2014_10_07_Francine Rivers - The Gathering

Although the spiritual formation process at Lipscomb involves many aspects, the chapel program provides multiple opportunities for students to grow closer to God and one another on a weekly basis. Each student is required to accrue 30 chapel credits per semester.* (A minimum of 25 of these credits must be gained by attending T/TR chapel assemblies.) These credits can be obtained through a variety of ways.
Every Tuesday, the entire Lipscomb Community meets in the Allen Arena at 10:55 am for The Gathering. The Gathering is a campus wide worship experience that provides a valuable opportunity for students, faculty, and staff to worship God, be challenged by dynamic speakers, and enjoy the fellowship of a Christian community.

I just finished Her Monther's Hope two days ago and I miss the characters. I love this woman and her love for God. Her books have been a great blessing and inspiration to me.

Wow I'm in my late fifties and I'm still dealing with issues from my teens and twenties. Reading her books is bringing me to understand life with Yahvshua Hamashiach/Jesus Christ is livable then without him. What a humbling experience. Thanks sis Rivers and don't apologize for all your experiences and feelings cause you are Not alone!. Keep writing and being a blessing to others!

Who is this woman, Lord?! I have been blown off my feet by Francine Rivers, her writing and now her story in the last 3 weeks. I had no clue who she was until a friend lent me the book.. I literally feel like I have been discipled by her through reading The Mark of the Lion. I can't wait to check out Redeeming Love.

ThisCCLife I just finished Redeeming Love last night and it’s one of the most beautiful books I’ve ever read in my life. You certainly won’t regret it. I was wondering the same thing as you! Thankful for this woman’s gift. The story left me in awe and worship over our wonderful Savior Jesus!

A voice in the Wind is my favorite book of all time (Pride and Prejudice is the other, hahaha). Atonement Child is a wonderful story and Redeeming Love is a must-read. No doubt, Francine has a God-given gift. She can write about Christian life without sounding trite.

I'm a little late to the party, here, as you made this comment a year ago - BUT, you were obviously reading her "BC" books; you need to read her "AD" books! Start with "Redeeming Love" (read it before you see the movie coming out in 2021), and your opinion of this fabulous writer will change. I guarantee it!
