I had the pleasure to interview Jinjer last year and to answer your question on there writing process, the guys will compose the music without Tatiana there and when the tracks are finished they send them to Tatiana and she will compose the lyrics. I also have to say seeing them live was next level amazing. Maybe next you should check out one of the MVs like Home Back or Vortex. I’m really enjoying seeing you begin your Jinjer journey, buckle up you’re in for one helluva ride.
I remember hearing from one interview that Tatiana first writes the lyrics in Russian and then translates them into English, and somehow they still turn out as poetic as they are.

I love your genuine excitement with this :) Jinjer is a revelation to me, never liked the growls before this, but with Tatiana it's kind of different. It's that mix of femininity and raw power that makes it work so well. And that's oversimplified. A lot of stuff to dig in, I recommend "Teacher teacher OMV", "I speak astronomy", or "Outlander OMV".
This song wasn't supposed to end the show, which is why it felt so abrupt, but since they had to start a bit later than planned due to tech issues it ended up like this. But even with the crossfeed issues on their monitors and this being the end of the show with her clearly out of breath, they delivered this masterful performance. That's a level of quality in a band that's rare.
‘Home Back’ is quite relevant now with everything going on in Ukraine with the Russian invasion. The song was originally written about the 2014 Crimean invasion into Ukraine, but sadly history is repeating itself and this song can be used now, too. The men were permitted to leave Ukraine to go on tour in order to positively represent Ukraine and be Ambassadors. Much of the profits went to various relief efforts in Ukraine. They just announced the US tour dates. I am hoping to be able to make a show.
most of the lyrics wrote Tati by herself and the music behind comes from the rest of the musicians. Normally the band writes the music and Tatiana writes the lyrics... and you should check them!! They're pure poetry ... she's a very very good lyrics writer. In pisces it wasn't a real "live" session, since it was more of a "one take" session, that later was edited to give better sounds and the postproduction things they do in studio. This one in Wacken is a real live. It has some backing tracks to make harmonies in some parts, but it's all Tati (she pre-records the backing tracks as well). Tati is a force of nature, no voice training, she's self taught, and she doesn't event pre-warm her voice before singing, she drinks and smokes... it's just a natural. Keep going, you have still lots of songs to discover that will blow your mind. Jinjer is a band who never lets you down... all their songs are real bangers. Sure you will like ones more than another, but all of them are crazy good. Some songs I think you would enjoy, starting with their "classics" - Pit of Conciousness live at Kiev - Cloud Factory - I Speak Astronomy - Judgement and Punishment (all of them original studio version, live version or specially the "one take vocals" by Tati) From thei older albums (more metalcore) - Outlander - Restrospection - Sit, Stay, Roll over (heavy af) - Captain Clock (heavy af as well) From their latest album - Vortex - Call me a Symbol - Mediator ... and anything you can put your hands on ... they're incredible.

The singer the influenced her to do the growling is Otep. She has a voice that will put a shiver down your spine. Check out the album Sevas Tra (Art Saves) by Otep, one of Tatianas first times hearing a women growl.
Home back, On the top, Wallflower, Scissors, Bad water, and Vortex are a few more great songs, but then again every song is great so pretty much go to thier catalog pick one and you'll love it.
Vlad writes a lot of the arrangements since joining the band. He even writes some of the guitar riffs. Roman is also very hands on with general composition of their songs and the recording process. Tati writes the majority of the lyrics. Eugene also writes songs and lyrics from time to time.
For me, one of the most impressive things about this performance.. they were a morning band at this festival.. and this was their last number. Did you hear how long she held that one phrase without a breath? whoa She writes the lyrics, first in Russian - and then translates to English. There's a good interview with her on the Charismatic voice channel.
Roman, Eugene, and Vlad will go into the studio and work out the instrument tracks. Tatiana writes the lyrics then goes into the studio and works out.how to match the lyrics to the music. Also usually trying to figure out what lyrics to use her cleans and when to use harsh. Listening to Tati describing this process it sounds very chaotic. But nobody can be angry with the finished product
Yeah. The woman is a miracle. Also I remember from another reaction someone said she does the lyrics in Ukrainian first, then translates to English, which is even more mind boggling to me.

I always think one of the most impressive parts of her performance in this vid is how out of breath she is at the very end thanking the audience when moments before when she was still screaming on the raised platform you’d never have known, the control is crazy
Yeah, definitely ! Her performance is out of the charts, and then, you learn after the song it was sung while she was out of breath 😮😮 It somehow reminds me of Queen's "The show must go on", with a vocal performance that only the best singers dare to try ; and then, you learn a dying Freddy Mercury did it in one take, while being almost incapable of only walking because of ... pneumonia
Tatiana writes the lyrics on most songs while the other three write the music, Vlad especially. There are exceptions, like Eugene helped write the lyrics to Pisces, being one himself along with Tati. Honestly they are all so talented they could probably all do anything lol.
Learn to pay attention to the other band members too, they are all phenomenal musicians with incredible talent. A small suggestion would be to watch the video, when you want to comment, press pause - so you don't miss anything or talk over amazing parts because she isn't singing. Her talent just literally amazes most everyone - so I get the disbelief and the awe that she puts on people. Keep going down the Jinjer rabbit hole 🤘

It really showcases Tatiana's vocal range and just how talented she really is! Vlad the drummer is the only one in the band that has any kind of formal music education (not on drums, but piano, I think,) Tatiana, Roman (guitar,) & Eugene (bass,) are all self taught.
The band writes the music and gives it to Tati who then improvises the lyrics over the music. Who needs a guitar soloist when you have Tati and her voice...

It's a description about the troubles that her home country of Ukraine has faced from Russian oppression and the song came out before Vladimir Putin decided to invade Ukraine so seeing that the song pretty much predicted Vladimir's move the song hits differently on just how unfortunate and unnecessary the people of Ukraine are facing in this time
Most of the lyrics she writes. The rest of the band does the rest. There are so many good Jinjer songs. Some fans say they sound better live than studio. Who is Going to be the One On the Top Captain Clock Pit of Consciousness Ape Judgement and Punishment (the one take vocal video is really good) Cloud Factory Sit Stay Roll Over Wallflower Mediator Home Back and that's just a short list.
Two things, not meant to be mean or negative: (a) Even better than your pronunciation of Pisces : The song was "Perennial"... "Perineal" has a somewhat different definition, LOL (b) The volume on both your mic and the audiomusic are set very low. If the volume space were 1-10, you would be at a 2. (very quiet) I don't know what micophone or pre-amp you are using, but you might experiment by bringing your level up +6 to12 dB from your current setting. Double check to make sure your pre-amp is on the right input setting ("instrument" vs 'line-level'.) Also, much of the high frequency is rolled off... open up any low-pass filters you might have. It is usually pretty quick to clean up the audio settings. Try a few experiments (fake reactions) to see if your sound improves once you've made a few adjustments. Most importantly, have fun !!
There’s pretty much not 2 songs alike with Jinjer. Judgement and Punishment 1 take vocal is different and very good. Stick to the live ones there generally better than the studio version.

There’s pretty much not 2 songs alike with Jinjer. Judgement and Punishment 1 take vocal is different and very good. Stick to the live ones there generally better than the studio version.
