I ❤ her bookstore and just bookstores, period! I miss Boreders Books. It was so cozy and my favorite place to go for date night with myself. I was always the last person to leave with a smile and a little kind encouragement from the friendly sales people that worked there.😁😄
I remember when she opened. It felt like all the bookshops in Nashville closed all at once! Davis-Kidd (when it was in Gracie's Plaza) was wonderful....but it moved to the mall and ultimately closed. I love independent booksellers.
I’ve always been in love with reading and physical books. I worry about them. How they’ll get along in the world without my care, repair, cataloguing during pandemic. And I miss all my bookstores in Cambridge, most of them out of business. You lazy Harvard and Radcliffe students! My reading life is a chef’s kiss. But. I am also in love with Karl. Ms. Patchett writes him so beautifully, how could anyone not love Karl w a ‘k’? This breaks my own lifelong pattern: I’m never physically attracted, or in any other way, to men with wives. Lucky me.
Ann is a charming person; it would be cool to have her as a neighbor living across the hall and having a morning coffee together before starting our day. RogerC 8/21/24
OMG! I moved to Nacogdoches Texas and can't get this. I only get ABC. Don't get me wrong, I love them as well. However, some of my favorite shows like, CBS This Morning, CBS Justice,CBS Sunday Morning, are amongst the shows I love to see. Please help, All Access I can't and feel that I shouldn't have to pay for since this is public brodcast and should be free anyway. I'm having show withdrawals. HELP, HELP, HELP. Sincerely a displaced Hurricane Harvey evacuee.

Hope ur doing well. I've read that the waters have toxic scheme calls that seeped from various facilities in the water. But local government won't and can't say anything because of deals they made with said companies. Be careful and I hope ur ok.
It is so weird that these stories never ask if the bookstore makes money or not. If I had to guess I'd say Patchett subsidizes its operation to keep it in business, and that it would soon be out of business without this subsidy. Would be interesting to know for a fact, though.
