toward Indochino because I feel they offer more variety in designs than suit supply. Suit Supply, I noticed mostly has solid colored suits.
Have you seen their made to measure?
I'm with you!
Anthony Johnson completely agree, if the models don’t even look good in the suits, that says a lot.
Thanks man.
How would you compare indachino suit verse a Jos a bank suit on quality ?
Suitsupply has slightly better quality, but it doesn’t make up for they’re trash customer service, I’ve been to two suitsupplys and they had consistently bad service, they rush you and if you’re not buying that very second they get frustrated and don’t care to help you. I get it, I work a commission job too, but when you have a good product people will have questions so you should be willing to answer. Indochino was awesome I went to a show room, they were polite and very helpful and I ended up getting 2 suits because of their great service
great feedback sir! Because of it I think I'll try Indochino at the Mall of America. I hope I walk away with the same experience!
This was my experience with two suitsupply stores too
Grim Reaper where was that suit supply located? I’m just curious because I was thinking of going to one in LA
J Castro Boston and Philly
I didn’t know indochino made loud colors. I never see any on the site. How did you get that one made ??
Not even close. Suitsupply wins. Samulesohn can be good with a more classic look, but it’s more pricy with subpar material use. The next step up will be OTR Canali IMO.
There’s no comparison, indochino is very limited in what it offers compared to suitsupply. If you look at all the things suitsupply offers as a company compared to indochino, the comparison isn’t fair. If you want more options and better fabric with better construction, go to suitsupply. You pay more but you get more !
loved the video, i think if you guys wanna grow the channel you need to innovate and put out more content like this
Thank you!
-G
Love it. I’ve done suitsupply but I will give indochino a try!
I have both, and definitely prefer off the rack Suit Supply over Indochino. I had to have Indochino suit redone a couple of times.
I do have to ask how old is your Indochino suit? I had the same issues a few years back.
The suit could’ve came out great but I think it’s safer to get something OTR and have it altered.
suit supply offers well established mtm service as well
True but it starts at about $700+ I believe?
Gent's Lounge $639+tax is what I paid for the made to measure feature
I’m an ex suitsupply sales rep, “custom” is 639 which means you take the jacket size you need and pants size you need then able to swap fabric then do final alterations in store.
The real mtm feature starts at 1000
arandajeanluc Do the suit supply suits come in any fit other than a slim fit? That seems to be a trend these days especially with the younger gents. Im older I prefer a more traditional fitting suit with a full break in my pants
Every con of Indochino that he just said sounds like a pro from my perspective. Except the fabric quality.
All in your perspective!
I'm really enjoying that you're putting out more videos. Looking forward to seeing you guys at the new studio. Nice tie, btw.
We will be in the new studio in two weeks!
-G
I use Indochino suits and shirts for every day work. I have Suitsupply for going out.
Thank you for this video I needed it I was lookin for places I could get suits from
what sunglasses are those, they look great!
Linda farrow
JCrew suits suit me. I think they are textiles are amazing, their cuts are amazing, and they literally fit me right off the rack. say what you want about other companies however JCrew suits really where the Forerunner in the new shapes and silhouettes for the American Market over the past 15 years. Amazing.
Nothing wrong with JCrew! Their cuts are a bit wide and short in the arms for me but I do have many pairs of their chinos.
-G
Is there a difference between customized and tailored fits?
With custom you have a little more adjustment area but essentially as long as it fits in the shoulders everything can be tailored for a price.
This particular brand your wearing, what is it called? I WANT TI NOW!!
prose00 the entire video is him talking about two suit companies...take a wild guess
Good review, thanks for posting
That Indochino suit looks👌 on you. Bold colour but you pull it off well, sir.
Regarding the choice between the two. I got the suit supply for my graduation ball 5 years ago. Fantastic quality for any suit company even up to £1000 in UK.
So Indochino gets docked for being “too basic,” but Suit Supply gets points for having fewer customized options….
Just because you can choose options that look basic make it less basic.
@@gentslounge "60% of the time, it works every time" logic
Hmm, here in europe suitsupply offers mtm-suits that are very customizable. Price starts 499€.
They do here as well.
I don't have either but my next suit will be from indochino for sure. I just started my sartorial journey and just bought my first suit.... And now... I'm hooked! When i wear the suit i feel like a million bucks. I can only imagine with a custom M2M suit!
Your going to love it. Make sure you tell the tailor what type of fit you want!
42R with Suit Supply, how tall are you? Thanks!
6’1”
I was wondering the same thing!
Ben Shaffer this happened to me too.
I am a suit supply fan boy, but only because they earned my loyalty through quality fit, customer service, and just dang good looking suits/coats/trousers
nice video George! some points you mentioned...i didn't hear from others before..
anyway, i hope you fix your collar when wearing a tie. or if that is not possible, please don't wear this shirt with a tie. if you take a close look at the collar (in this video), you will know why i said it! cheers!
What’s the difference between men’s wearhouse and suit supply?
Everything. Not even comparable.
A large ocean
1.) Suitsupply carries shorts and long’s so they have fits for everyone.
2.) Suitsupply also offers MTM or “custom” as well and has more accurate measurement points then indochino with a TON of fabric choices, lapel choices, button choices, lining etc.
3.) Alteration costs are some of the most affordable in the industry
4.) Fabric quality is NOT a “small” thing. Suitsupply offers some of the finest Italian fabrics in the world. Indochino’s fabric looks cheap like men’s wearhouse.
5.) Suitsupply offers more super counts
6.) You can get bold fabric suit and jackets at Suitsupply or your basic navy and gray work suit.
From this comment you would think the whole video I made was bashing on suit supply. Suit Supply is great.
-G
I have never heard of Indochino suits ...but as the name states.. it might be made in China? Where are they put togheter?
“They didn’t move the buttons when they extended the sleeve, or they didn’t add another button”. That’s not a service they offer plus it takes way too much time to cover up old holes to make new ones to move them closer to the sleeve hem. One of the nuances of OTR.
I understand that.
i purchased a Roda blazer last week, awesome brand.
What are you talking about... Suitsupply offers Made to Measure options.... you can pick from over 600 italian fabrics etc. And you can customize the fit etc. Although you obviously have to go to a store!
How long do half canvas suits last?
Depends on how you care for them! I’ve had some for over 7 years now.
Suits Supply
Quality is everything and less customizable facts will push customer to perfection as it can get weird if completely done by clients or customers themselves.
Congrats on your video, I love suit supply for the same reasons you love them too. My suggestion for you would be to compare more dynamically two different brands for example: about fabrics, about customization, etc...
Furthermore suitsupply offers fully canvassed suits.
Hey did you have the sleeves altered?
No
That Suitsupply suit looks like a $1000 suit.
Suit supply , how long should the space be after the button
I'd say 2in Max.
-G
Have a few suits from suitsupply, love them all, but was really frustrated with my latest purchase. I'm 6'3", with really long arms and always need the suit sleeves extended a bit but this time the consultant messed up - she picked a regular sized suit, not the longer version, so after I got my suit tailored - the sleeves looked ridiculous, way worse than what George mentions in the video. Nobody notices but it annoys the heck out of me every time I see.
That being said, I'm still going to be buying from suitsupply in the future, but will be more careful next time and not blindly trust the consultants
6’5” here. Just go Suitsupply M2M, it’s worth it every time.
Indochino all the way. Most expensive suit at Indochino is $499
@Heiliger Katholik I know, but not everyone will know the difference. How the suit fit you is all that matter
Thoughts on combat gent trying to make a comeback?
The jury is still out. I'd wait a few months or for a nice discount before jumping back on board.
-G
Yeah defiantly gonna wait and see. Sad to not see your special GL collection from them. You guys gonna collab with any other brands? You and Blake have great taste.
We have a few collaborations in the works for the next holiday that hopefully with end up working out. Can't say too much just yet.
-G
Suitsupply has custom made suits and full made to measure programs
Indochino got a 2/10 from me. Great experience and nice suit, but they measured me wrong 3x. They measure me wrong twice at one location, the city im near had another one so i went to that and they messed up too. I ended up getting it for free because of this but the headache it caused was unreal. I live 45 minutes away and having to drive 3x for this was a joke.
Why did you not go custom with suit supply, they do offer that option.
Becuase it's not what they are known for. Their OTR options are what the majority of people go with.
See I was unaware of that I've only known them as mtm site. Btw nice vid. And those suits look sick.
Gent's Lounge still worth a mention that Suitsupply is by far the more well rounded company. You can do off the rack at an affordable $399-$1100 or do mtm if you want those “special” details. And it the fabrics are better quality, the construction is better quality and the fit is more accurate.
are there any similar mtm companies in europe?
I just don't like the stove pipe trousers. In that way I prefer the traditional style suit with more room in the leg and calf area.
That's more personal preference over a sign of quality though.
@@gentslounge So can you get a different style of trousers?
Where in France?! I'm in Paris right now on vacation
off the rack never fits my small frame and small child like wrists. everything off the rack looks too big on me :(
need updated comparison
Have you tried The Tie Bar suits?
Indochino. Perfect fit. Suit supply cost 1k after all the adjustments. I can get 2 luxury indochino with that price.
True.
Can’t wait for this fit to leave us
Why do you care though? Let people do what they feel good in.
Lol. Can’t handle a comment?
